[Q] NexusMod 2.0 Live Wallpaper - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am wondering if ANYONE that is using Froyo has found a way to get the NexusMod 2.0 wallpaper to work? I purchased it a few months back and the developer announce on July 2nd he was working on an update for Froyo and he hasn't done anything about it.
So if anyone has it or has fixed it to work on Froyo PLEASE help me out to get it!

It's not working for froyo and the dev has all but given up on it apparently

BUMP!!!! Come on someone must have an answer to this!!!

Like I said the Dev has pretty much given up on it, if its important to you try contacting him

buy nexus revamped pro. Much better than nexusmod and works on 2.2 plus it gets regular updates

You could always spam the dev's Twitter.

could anyone clarify how this is different than the "nexus" live wallpaper that comes stock on the phone?

Cyanogen 6.1 Question

I messaged him today on Twitter about the release date for 6.1 and he replied with..
"CM 6.1 feature freeze will be this Sunday, then it's all bug fixes and refinements. Get your patches in now"
What does feature freeze mean? What does he mean by getting your patches in?
He means they will not be adding any more features or apps. Just making what's there run as smooth as possible.
Hey... I think this thing makes phone calls too!
There is still no release date for the Captivate in Canada. We've been getting dicked around by Roger's for quite a while now. Until then, work your magic guys! Thanks for the excellent job!
It sounds like this could be released very soon. Was there any mention as to what will be included with 6.1?
Thanks again!
I didn't ask him I didn't want to come off as a pest. I'm pretty sure it's a lot but I'll wait until he pours release notes on his site. Hopefully by the end if this month or the next.
Sent while sitting on the toilet.
I'm sure he gets rush requests by the boatload.
I just got the Tweet that 2.2 is officially released for the Samsung Galaxy S phones. Will this change anything for Cyanogen 6.1?
You guys should be following the nightly thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729802
There are beta builds with all the 6.1 goodies. The first post contains info about what has changed, and if you read some latest comments, you will find out more cool info about what may be coming.
Are lagfixes device specific? Why wouldn't a lagfix be included with Cyanogen?
answer
When he says there is a feature freeze it means that they will stop adding new features and begin prepping for a release. And when he said get your patches in he assumed you where one of the devs but it means that Anny bug fixes you may have made while using a nightly send them in so that the releasevwill not have those bugs.
He tweeted lastnight that he hopes to have 6.1 rc1 out Tuesday

4g must be the hardest thing ever for these guys. Impossible I guess. **** HTC is king then. They got a driver. No not for us tho. Uncle Jimmy says hello
Bet any release canidate or release wont have 4g. That really sucks. The evo is the only incomplete cyan rom out there I think:?
I know I sure as hell can't do it. Bunquetta, shameka
As long as 6.1 fix the bluetooth problem im fine with waiting..

Does anyone have any news about Galaxy S compatibility for 6.1? Any news in general?

Modding a rom

I have been using OMGBv6 and I like the ROM. I have recently learned how to customize ROMs'by using the guide at The Unlockr. I have a few questions. Do I need permission to use someone else's ROM? Can I just use a stock ROM from any device (i.e. nexus s) and port it to my device. I was not sure if there would be complications going from GSM to CDMA. The video recording is broken in OMGB. I would like to work to fix that. Can someone point me in the direction of how to fix this? I thought this should go in the development section. Sorry if not.
If you are modding things for yourself, you don't need permission. If you are using another ROM to make your "own" to put up, then you def need permission. When in doubt, ask. As far as the fix you are looking for, I have no idea, someone else will have to lend their input.
This will be just for myself. I love Vanilla ROMs and can not seem to find any. Hopefully I can get some help with the other stuff.
Check your inbox i sent you some info

HTC Incredible OMGB 2.3.1
I have been to his site. I am interested in building my own roms. Not from scratch but for personal use. But thanks
Im sure, if its for personal use and your not trying to pass it of as yours and post it, you should be ok to mod others rom for yourself. Just think of it this way. Google made the os htc made sense and everyone is modding there stuff and releasing it. IMO
Sent from my sexy assistant. (HTC Incredible)
I am just going to use his rom and mod to my liking. I do not plan on releasing to anyone else. Does anyone know if I can use the stock rom from a nexus s and use on my incredible.
I'm not a dev, but pretty sure you can't. The rom is hardware specific. Even porting a rom from the evo, which is very similar to the inc, takes a lot of work.

I was just using the nexus as an example, I am trying to learn this stuff and am using the kitchen to mod roms to my liking. Any info on fixing things broken on roms such as the recording in omgb
Just as an example. Ruby 2.0 puts a percentage in the battery icon, if I wanted to change the verizon wireless text to something else. Change a lock screen. Simple mods to a rom.

[Q]What Will Gingerbread Bring For Me?[Q]

Hi there XDA,
So here in the UK for Unlocked users like myself our Gingerbread update should be arriving tomorrow, however I have no idea what Gingerbread is supposed to be bringing me at all? I have heard that it features HTC's 'New' redesigned multi-touch IME, however I don't understand what that means?
I was just wondering could somebody tell me what improvements/updates Gingerbread will bring to my device... Thanks!
The update won't bring much, because Gingerbread is more of a design update for Android, but we DHD owners got sense so you it's not that big of a update. The thing you WILL notice of the update are speed/stability of the phone and sense 2.1.
Sense 2.1 brings some new things like a new app viewing/scrolling thing, a quick settings tab in the notifications and some small things like being able to switch places widget/apps on the home screens just by placing them on the same place.
There are unconfirmed reports that the Gingerbread update will bring you
Mo Money, Mo Problems.

You'd need to speak to HTC if you get these.
Thanks for the replies, sounds like a pretty pointless update then, but nevertheless updates are ALWAYS welcome on my device!

Awesome! Nice to get some official confirmation (finally).

There's the actual ATT Link
Some Vivid users were able to dial *#*#682#*#* to get the update (force), but it doesn't appear to work. Just a couple of months, then
EDIT;
Does anyone with stock want to try dialing that above code and accessing "Software Update"?
sweet, CyanogenMod 9 might be coming soon too
really? XD Can't wait
Does anyone know how to restore back to stock?
I think you reflash the stock ROM, not sure where you can find that though.
Oh nice, thanks! I just can't stop smiling )))

Pure android theme/rom/tweak? (not w/ sprint ID)

Hey all, this is one of my first post here, but I have been a user since the original Moto Droid. Before asking any questions I wanted to thank EVERYONE here who has helped me & the Mods for keeping this place so neat and clean!
Does anyone know of a way to get the pure android experience on this phone? (i.e. sms, dialer, icons, lock screen, etc) Like what comes on the new Galaxy Nexus!?
Please forgive me if this has been addressed already, I couldn't find anything with any solutions or definite answers.
Thanks!

Your answer is
AOKP
CM9
Codename
Those are as stock they can get

Yup, or Codename, they are based off Android Open Source Project but have a few tweaks and tons of settings to play with.
Thanks for the fast replies! Clicked the button for you both.
I was hoping for a way to just strip it like you could senseUI on the Evo.

There used to be some bare roms, but now now with ICS going on, it seems gingerbread roms are going away.

Awesome, I will wait a while and see what happens. I'm fairly please to be stuck with this theme if I'm forced to have one.
Running Caulkins v3 now for optimized battery.
Thanks everyone for your help and replies!
I found something that I am 100% happy with and thought I would share for others.
I used Caulkins Rom found here ~~> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332837
And the ACS ICS theme found here ~~>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322272&highlight=pure+android
And came up with a very fast, battery saving, pure(ish) android experience.
