I updated to Froyo on Sunday and just noticed my phone no longer vibrates when i turn the volume off for incoming calls
Normally when i press the volume button on the side of the phone to "vibrate" it was fine now i only get the option to turn "ringer volume" off.
Any help?
I know this might be a dumb question, but just in case, have you checked:
Settings > Sound > Vibrate.
And if so, you maybe could force it to vibrate with an app called Audio Manager Widget/Pro. If that still doesn't work then I think there's something broken in your software that you need to fix. Last option should be reflashing the ROM...
Just saying I don't have a lot of experience with HTC Desire because I don't have it for a long time.
Good luck.

heya again.
i've got a P3300 with HTC WM6 (but same happened with WM5)
i was used from my older phones to get this options when a call was incomming:
- answer
- cancel (busy)
- ignore (mute)
now i am missing this last option. sometimes when i get a call, i want to just ignore it, mute the phone (and stop the vibration too) but without giving the caller a "busy" sign.
is that somehow possible?
use the volume slider button and slide downwards
yeah its the volume slider on the top left of the phone
well to clarify as others might get confused like i did.
when ppl. sais "use the volume slider" they don't mean to just slode down the volume. no
i've found out that if i wanted to ignore a call, i just had to tap the slider once, to mute the incomming call and turn of vibration. and it wont affect any sort of volume settings for next incomming calls.
so, thx for your replies, guys.
So I've noticed that when my phone rings, the volume fades out abit and then pops back into its full range repeatedly while I recieve a call. This is even when the single voluime option has been selected. Any help with this?
I realised its because I use voice commander, is there anyway to turn the call section off?
nvm, i've figured it out
Is there a separate setting where I can turn only the notification to vibrate while leaving the phone ringtone on? I receive emails at middle of the night and it always wakes me up. At the same time, I do want incoming calls to wake me up.
Another issue. when I previously switched the phone from vibrate to sound in the notification drawer, it would make a beep noise. But today it doesn't make that sound anymore. Did i disable something somewhere?
Get Silent Time Lite on the market. Allows you to set times to quiet the phone but allow exceptions for the phone. So you can set it to ring for only contacts you highlight.
No idea about your second issue.

Click to collapse
Settings > Sounds > Volume > System.
Maybe you put the system sounds volume down?? Hope this helps
I have put the system volume all the way up. The sound came back the day before, and I cannot get it to play again last night after I turned it from vibrate to ring.
Mine did that for a little while too. Fixed itself eventually.
when ever i answer a call on my htc desire, i cant here anyone talking, i have since found out if during a call i press menu i get an option that says speaker on/off, i press this and its fine, but each time i answer a call its off, how do i set it so it is on,
Hi,
I have a strange problem and I really don't know how to solve it.
The problem is related to the sound when ringing.
If I set the "sound and vibrate" checkbox in Sounds, then the phone rings and vibrate a little and then stop the sound.
The screen still show the incoming call and the caller still hear that the phone is ringing.
The ring sound sometimes stop immediately after it's starting, sometimes ring 1, 2, 3 ... times.
BUT, if I unchecked the "sound and vibrate", the phone ring normally, as long as the caller keep the call open.
Does anyone met the same strange behavior?
The ROM is stock 4.1.1 XXALIJ, rooted with CF-auto-root.
At this moment I don't have any sound manager / profile manager installed.
I tried also to clear cache from recovery, but nothing.
What could be the cause?
What can I try to make it acting as it should?
Regards,
Stefan
I hope it is not affected by any motion settings, i.e you are covering the screen with your palm or turn it over?
If you are asking if I'm covering the phone with my hand, or if I'm turning it WHEN it's ringing, the answer is NO
But if you are asking if I have these options checked in settings, the answer is YES. I have them checked.
