Dude named Unknownforce

he says it so formally like its nothing... said its a recompile of the 5/18/10 zimage with some .c something LOL... read up
I find things like this to give a good spark to the scene!
only problem is that you lose wifi, but it does work pretty good.
From what I found already, this fix will be included in the next distro. Don't know about the WiFi.
If anyone can find no2chem... (The developer of the "updated" battery drivers for the TP2) He was going to release a source for his battery drivers, but never did... And basically disappeared from the PPC world...
If I could get the source for the battery drivers and get the exact calculations that are used in them... I could easily port them into the code and get it working as it should.
But as it is right now, I'm stuck with attempting to learn ARM ASM and doing a disassemble of the dll file... which has proven to be much harder than I anticipated going into it...
From what I got from no2chem before he disapeared, he is up to his neck in schooling working on I believe his Phd. So he is out with a good reason. Hopefully he does pop back up sometime soon here.

Its not broken. It worked for me.
And to the OP, we are hoping it will be included in the next commit so all the new kernels will have it
PPC Geeks Registration Broken
I also cannot register for PPC Geeks - the registration form keeps saying that I entered the verification text incorrectly.
Maybe it's not too far from getting an actual battery fix soon....

Yes this is the real thing!
I can't believe how long it took for this to get out to the public finally. This is works (so far for over 1 week) great on my T-Mobile Dash. I didn't need to CID unlock it or anything (though i believe I tried application unlock app and that didn't seem to have worked). This is T-Mobile branded so if you have a different carrier there MAY be some modification required for proper function...though I wouldn't really know since I use T-Mobile -
This thing has it all working so far except the T-Zones in WINWAP. It tells you this version of WinWAP is not supported by tmo..if you are testing you are using an unregistered version and you should contact your test lead to get it registered...No biggie because you can access your account info via the new IE browser.
The new IE Browser is quicker and more functional in general. You also get Live! Search for 411 directory (which can dial/add to contacts directly from there!!!!) also Satellite and road map/GPS/directions/traffic... oh yes no bull... It has Windows LIVE! messenger and email integration to your home screen which is still buggy (gives error and you need to change to another home screen). Tmobile Blue home screen works fine...though there is a BETA stamp in the lower right corner (Also a big red UI TEST BUILD notice when you turn on the phone...oh well).
Anyways...I'm sure you've read all about the new features forever and been pissed that a couple of leaks for other version were out but not our beloved Dash. Here it is guys...Oh yes not a virus either.
Just one bit of advice. BE PATIENT DURING THE UPGRADE !!! It may look like it freezes at some points, but trust me it didn't.
File named RUU_Excalibur_TMO_US_1.20.531.1_4.1.13.34_02.79.90_Test.exe and it is 44.7 MB
Since I can't attach it here to the post I am posting the link to a torrent site which I've...yeah...well it's there and it works:
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1061423/4574331/
If for some reason the link doesn't work go to the main webpage and search...if you STILL can't find it...you don't need to be upgrading your phone - you'll probably break something lol
fo a second there i thought you had a different beta rom this has already been posted but thanks anyways!
thanks for posting a link, but this has been discussed in this forum for two weeks and there are a few threads that discuss different aspects of this rom. you really should do a little research as you will find fixes for a few of the small bugs you are no doubt experiencing
argh...I searched and didn't see any thread clearly saying there was something for the excalibur...maybe I should have looked closer. Sorry guys, but hey - it's another source to download it from I guess. Hopefully someone finds this useful.
Didn't mean to make it seem like I released something "newer" -
oh well - This site rox
Update: With some fixes, it was Tested and working on a Blackjack two (a widescreen display) i should be able to get some stuff up. If someone has a portrait device they can test on that would be great.
UPDATE:
I added a download link at the bottom. i am getting ready to start working on the server side of things, can a couple of you guys download the program and tell me how the first page looks (scroll bars ect) and what screen size you are using. if you can grab a screen shot that would be great. i need to know what i am working with here as far as how big text needs to be, how images are fitting the page ect THIS IS A VERY EARLY BETA and not completely functional (please do not download yet unless you are testing) I will post when we have a decent functional database going for everyone.
hi guys we are developing an "app store" and would like to further development to smartphones. I know you guy don't frequent the dev and hacking section because alot of stuff there doesn't work for you, so i'm posting a notice here to get your attention.
Basically we need a couple people willing to test and provide some links for some apps we can add (as we, the three people currently developin the app don't have smartphones to test on)
I will try and check up on this thread, but you will probably get better support back in the main thread in dev and hacking, here is the link:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471576
look forward to working with you guys
-THIS DOWNLOAD IS FOR TESTING ONLY-
Believe me, you will not yet have use for it otherwise

same here- I have a spare MDA and Dash that I can play with and not worry about
well right now we use an embeded browser so it shouldn't trash your device, we are working on an ftp uploader and possibly a downloader (the downloader just doesn't look as nice as what i can do with some html) We're working on that though right now. I have it downloading all the info to a plain old table which is not very excitable on the eyes.
For a starters can you list off some apps, and link me so i can upload them and get things rolling for you guys?

Portrait version
thanks showacco i'll get them up tomorrow afternoon,
and hopefully i'll get that programs section by then lol... i pulled an all nighter last night setting up the new server so i'm going to bed earlly tonight
i have tons of apps...is there a prerequisite that they have to be legal?
jdoggraz has a great mediafire folder FULL (231!) of great apps for the Dash here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=0457d1314f141cc2ab1eab3e9fa335ca49378675f9b7568a
Yes, they need to be legal. and i'll take a look at the mediafire drive, thanks.
Just letting you guys know, i uploaded some stuff but i'm not going to be able to finish tonight... i just had to transfer everything to a new server and doctor up some code. I'll talk to ather about getting some stuff done tonight by him and hopefully we will have something up this weekend
Download link added (the server isn't all set up yet but will be shortly)
See post one.
i got a "404 error the requested document was not found on the server" im running kavana's latest rom not v24 ricky stylez(sorry stylez) the latest version that recentley came out
i think you need to make the windows symbol a little bit smaller its kind of too big, i'll let you know more later i know its not fully completed.
was the error after clicking start?
if so that is correct, i only have one page up so that i know how large i need to make the images (you should not have to scroll side to side) (although you may need to scroll up and down on the smartphone version... unless we change the layout)
Updates:
WOrking on widescreen display for smarphone see post one

I took the liberty to start a wiki for Android on the Rhodium. I dont know everything and this is my first attempt at something like this so please edit anything I screwed up

Cool! Hey I had a spare few minutes at work so I updated and re-organized some things. Go through and check my re-wordings etc to make sure I'm not spreading lies!
I'm not technically geeky enough to help out with development so I figured this is the least I can do. If we keep up with this, it can be very useful. I know the devs are so busy tinkering with things that typing up documentation can be a chore.
Thanks for updating the wiki. I to am not geeky enough
Good idea to start one on XDA. If you need more stuff like FAQs and links for the XDA wiki page, there's the Android on HTC wiki here which has some of that kind of stuff. If you'd like, I'll try to help keep the XDA one maintained with current info whenever I update the one on Android on HTC
The more help the better. I did put a link to your site too
I agree, I know that other wiki was out there...but I think it's good to have it here at XDA.
The more hands on this, the more up to date it will be.
I wanted to chip in, but I don't want to speak for every TP2 owner out there, so I had this morsel of info:
My TP2 (a Tilt2, actually) does NOT need to be plugged in prior to booting Haret to gain charging capability. XDAndroid is able to use the charger no matter what. There's just no orange light.
I was able to verify that in Spare Parts. Not sure if it's JUST the Tilt2, or if it's every TP2 out there.
loving the wiki...thanks and keep up the great work
I added The Front Buttons Keymap layout to the Wiki juts in case people Would like to know
I just want to say thanks to everyone for helping with this. I think this has turned out really well its simple, straight forward and still very informative. Keep up the good work.
also Ive been adding peoples names as they contribute. If Ive added you and you wish to be removed please let me know.
Ive added the CDMA installation instructions to the wiki. If any one sees that i've screwed them up let me know and I'll correct it or feel free to correct it yourself. I do not have a cdma version of the TP2 so this is based on my quick research on the matter
I'm attempting to compile AOKP and I keep getting this error
Code:
Checking build tools versions...
build/core/base_rules.mk:171: *** hardware/ti/omap4xxx/domx/domx: MODULE.TARGET.SHARED_LIBRARIES.libdomx already defined by device/amazon/otter-common/domx/domx. Stop.
Side note when compiling from "lunch" I cannot get "aokp_otter2-userdebug" to work. Only when I use "full_otter2-userdebug"
Does it make a difference?
This is only the second time I have attempted a build. First one being CM10.1 after following Hashcodes guide in the CM10.1 thread.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
okay solved both of those problems only to run into some more.
Problem 1:
Not being able to compile aokp_otter2-debug
Fix:
Added
Code:
PRODUCT_MAKEFILES := $(LOCAL_DIR)/aokp.mk
to the AndroidProducts.mk file
Problem 2:
Code:
Checking build tools versions...
build/core/base_rules.mk:171: *** hardware/ti/omap4xxx/domx/domx:
MODULE.TARGET.SHARED_LIBRARIES.libdomx already defined by device/amazon/otter-common/domx/domx. Stop.
Fix:
Changed /hardware/ti/omap4xxx/domx Android.mk to
Code:
ifeq ($(TI_CUSTOM_DOMX_PATH),)
include $(all-subdir-makefiles)
endif
now onto the new errors...but at least it started compiling
Okay on to the next error while compiling...
Code:
Export includes file: frameworks/native/opengl/libs/Android.mk -- out/target/product/otter2/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/libGLESv2_intermediates/export_includes
make: *** No rule to make target `out/target/product/otter2/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/libwpa_client_intermediates/export_includes', needed by `out/target/product/otter2/obj/SHARED_LIBRARIES/libhardware_legacy_intermediates/import_includes'. Stop.
It stops right there
I think I know where this originates but I don't know where to look to fix it
external/wpa_supplicant_8/wpa_supplicant/Android.mk
and i have looked over it the best that I could and compared it to the same file in CM10.1 and everything looks the same. But I can't seem to find an error...ohh well still looking

Status of KF2 devs as of now....
Hashcode - Working on all 3 devices, very knowledgeable and experienced. Will most likely help on IRC if on, but hard to find an usually busy doing the work for all us happy consumers
Powerpoint45 - Usually busy, not often around to talk, but will post in the forums now and then and sometimes in IRC. He knows a bit about building ROMs, and probably would be of help to you, unfortunately, I'd say he's harder to contact than Hashcode.
FMKilo - IS NOT A DEV. That's what he says. He knows a bit around scripting and such, but like me, his kindle knowledge is mostly common sense and paying attention. Granted, he's usually on IRC, probably the easiest to get in contact with, and if you're not being super dumb, always willing to help. Even though he's not REALLY a dev, he could answer most questions that seem complex to most people, but are really simple things he already knows about.
idontwanttobeanoob - Don't know much about him really, but he's the only one besides PPT (powerpoint45) to start making a ROM, until you. You two might be able to help each other, and for anyone else reading this, feel free to help him with MIUI or possibly learn together.
ANNNNNNNNNND,
that's it.
If you're a dev, feel free to rage at me, but you've been much to quiet and I think I comb these boards well enough. So, you're not being ignored, but there just aren't many around this community yet. I think we should encourage more people getting their own things working and sharing with the rest though. Maybe some new people can learn a bit more and become known devs. Plus in this small community it'd be easier to get known for releasing a cool ROM (bonus points for naming it MooRom)

I'm not worried about being ignored...this is helping me through the process. I can see what I had to do/redo in case of system failure (unlikely but still I can read back). I just need to see if I can do this, its just something I've wanted to do and finally just dove in. Like I said the first time I attempted a build was just last week...and it was pretty much cut and paste code. So I tried something a little harder it may or may not pan out in the end. But thanks for posting on here letting me know that someone else is reading this other than me :good:

Hey guys noticed the post and wanted to let you know im more then willing to help out, resources are a bit limited on my end(I've got a ****ty laptop) but im here alot even if it doesn't say I am cause I forget to log in. Ill re read through the current issues and when I get up tomorrow ill start researching and see if we can get this going for ya( btw the miui rom might have to wait till miui comes up with an update, due to some of the current errors that are build based)
well took care of that error.
missing the wpa_supplicant_8_to folder
on to the next compile...fingers crossed
Simple (and maybe stupid) question...
I was looking for a rom, and google show me this:
http://www.lollipop-roms.org/mp3-0/acer-iconia-tab-a100-3841.html
Just for curiosity tried to download it, but fail...
Anyway... i donĀ“t believe about that page... but can someone check about it?
Thanks!!!
Since the second line is "I rewrite this tutorial from forum.xda-developers.com" and it is clearly NOT from here, I think you can assume the rest has very little truth to it.
It's definitely fake. The text looks like it's been generated with some bot and just filled in or then copied from another, similar text, and then they just added those scam links. You need to complete a survey which means paying money for like an SMS service or app download that will charge you a lot of money. A friend fell to one of those, and he got 3x45 euros bill from his operator for trying to download a pirated APK through a similar site. He got to the download all right after entering his phone number, but the apk he got was malware that installed ad downloaders and tracking apps on his phone, added shortcuts and sent his logs somewhere to China (Southern China if I remember correctly).
So yeah, anything that looks fishy and is not from a popular, widely-used site like XDA forums or the other similar forums, is mostly always a fake in this case too...
I was also looking for a Lollipop ROM for the Iconia and stumbled upon this, noticed only now how old the thread is, but whatever

Hi there, I still have a A100, very robust tablet, it never gave me any headaches... I recently installed a A500 Omniron 5.1.1 and it booted, went to the initial android setup screen and stucked there because the touchscreen driver does not work on A100... but all buttons, wifi, usb seems to work well, only the touchscreen is the matter... does anyone here knows how to solve that ? I read some threads about compiling the kernel, but if that is the solution I would need tips or help... at least there is yes a light in the end of the tunnel to make A100 work with Lollipop 5.1.1....

Yeah it's a good little device!
Impressive that they work! Bluetooth too?
The last time I compiled the kernel was for Android 2.3.7 and that was ages ago But you could maybe try to find the touch driver location on the device through ADB shell (exploring it's contents) or the downloaded package. Then after that's found, you could try pushing the working drivers from an earlier version, like 4.3, through ADB also and then reboot the device to see if it does anything! I can't for my life remember how they're supposed to be put there the real way but this is just a quick thought..lol.. anyone else have ideas?
