main dictionary broken - Desire General

Hi everyone.
I recently did the froyo update and I use a multi touch keyboard. I can't remember which one I installed.
Basically my problem is that my dictionary seemed to not have basic words in it like my and the.
I ended up having to add all those words to my user dictionary.
I just wanted to know if there is a way to view the normal dictionary rather than just the user one.
Thanks.

Changing language from the keyboard?

Is this possible at all? I've been trying to find out how to do it but I get way too many results about other keyboards or other iterations of HTC's keyboard...
Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how to do it on my EVO, kind of indispensable since I switch a lot from English to Spanish mid-message (and vice versa)... Whenever I type anything in Spanish I end up inadvertently adding words to the dictionary, and the alternative would be to have no auto-correction which would suck.
So can anybody help an Android noobie out? I've been meaning to try Swype (which I'm told has a key for language switching) but I wanted to have the option of using either keyboard anyway.

adding Hebrew fonts after rooting

Hey guys, I got my EVO like a month ago and almost immediately I rooted it.
I will like to know a way to add hebrew fonts to my phone.I saw that in the market they have an "Israel Pack" app, but the comments say that it replaces the english fonts for the hebrew ones and I just want to add it so it recognizes hebrew on a browser and also to use it on the keyboard.
I saw there is a way to do it on the hero(since I'm a new member I can't post any links) but is based on 1.5 I think and as of now Im using 2.1 "OMJ_EVO_2.1_Eclair_v1.6r" (I'll use 2.2 but the cameras are important for me) and I don't think that method will work in the same way for the EVO.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

[Q] Thai Font HTC Decsire

Hi guys,
I have recently purchased a HTC Desire. To my surprise it does not support Thai font. I frequently receive SMS messages in Thai, and all I receive using this phone is SMS messages filled with squares. My question is: Is there a thai font/language pack?. I have tried Anysoft keyboard and the thai language pack, however that did not enable my phone to read thai, rather it just installed the ability to type it.
Also I would prefer to have this ability without rooting my phone, as I am inexperienced, and if you will, almost completely technology illiterate.
If rooting is the ONLY way, I need a guide, but I have seen so many guides on how to root, and I still do not understand (think of me as your computer illiterate mother.... I just don't understand no matter how many times you tell me). zif rooting is the only way, can someone explain it in slightly more english.
Please help with this issue,
Cheers
I am also interested in this topic. Anyone knows if there's a way to make Desire support Thai fonts?
I would like to know this to.
You guys are looking for an app in the market place called: star tranlate
It translates sms and all sorts - also Thai language is supported.
Froyo supports Thai fonts. Couldn't be ass to wait for OTA update from Orange so I rooted my Orange branded Desire and installed LeeDroid ROM yesterday.
Only problem is, it doesn't have Thai keyboard (well, it has but it doesn't have Thai characters on it) but you can download C&N Thai keyboard from the market.
I solved this by installing AnySoftKeyboard available at Android Market. After this I installed the AnySoft Thai Language Pack. First I didn't realize that the installation worked, but after figuring out how to configure the input method and switch between English and Thai keyboard (you simply swipe sideways) it works like an absolute charm.
No rooting required, installation done in less than 10mins.
Recommended. Let me know if you need help configuring the input method, krub.
EDIT: I should add that all existing functions in the Phone where Thai fonts are being used are now displaying Thai. For instance, all information in the contacts and old text messages from my previous phone.
gud job keep it up!!!

[Q] Problem with user dictionary

Hello all,
I have a HTC Desire with android 2.2, and I am using Better Keyboard with the Dutch Language Pack in the user dictionary. I have a problem with manually adding words to the dictionary. After some time, it just forgets the words. I have added some screenshots in order to clarify my problem:

I have already reported the problem to the Better Keyboard developers, and they said they would investigate the issue. However, I am not sure whether this is a better keyboard issue, or a user dictionary issue, what do you think?
Have you got a solution for me perhaps?
Edit: not allowed to attach screenshots....

[Q] Two Personal Dictionaries

I seem to have acquired two personal dictionaries, with my custom words shared between the two.
If I use the 'touch again to save' method, the word appears in the 'English (United Kingdom)' dictionary, otherwise it appears in the 'English' one.
Anyone else notice this, or have an idea whether it's a feature/bug?
I've got the same problem after installing Google keyboard. I've been using Swype for some time thus I hadn't payed much attention.
No matter what I try now, the system wants to put every new word I add into the "English" dictionary where they used to go into the "English (united states)" dictionary.
