You can remove them using adb or if you have "s-off" you can just delete the .apk's

Using adb ??? do i need root to do so ? also i have s-on and i am affraid to brick my new phone.
You have to root to remove preinstalled apps.

Ok thanks for the info....but what is adb ?
Edit: Found it i think http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502010
Another question (sorry). If i use a custom rom (need to root first and do s-off) and don't want to use it anymore....can i flash back to stock rom ? also if i do that i lose my root and s-off right ? so i need to re-do that.
Also i am from Europe (as you see in my profile) what version from this topic do i need ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
My device is NOT branded and simlock free. So i am guessing i need the WWE ?
PS: If i root with unrevoked, do i get backup tool ?

You don't need s-off to remove htc apps, just root. Only if you want to remove from a running system.
If you revert to stock you lose root, s-off and you get htc apps back.
You can use any gsm rom, only orange uk users need to be wary about the radio they flash i think (correct me if i'm wrong).
You cannot backup until after root, but then any recovery offers nandroid backup, and titanium backup offers apps and settings backup on any rooted rom.

Those backups nandroid/titanium .... i need to pay/download them manually or are they included after rooting with unrevoked3 ? i have readed somewhere unrevoked added a recovery too.
Also after root i don't get future updates from HTC right ??? People said if they use S-Off and get a update from HTC they might change the HBoot and lose S-Off again......i wonder how that is possible if they can't get updates after root.
Sorry for all those questions, this is my first Android/Linux device and i am new with this.

No problems in asking questions this is the reason that XDA exsist
Nandroid backup: download Rom manager from market (free) and install clockworkmod recovery from within the app, reboot into recovery and do a FREE nandroid backup.
*edit you could also skip the Rom manager and just use the unrevoked recovery, it's up to you
Titanium: free version has restrictions, not sure what because I don't use it.
BTW you will basically update from XDA after using a custom Rom, the developers usually update their custom roms after an official update.
hope this helps

[Q] Quick Question about Nandroid with S-Off and H-Off

Rooted and have S-Off and H-Off now.
Flashed new Kernel.
So if I do a Nandroid Backup now.
Does the backup retain my S-Off and H-Off?

It doesn't backup those two partitions at all. So as long as you don't do anything to them after the nandroid they will remain.
Thanks for the response.
What I really meant was that niw I've got S-off and H-boot done. If I'd to do a nandroid backup and explore sone other things (e.g upgrade to current OTA rom).
If I'd recover from this nandroid backup, would my recovered ROM srill have S-off and H-boot?
I'm thinking that I'd still be able to recover root and S-off capabilities but perhaps not H-boot.

Why don't you make a Radio S-OFF/Super CID also? And flash the update using the guide that allows you to keep root, Eng S-OFF, and H-boot capabilities? That's exactly what I did, and it works fine.
Hi
So I need super CID?
I'm still new at this stuff so will go dig up in it. If you could direct me to a specific thread it'll be great! Thanks.

^^ sure thing buddy first this guide for root(super user access), h-boot eng s-off. Don't worry about the top section on custom ROMS. Just start from where it says Method 1 and go to the end of the page:
http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/desire_hd_installing_roms
then this guide for Radio s-off
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
Make absolutely sure you have radio s-off before loading the 1.72xxx update/ROM or any custom ROMs based on 1.72xxx build or otherwise you will not be able to get radio s-off and will also loose full root access. To test s-off do this. Power off device. Hold down volume down and tap power button once to enter bootloader. Once it loads up it should say eng s-off at the top. Then go to system info (or something like that) using the volume up & down to change up or down and tap the power button to select. Under system info it will say CID:1111111 (not sure how many 1's but you get the idea. If it says anything different such as next to CID you do not have radio s-off. For example CID-VODAP021 is s-on stock Vodafone Australia. CID:HTC__001 is stock unbranded with s-on.

[Q] Need to restore a Desire Z on Virtuous back to Bell stock

Hey Guys,
With the exception of the unlock, how can I restore a Visionary perma-rooted Desire Z w/S-OFF back to the stock Bell firmware and S-ON.
Thanks!
Update:
I looked at my friends phone in Bootloader:
Vision PVT SHIP (I take it that's original bootloader)
S-OFF
HBOOT 0.85.005
Device was rooted with Visionary and has newest Virtuous ROM on it.
Need to restore to Bell original.
User doesn't remember EVER uploading a new bootloader / eng / spl any of that.
There is a guide to remove permaroot here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835971
Should be the same process but with different Firmware of course (Bell rather than the TMobile G2 Firmware)
Visionary can unroot the phone...but will I be able to boot back into Virtuous after unrooting? Can I not just run the RUU after using Visionary to unroot? Those are the concerns I have.

Problem is that as far as I know we don't have an RUU or ROM image for the shipping Bell ROM. Before you flash any custom ROM you should always do a nandroid backup so you can easily restore. If you don't have a nandroid backup then all you can do is return to a pre-release Bell ROM.

If u have made a nandroid backup u can do a nandroid restore to return back to stock.
And if u havent done, then u can flash rooted official roms (=safe zip files. NOT RUUs).
U can find them here under section 5:

Reboot to custom recovery and explore it. U will see the option to nandroid backup.
Edit: Nandroid backup done from a stock rom only returns to stock rom. I hope u know that.
Nandroid backup done from a particular rom can restore to that particular rom only.

Like i said If u have made nandroid backup when u r on stock rom, then that nandroid restore will get back u to that stock rom. And yes along with all the apps previously installed. U can also back up those 3rd party apps only.
And remember before nandroid restore, factory reset / wipe data / wipe cache needed. All can be done from the recovery itself.

If you run into problems (There are some version of 1.01.0002 that doesn't work), you will have to downgrade to 1.01.0001. Guide here:

I was astounded that it (AlphaRevX) worked. I was literally only two days away from paying out a big sum of cash for the use of an XTC Clip from some guy in the city centre. I was so happy, and with the help of the lovely people here on XDA Developers and the AlphaRev IRC I was able to make it happen.
Apparently I was one of the first thirty people in the public beta. I was very happy indeed. Personally, I recommend AlphaRevX for all users. It's very fast indeed, and powerful, and I'm loving the freedom.

You can't take a nandroid backup on a non-rooted 816 with locked HBOOT and S-ON. So the only valid option is flashing an RUU. In principle you could also flash separate system, HBOOT, RADIO etc images but that will not change the contents of HTC 816's THREE security partitions
