camera pics come out green since froyo - Desire General

Hey
I am using the rooted standard froyo and since i upgraded to it im noticing that any photos i take with the flash ON come out green. very very green. If it take the photo without the flash its fine. Ive tested this in several different places under several different light sources and the pic always comes out green when i have the flash on. I terms of settings, i can confirm brightness, contrast, sharpness and saturation are all set to 0, and effect is set to none. White bal and ISO = auto and all the rest of the settings are also default i beleive
Does anyone know why this is happening? It makes my camera unusable :s

Do you use a rooted or stock ROM? For this rooted Rom there is a fix in the first post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775

I experienced this issue *once* before the Froyo update with the video recorder: half of the video ended up bright green. It happened one time after the update as well, but with the regular camera. No idea why, bizarre behavior

This is hilarious.

Wave Photocamera Problem..

Kids is a week I try to solve all the way! We expose the problem.
Basically, the wave in question was purchased with the firmware already installed and KA1 them since there were no problems whatsoever. I decided to put the JID and I noticed that the pictures were very blurry. So I decide to go through official KA1 JH3 JI1 full and lite and then I put the KA1 Kies.
Everything ok, phone ready. Retry the camera and know the kind of fault of blurry photos. I go through the secret menu to control the camera's firmware in the phone and see that there is a new version of firmware is installed but the old one. To update the firmware of the camera and everything goes well. I open the camera and this time the photos are good but appeared two other problems:
- When I select "macro" in the right toolbar, the focus does not change and I have to do it manually focus the camera key. I can also do macros, but I have to do to focus myself with the key. Before hand, had a sort of "pre-fire" just select the macro function.
- If I flash pictures during the focus light is as strong as ever, but it has just shot a light intensity as low as if at the time of the shooting received little voltage to light.
Afflicted with these two problems by Multiloader try again in vain to call JID. Did not change anything and so I went KA1 Journal. I tried to follow the recovery process with the camera driver that is driving in relief (fix error camera) but just gave me the opening "camera error" and therefore ripristinai backups of my driver.
I do not know what to do, give me a hand. I know they are problems to be nothing, but after spending 300 euro stayed there this lily if I can not fix probably sell it.

USA TMobile G2, Keyboard Backlight Stopped Working After OTA Upgrade to 2.3.4

Hi Everyone!
So i got the OTA 2.3.4 upgrade for my TMobile G2 a couple of weeks ago and my keyboard backlight stopped working, I have seen many threads about this all over the internet (and very few actually here) but no one knows a solution to the issue yet. I was hoping someone can guide me here how to fix this. I know ultimate way to fix is to downgrade to Froyo.
I also have all the other issues that came with this "HTC screwed with" version of Android like constantly forceclosing with the dumb Tell HTC button, navigation icon disappearing when GPS chip is off, typing E sends me to short cuts, etc. The only real problem is the keyboard backlight because it has made the phone useless to me.
Thanks!
USA TMobile G2
Never Rooted.
OTA Upgrade to Android 2.3.4 with stupid Tell HTC app the only HTC footprint in the phone which is continuously freezinfg and forceclosing my apps.
Kernel 2.6.35.10-g96de068
Build Number 2.15.531.3 CL82286
Baseband 12.52.60.25U_26.08.04.30_M3
Without knowing too much about this particular issue (haven't heard of it personally) I'd say to do a factory reset, and/or dive into your auto backlight settings. The keyboard lights are tied to ambient light sensor.
Are you opposed to rooting? Sounds like you're having a lot of problems with your stock setup...

Actually the light sensor doesn't work either, I put the phone to my ear and my cheek starts dialing becuz the screen doesn't turn off, aft a minute it does automatically though. Then I pull the phone away from my face to hang up or dial an extenstion and the screen is off, I have to push the power button and slide to unlock.
I had rooted my old G1 and I had so many issues and speed problems that I figured I don't do that to this phone, it worked almost perfect with Froyo with a few issues but this one without keyboard backlit is 100% useless.
There is no setting in my setup for keyboard backlight or light sensor.
Well it definitely isn't a keyboard issue then, its a light sensor issue.
I'm not aware of any way to calibrate a light sensor etc. but maybe someone can add their input on that.
I know that if you are willing and able to root, you can flash a pre-rooted stock ROM or custom ROM and you won't have this problem.
I just found out when I change the screen brightness the keyboard light turns on, after I finish typing shut the keyboard and open again it doesn't turn on anymore. I can go back to home page tap the screen brightness on the widget and turn the keyboard light back on again.
Sorry to Bump! But please help! I tried rooting my phone but its just too many steps. I installed Android SDK which is hundreds of megabytes and was stuck there. Too difficult to use (I rooted my G1 many many times and installed various ROMs including CM7 so I am very familiar with rooting). I tried rebooting and erasing the phone to factory setting and still the same issue.

[Q] White Vs. Black Rom & Display Questions

Hi Guys,
I am coming from an Epic 4g.
I picked up a white & black phone last night. White came with El29 pre-installed and black poped up system update. I ran it and i saw that it did update however the KERNAL and BUILD stayed on EK02. I know I can use Odin to update that however I am just wondering why would it not update everything?..
It also didn't update the TouchWiz because the green phone button is different on the two.
Second Q is that the black vs white display set to the same settings, the white is a notch brighter than the black, but if you set it to max the display is the same... Could that be because the kernals are different?
Thanks.
Sounds like the update didn't install correctly, or at all.

I believe the updates are randomly picked by serial numbers, the pushed to the corresponding phone. Could just be that it was the white ones time. Just wait a little while, the updates only recently started rolling out.
And about the brightness- Im no expert, but I remember reading somewhere here that you can tweak brightness settings from the kernel level. Calks Rom has been changed so that the lowest brightness can be turned even lower for example. Hope this makes sense.

[Q] camera

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out. It seems that whenever I take pictures with my e4gt they look fine on the phone, and then when i download them to my computer they look fine when i'm looking at them on the computer, but then when i try to print them the pictures come out really dark (even if i take the pictures with flash). I thought it was my printer but this doesn't happen when i take pictures with my cybershot so i don't think it's my printer. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this?
Thanks,
Mason
Turn on out door visibility and see what happens
From the 2nd galaxy
Just tried that, the picture came out the same as before, maybe a little darker...
I have a few ideas.
Turning on "auto contrast" seemed to make mine a little brighter, even though that's not what that tool is supposed to do.
Also, if you go to white balance you can see settings for the environment where you are shooting. Daylight, cloudy, incandescent, and others. Also, you might be able to change exposure value, too.
Well, just try and screw around in the settings until it brightens, or just use something like Paint.NET or Photoshop to brighten them.
I've tried that and I still have no luck, Also sometimes when I go to take pictures i notice a weird buzzing noise coming from the phone, maybe the camera is broken? I need to take in my phone for service anyway because the aux jack is messed up (in the headphones arn't in a certain way you start to hear loud crackles) so maybe they can fix this too...If anyone has any other ideas that i can try out until i get a chance to take the phone in let me know I would definitely love to get at least the camera working, or maybe i just have to wait till sprint finally rolls out an ics update to get it fixed..i love this phone but the camera, aux and gps issues are killing me
Our camera software sucks!
It doesn't sound like anyone else is having this issue. You never told us what rom you're using for this. Some developers may make changes to the camera app in their roms. You may also want to try a stock rom to address this because photos print fine from my custom stock based rom. Have you had the opportunity to try a different printer btw? Take the photos to work and print a couple off there.
I'm currently running a el29 stock rooted, is there another rom i should try?

Weird screen dimming on bright screens

So in the last few days I've noticed something strange. Anytime I have a bright image like a white screen or the sepia or white backgrounds in Kindle, the entire screen dims and brightens randomly. Its an extremely small change, but it is noticeable. I don't have content adaptive brightness or auto brightness active, so I know its not that. I tried different bright levels and get the same result. If the screen is a dark image, like dark mode on Tapatalk, I can't see any flicker whatsoever. I have tried a clean install of PA 3.57 with AK SKL 256, and its still the same. It also doesn't seem to matter if I just picked the phone up or have been using it a while.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what's happening? Should I start looking for a new phone cause mine is dying, or is this normal somehow and I just never noticed, or could it even be an app specific thing?
Thanks for any help!!
PS: I just saw it flickering minutes ago on Kindle and Chrome (imdb website which has LOTS of white) but right now typing this post on Tapatalk I don't see any flicker, and as most of you know that's a white background.

I too have noticed this when using my phone on minimum brightness. I used since the last 21 days PA ROM, always the latest and AK SKL 256. I noticed it on websites with alot white on the screen. I do have content adaptive brightness enabled, and auto brightness disabled.
And please, just keep your phone till it's dead Mabey everyone has this but no1 has ever noticed this untill just now
So it seems to be getting worse. Now pretty much as soon as I open a white screen it starts flickering and seems to be dimming darker as well. I've been using PA, what are the odds its a ROM issue? Nobody else has reported it but I think I'm gonna flash to stock and see what happens.
Also, bump.
I "think" its fixed now. I flashed back to stock, had a totally clean phone, then flashed PA back and copied over just what I needed to the sdcard and I haven't seen the flicker come back. The clean flash made the vibration much stronger on the phone so I guess it's conceivable a screen problem was fixed too. I must've had something really messed up in there.......
