BCM4751 Drivers - Galaxy S I9000 Android Development

I see Linux drivers for the GPS chipset on the web.
Now I'm not very knowledgeable with Linux yet - can someone tell me if it's a "swap and play" job that we can do ourselves or not?
I suppose this will have been considered by the wise already, but I couldn't find it if it has been documented anywhere!

Can you post a link?

http://www.google.com/m/search?q=bc...sung&source=android-home&ltoken=664bd1760f625
just what i saw here. Sorry i have to get to bed as i have a meeting with a new boss in the morning but the top few lines looked like linux drivers at a glance.

Here's the source I think for the driver.
Any good to anyone?
I'll keep looking for more stuff as well.

Can anyone see when that driver was released?

It was posted on 23rd of August but there's no indication of when it was created.

If you don't like windows you can allways try using doors...
WM doesn't stand for Windows Mobile as most people think... it stands for Wiki Mania...
I also tried to change my wife's OS but... No joy... All OS i know are impossible to install on her...
Hehehehehehe i was just kidding.
As you may see in one of the last sections of the Wiki [HTC Hermes Linux port: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Linux], some people tried to port linux into Hemes but the project has been abandoned/postponed due to the lack of developpers.
If someone can inform you of any remote possibility of changing your Hermes OS, that person is pof.
Search the forum for messages from him and PM him if you like or just click the following link to PM him http://forum.xda-developers.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=240671.
In general population discussion boards i don't believe you can get a conclusive answer.
Cheers.

Someone in PPCGEEKS has a battery read fix. Link here

Dude named Unknownforce
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=121614
he says it so formally like its nothing... said its a recompile of the 5/18/10 zimage with some .c something LOL... read up
I find things like this to give a good spark to the scene!
only problem is that you lose wifi, but it does work pretty good.
From what I found already, this fix will be included in the next distro. Don't know about the WiFi.
If anyone can find no2chem... (The developer of the "updated" battery drivers for the TP2) He was going to release a source for his battery drivers, but never did... And basically disappeared from the PPC world...
If I could get the source for the battery drivers and get the exact calculations that are used in them... I could easily port them into the code and get it working as it should.
But as it is right now, I'm stuck with attempting to learn ARM ASM and doing a disassemble of the dll file... which has proven to be much harder than I anticipated going into it...
From what I got from no2chem before he disapeared, he is up to his neck in schooling working on I believe his Phd. So he is out with a good reason. Hopefully he does pop back up sometime soon here.
Can you post a mirror link to this please PPCGeeks registration is broken.

Its not broken. It worked for me.
And to the OP, we are hoping it will be included in the next commit so all the new kernels will have it
PPC Geeks Registration Broken
I also cannot register for PPC Geeks - the registration form keeps saying that I entered the verification text incorrectly.
Maybe it's not too far from getting an actual battery fix soon....

Over clock?

I've searched the forum and found 1 thread on this but it's pretty old and the question was never answered. Is it possible to over clock Rhodium's CPU? Does anybody have a link or a tutorial?

we are patiently awaiting feed back...
phhusson, one of the lead developers working on Linux kernel porting to MSM7xxx devices released this script to supposedly overclock to 615MHz. It never seemed to work on mine, but there's no reason you can't try it

I tried and no luck. The "listen for network connection" listes but doesnt initiate and the "run" option delivers a "Error cannot open script file blah blah blah" Hopes were up but theres no saying what tomorrow may bring.
no one updated this thread so i will assume you are unaware...lol...there appears to be an app that works now...link

RDF Seeker (Windows Application) Updated: 12-13-2011

RDF Seeker for Windows is no longer being actively developed! Please don't post bugs because they are not going to be fixed!
>>Download and changelog<<
RDF Seeker for Android has been released! Check out the beta here
Hey guys!
So I have asked around how people are checking for new rdf's and everyone has said that they just try entering a name and see what happens.
This to me feels slow, unreliable, and just a plain pain in the ass.
To remedy this process I decided to create a simple application that will scan for rdf files and download them for viewing. (It cleans up after itself don't worry)
I would have to say that this software is in the alpha more so beta stage.
It won't break your computer but not sure if it will work in all cases.
Either way the standard disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything this application does to your computer, grandmother, dog, or brand new car.
Bug List:
The RDF parsing for the viewer is still very basic and may very well show bad info or not work at all.
If you do find an rdf that the viewer doesn't display correctly please send the rdf to me by opening the rdf in notepad (double click the build in the list) and save it to a text file.
Requirements:
Windows (Duh)
.Net 3.5
Notepad (You do have notepad on your computer right?)
Steps to use:
1. Select or type your device name.
2. Enter the build name that you would like to start looking for rdf's after IF required. (Ex. EI22)
3. Enter how many build names you would like to check. (Default is 50, the more you check the longer it takes. Some devices will only return one rdf)
4. Select a build from the list to show its details in the viewer or, double click on it to open it in notepad.
5. Profit????

It's called ChangeLogs.

Does anyone know of another web based list that may be more reliable?
This one seems outdated, but it works for now.
It must have all the model names (preferably on the same page)
The URL to at least one rdf file for each model where the rest can be found.
No Clue where a new one can be found. But i am liking this. And thanks for not capping the amount you can search. gonna start with the first release for our phones, set it to 10000 builds, and see what i can find yes just for the heck of it.

I can tell you one thing is for sure, while testing I ran quite a few scans (duh) and there are A LOT of builds that went unnoticed.
Can't wait to hear about your results.
This brings up a thought. Maybe I should have an export function?
