I'm trying to nail down the exact procedure for installing Hulu into Roms other than SkyRaider. Specifically I am currently using HeyItsLouFroyo which after trying all the ROMs I could find worked the best.
So far I have downloaded the Hulupack.zip from the OP of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764787&highlight=hulu
and the Hulu.apk.zip file from an update to the same thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7903587&highlight=hulu#post7903587
I tried installing the "install_huluflash_player.apk" but it gave me an error during the install something to the effect of "Application was not installed". From there I installed the "Hulu.apk" which installed successfully. Next I tried "flash_fixed_final.apk" which gave me the same error as the original flash install. Just for grins I launched the Hulu app and to my surprise it seemed to be working until I got a message that said "Unfortunately Hulu is not supported on your platform" I have not installed the updated hulu.apk that I found later in the thread yet. I wanted to first start a thread and see if you guys can save me some time and frustration by telling me what the proper process is for getting this working.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
It looks like I may have posted this in the wrong spot. Can someone please move this to the correct spot or tell me how I can move it and where to?
Bump bump

I did not. I just removed the flash app via Titanium and tried to install the flash_fixed_final.apk but received the same error as before.
Now I have no flash at all and still can't install flash. HMMM, now what?
Wait, alright I rebooted and after the reboot I was able to install the new version of flash. I opened hulu and it seems to be working now except it has this issue where the voices are super slow. I remember reading something about this in another forum but I think it was fixed by an update to the ROM. Anyone know how to fix the demon voices?
I have a 100% working Hulu now.
The fix for the demon audio was found in another forum. Here is what I did.
1. Opened Rom Manager
2. Selected "Download ROM"
3. Selected "Ihtfp69"
4. Selected "Goodies for 2.2+"
5. Clicked on the "Download" button
6. Checked the checkbox next to "Revert Audio Fix" and clicked OK.

Hi guys I rooted my desire using the live cd method, powered up my phone before installing a2sd and I could see all of my download history on the market with access to all apps. After this I booted into recovery using step2 on the live cd and installed A2SD. When I turned the phone on again all of the download history was gone and I can't see apps like Google Earth, National Rail etc.
I thought I did something wrong so I wiped the device and installed the rooted rom update again with a2sd at the same time. The problem still exists and nothing has changed.
Could you please help me because this is very annoying and I cant set up my phone the I want until this is resolved.
Very strange... Use Market enabler > http://market-enabler.googlecode.com/files/MarketEnabler_latest.html
install, apply new settings and reboot, problem solved
Thanks for the suggestion but the market enabler doesn't solve it, I tried it.
Another strange thing that I found is I have an .apk of CoPilot which I was using before rooting and when I tried installing it now it gives me an error "Application not installed".
I still haven't solved this problem and its really bugging me.
I un-rooted my phone and used a different google account with no luck. I still don't see some applications in the market.
Just to let you know I am in the UK using a generic sim free desire on 3 network. Could you please, please, please help me out. I am running out of options and I thought unrooting would fix it.
Weird issue you are describing. As far as I know it depends on the fingerprint of the build.prop in the ROM (and if Google added it to the white list(?)) or not.
Many people are using the rooted ROM (all the same build.prop) and they can access protected apps just fine. So probably the problem lies elsewhere.
I have a similar problem, before I rooted my device I could see all apps I bought in my g1 days. After I rooted first of all none showed up, after a day or so only a few showed up... rebooted a few more times (only ever flashed once using Windows with apps2sd) now I have a few I had before show up not all just a few and thats how its been since. weird. I had half results :/

Same problem here with one single application.
Had SlideIT paid version installed on stock firmware.
Once i rooted it gave me the message "application not installed" once i tried to install it.
Funny enough the SlideIT lite version is still able to install fine.
Definitely want it to work again, so i hope someone knows how to fix it
I tried a couple of different ROMs today and had this same problem, clicking My Downloads would just show a blank screen, and there was no "Top Paid Apps" tab. I tried unrooting, rerooting, nothing fixed it, until I found this;
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=1ea082d443f3d16c&hl=en
Pushing that xml file (note the spelling mistake before you do it) fixed it all back up, no idea what caused it to get all messed up and why it wasn't fixed by wiping and reflashing.

I tried to push the file via adb shell in windows and got permission denied. Am I doing it right or do I need to root the phone again to be able to push that file because I have reverted back to the generic stock rom?
Mine was rooted when I pushed it, try re-rooting it and pushing it again I guess.
I finally got around to re-rooting it and tried your solution with pushing that file but no change to my market
Just to be clear I can see the Top Paid apps tab, but I cant access copy protected apps like Google Earth.
I updated to the new netflix today and I am getting this error when attempting playback of any show. Anyone experience this?
Same here. Tried both my Samsung Galaxy S (T-Mobile Vibrant) with Android 2.2 (Bionix-v 1.3.1) and my wife's Vibrant (stock 2.2).
The error that appears when attempting to start a program is:
We are unable to start playback. Please try to restart it (13007)
After this, it appears to hang and then crash. Help!
It works fine on my samsung captivate.
still no solution.
I tried it with one item, got the same error 13007, and restored the previous version from backup. I am afraid that eventually they may turn off the old version and force an upgrade, but for now it works.

It wouldn't be legal to post without permission from Netflix.
I did see on ArchosFans, that after two reboots, the new version starts to work.
Didn't seem to do the trick

Yes it is working
Yes 2 reboots on my Archos 101 and is working, thanks a lot
Two reboots on my Archos 70 seems to do nothing -- worse when I uninstalled it, and installed the 1.4xx version from Titanium Backup, the old version insists I upgrade!

I know: I hate that they force "upgrades" like that.
However, the new version seems to work now.
Has anyone found a fix for this? The two reboots thing did not work on my 101.
Any ideas on this guys? a buddy of mine is having this issue with his Vibrant.... thoughts?
Not working on my Archos Internet 70
The last version forced me to upgrade now all I get is 13007 errors. Anyone know what that means? I tried uninstalling, resinstalling, killing all running apps, uninstalling other apps. nothing works.
Has anyone got this working, I'm really pissed I can't get it going.
OK, guys. I found a work around for Netflix app. I got it working on two different 101s. Hopefully this wasn't posted already. If it was disregard this.
First you need to have Arctools installed to get the android market. If you don't already have it on your device, here is a step by step video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWyjeMXQMOU
Make sure you follow step by step. I didn't do the format the first time, and it wouldn't install the market right.
Once you have the market on there, you need to download the old version of netflix (1.4.1). APK is in post. Download and install the app. When you first launch the app it will tell you you need to upgrade, click the OK box. The next box that shows up will be the "Complete action using" box. It should show you the two options "Market" or "search". When the box comes up, press the back arrow. This should take you to the Netflix home page, and there you go, you can stream! The reason you need the Android market is because without it the "You must upgrade" won't give you an option on how to upgrade. (see attached pics)
A couple of side notes.
1) If the "Complete actions using" box doesn't come, you need to clear the market as the default app. To do this go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Find the Market in the list and click "Clear Default". That should force the box to pop up.
2) The issue I had on mine was once I start streaming something the back button freezes the video. The only way out is the home button or wait till force close pops up. The one I did for my friend didn't do that. When the back arrow was pushed on that one the "need to upgrade box" pops up. If it does, follow the same steps from above. (Press OK, then when the select option box pops up just click the back arrow). I know the Force close is an inconvience, but hey, at least you have streaming video.
I don't know how long this will work, or if they plan on patching so you can't do this (or fix their stupid app). Hopefully this helps the people that couldn't get the app working with the multi-reboot method.
If it works for you, please make sure you hit the thanks button.
As of today 12/15/11, Netflix released an update for their app, and it fixed (at least for me) the 13007 error. So upgrade to the newest version and test it out!
Hey Guys,
I need your help. Long time ago I installed winamp 1.2.9 on my device but yesterday I've noticed that there is no shortcut listed to start the App.
So I tried to figure out why. I tried to install the apk file again but it fails telling Install not being successful.
I tried the newer version of Winamp on the Market but again install fails telling Not Compatible update!
I tried to locate the Winamp Files in System Folder an deleted them successfully. But again the same problem.
Tried to wipe cache and dalvik --> Boot loop
Is there a way to clean deinstall the App manually in order to re install the new version?
Using Kindle Stock ROm ver. 6.3.1 rooted
Thank you so much in advance

Moving to Q&A, please post all questions there.

part of the problem may lie in the fact that your using rooted stock dunno? have you tried something like root uninstaller pro? to remove the app also I hate to say this to everyone as a fix sometimes it does work out for the better truthfully I have never see it not but you can flash modaco found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916 right over your existing system without wiping that might clear up any chances of permission issues as far as removing an app. As far as updating an app just because it shows available doesnt mean that it is for your device compatibility issues are usually that way for a reason maybe it doesnt like gingerbread?? but there is another option you could always just sideload it instead and see if it takes and functions correctly good luck
I have provided my dropbox link to you in a pm give it a shot doesn`t mean that the icon will show in your apps though
Hey guys:
Unlocking and rooting my HTC Wildfire was the second most frustrating experience of my life. However, it's finally over and I flashed CM 10 onto my phone along with 4.1.2 GApps signed (I followed this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878031&highlight=unlocked+bootloader+but+s-on).
Everything seemed to go well, except the Google Play Store doesn't work. It keeps giving me the "Error retrieving information from server. [RH-01]" message. I've also noted that Google Services Framework is NOT installed on my phone. I should note that I have 0 apps installed, meaning I do not have a file manager and there is no file manager/explorer that comes stock as far as I'm aware.
I've looked all over the internet and everything tells me to erase the cache because corrupted data seems to be the most common cause of this error message. This is obviously not the case with my phone. What do I need to do to get this thing to work? I've reflashed the GApps and even flashed a different one. I've tried manually downloading and installing Google Services Framework but it won't install. I've tried moving files around on my SD card (the only thing I can access from my computer) and nothing has worked.
I'm just about at my wit's end here guys. Please help me!
PS. I have a clockworkmod back-up from before my phone was rooted saved onto my computer. However it doesn't have my apps in it so I don't think I can get a file manager from it.
**FIXED**
I feel like an idiot, but the reason it wasn't working was because the CM 10 mod I was trying to install failed to install :S I wrote the warning sign off as something else and didn't read the message it sent me I guess.
ANYWAY I found a fix here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136011 use the SLIMCM-10 ROM instead and that's what fixed if for me (use all the other downloads he has there too, except for the regular CM10 mod). Thanks for the help that I received, and sorry for being a n00b. Love this community BTW, you guys are the best!
This happened to me the first time I flashed icu's marvelc port of paranoid android...I fixed it by wiping everything and just reflashing the whole rom and gapps. Try that. Tell me if it works.

Evening all,
I've just got a Galaxy S4 Mini LTE (I9151), which I've rooted and installed TWRP using the Samsung Toolkit.
I've also disabled and removed as much of Knox as I can.
However, every time I reboot, I get: "SuperSU has stopped responding".
I'm unable to load the app, and have to reinstall it for it to work. I've also tried the permission fix in Toolkit to no avail.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Gavin
I've got the exact same problem.

I tried searching because I encountered the same problem, yet failed to find a solution so I tried to fix it myself.
What I did was:
downloaded the latest superSU apk
installed it
opened the app and went to settings then chose reinstall, continue
waited for a while then re installed the downloaded apk once more
rebooted
hope it helps
I was having the same issue as listed in this thread on my s3 and following the instructions below fixed it beautifully !! I'm able to maintain root after rebooting now !!
