I have an UK o2 XDA Ignito and would like to know how to flash a custom rom to this phone. I have already flashed my HD2, would this be in the same way? If so I would assume I would need hspl for the Ignito before flashing a custom rom but I've not been able to find it yet.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think it the same as flashing hd2. HardSPL you can find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=101134&d=1216793074
The steps are, copy diamimg.nbh to / of internal Storage, do the HardSPL (link), after that hit the volume down and Baskspace and simultaneous press reset and folow the on-screen instructions, and after the flash do hard reset (volume down+OK and simultaneous reset...
That is in brief description of the whole process.
After the flashing the rom be careful to also flash the radio, I prefer 1.09.25.03 and install appropriate rilphone (search XDA radio thread for this). The process of flashing is almost the same as doing hardSpl.
Also before flash of every rom but not for the first flash try to do MTTY to avoid strange problems, if you wish...
Good luck

Hi,
when i connect my XDA with the USB Cable, it turns itself off.
Ordered a new battery, cause i think thats the problem.
But if not i have to send my XDA to O2, so that they can fix it.
For that reason i want to reflash original O2 Rom.
I think i remeber somthing about flashing a ROM via SD-Card, so you don't have to connect a USB Cable.
I used the Forum-Search, but didn't find a Thread.
Can somebody please help me out?
thx in advance
found it myself ... (-_-)
forgot to Look into the Wiki ... d'oh.

has anyone worked out a way to CID unlock using the SD card so that we can flash any of the custom ROMs found on this site rather than just the official ones?

If you want to flash the original "complete" rom, you don't need CID unlock...
In other cases you must use USPL first, it changes SPL with a modified version, than you can flash all you want
Actually it's not possible write SPL via SD...
is there a step by step video on how to flash a rom from a sd card

You can flash in advance the original rom through SD and later when it works fine you can flash through USB cable...

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my mda compact 4 and for that reason i would like to send it back.
I flashed the device with the rom panosha 1.6 and got the spl 1.40.
Now when i want to flash back to the original stock t-mobile rom, it gives an error on 1% which says "this update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. please check your update utility"
I tried several other roms and they all work when i flash them.
i've downloaded the dutch t-mobile stock rom from this link: http://rapidshare.com/files/1324381...iamond_52.26a.25.09_Radio_1.00.25.03.rar.html
when i extract this rom to a new folder it doesn't come with an update utility only the nbh file maybe this is the problem?
Hope someone can help me out..much thanks in advance
you have to put RUU on the same folder then you can flashi it.

I tried that already..it works with all other roms.
But the stock t-mobile rom is the only one that gives the error at 1%
I think the SPL causes your problem. The file you mentined is with OS, radio and SPL, so you have have two possibilities:
1. flash back the original SPL
2. flash the stock ROM without radio and SPL
For both possibilities you need to download the necessary filed. I don't know where to find the dutch stock one, but try SPL here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408621
But take care: Read before you flash

Thanks for the reply.
The rom file i downloaded is the only one i can find for stock t-mobile NL. Is there a way to remove the radio and SPL out of the stock rom with radio and SPL?
So that i can try the second possibility''flash the stock rom without radio and SPL
And is there a way to found out what the original SPL on the mda compact 4 was, or is that just trying?
did the flash to the SPL 1.34 and after that i could flash the stock rom.
many thanks !!
thnx for the info i needed this too in case something goes wrong i want to flash t mobile nl rom back

First you must have HardSPL on your device
Then it will depends on your preference:
1. If you choose RBSN, then you will need to install the shipped ROM first
2. If you choose NRBS, then you can directly flash the ROM
Last you can flash the Radio ROM on your choice (the latest version is 1.56.70.11)
Note:
You must follow the upgrade guidance from mrvanx
Read more about RBSN/NRBS in the Wiki
Good luck man
so do i hafto reinstall hardspl evrytime? and how do i kno if its rsnb or nrsb?
thanks

No, you only need to flash it once.
Each chef will put such info, whether is it RSBN or NRBS.
Hi
I know this is a noob question but how do you flash a new radio to the htc desire, the reason I ask is because when I had a G1 I flashed plenty of radio's and roms and ended up bricking it one day because I was a bit dum one day, and I dont really want to brick my desire.
Ive seen the tutorial on here where u use macardo in windows but surely you would just flash the radio since there is no spl to worry about? is that right?
Download .zip from the Desire Android Developement Section (Desire stock radios), then boot into recovery and flash the .zip file - radio flash done.
Of course, if the file is a corrupted download (not finished most likely), it can brick your phone.
Always check the file, if it's correct before flashing.
The best way for me is to flash with fastboot commander (Can find it in the forums)
If you don't find it look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823315
Thanks guys
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Theres a very good guide to flashing a radio via fastboot here:

Hi guys
I installed a few custom roms into my dhd in the last few days. I had to downgrade to the 1.3X version of stock rom to do this. I got tips from the xda post.
After this whenever i go to bootloader, i see that the
bootloader is searching for the ruu rom. If i put the ruu zip file in sd card, it will try to do an install. Is there something wrong with my bootloader? Please advice.
I also want to try and restore the phone to the stock condition. (No gripes with custom roms. Just want to give this a try) Will an ruu flash the old recovery back in? Or should i do this seperately? And what about the radio? Will it come with ruu?
I use a goldcard now. Will it void my warranty if i dont remove it? I dont have ruu roms specific to india with me.
Please help me out. Searched the forum but :-(

1-maybe not, only that u need to re-name the file to "update.zip" or pd98img.zip..
depending that you want to do..
2-yes, an original ruu flashes the originalk recovery...(u can´t do anything in this recovery...)
3-radio not comming with the RUU or with a custom rom... you should to flash it apart... via fastboot or with a tool..
4-goldcard don´t removes your warranty... its maded into the sd card- remove it or format... and gold card dissapears
5-If u don´t found An official RUU for your country... always can enjoy the WEE ruu (generic) without problems...
Thanks Sergi.
But why is the bootloader searching for the zip? I think the downgrade process caused this issue.
Or will all bootloaders search for the zip?
How did you get the name pd98img.zip? My bootloader is indeed searching for this zip file! I never mentioned it in my post
edit:: A few more hours in the forum gives me the impression that all bootloaders will search for this file. Am I right?
Also the RUU has a radio in the name of the file. Should I flash this radio seperately using fastboot?
I see a link to RUU PD98IMG_Ace_hTC_Asia_India_1.84.720.3_Radio_12.28g .60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3_release_175158_signed.zip. Why is the radio name in the file? Will it have the radio inside or should I flash the same radio separately?
I installed RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.3_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.15_M3_release_155032_signed and you know what. Even the radio got changed!!!

sent from my amstrad CPC powered by LOL..(premium xda)
And yes.. bootloader always search pd98img...but then shows you the menu true??its normal.. this file can reflaah your phone if anything goes badly...

Yes all set!!
what I did was to flash with a 1.32(non indian) version first, temp root it, then remove the radio S OFF.
Then I flashed it with the 1.84 indian version, and all set!!
Thank you!!
One more question, will the RUU exe flash the kernel as well?
Another question too.. Will multiple flashing and reflashing harm the phone in anyways?
