[Q] Opera 9.5 browser question - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I've seen a ton of links for every possible Opera 9.5 version except 9.5.17658 which was the stock version on my Tilt2 before I upgraded to 9.7. Long story short... Every version of 9.7 I've tried has had it's own issues... some small .. some not so small and I've been considering 'downgrading' to what was on the phone originally but can't find a .cab file for it..... any ideas?

The last resort would be to hard reset.

Extracting myfaves to put on my 8525

i apologize if this is the wrong forum for this. has anyone had any success trying to extract the myfaves today plugin application from the wing/herald? i want to put it on my 8525. i dumped the .bin file from this thread and copied all the 'myfaves*' and 'my5*' files to the /windows directory and ran the myfaves .exe file and still no luck. there is even a myfaves service that i enabled and still no luck. i dont have much experience here. can someone lend a hand?
anybody??? .....
Sorry for bringing back an old thread but i am curious if this has been done yet?
I'm interested in this as well.
From what I read on another thread. It can't be done but also not necessary. You can have my Fave 5 without having a my fave 5 phone. You can Check or Change yoru 5 via logging into tmobile account and changing it online. Having the My fave 5 app on your phone is only convient to Change it from your phone. No Big deal seeing that you can only Change it once a Month Anyway
Download Opera 9 for PC and import favorites on desktop then sync with opera online, then load up Opera Mini 4 on WM5/6 and sync favorites.
You can also sync fav's w/activesync for iexplorer. Opera 8.65 for wm5/6 will import your iexplorer favorites also.
Good luck
Chris
see this thread to get myFaves working on your phone. I have it working on my unlocked Tilt now...

do you have TMobile or AT&T
Apparently that cab that was made was missing some DLL files ... so I corrected that problem... here's the fixed cab...

I have T-Mobile. the only reason my phone says AT&T is because I actually work for an AT&T authorized retailer, and I don't want customers seeing T-Mobile on my display. and thanks to the Personaliser cab I am able to do that.
I'll give it a try. The last thread posted before the CAB link led to a package that kept crashing on my 8525.
Okay I installed the cab file on my 8525 and it works, but it crashes after a minute or so. It maintains fine on my Today screen, but when I'm trying to edit the profiles of my MyFaves contacts it reports that the application had an error and needed to close.
I managed to get everything updated quickly between crashes, but the application works though.
I'm still running the stock ROM that came with the phone when I got it a couple days ago:
ROM version: 3.57.502.1
Radio: 1.48.00.00
WM6 version: 5.2.1437 (build 17944.0.3.1)
Anyone know of a good, stable, and fast cooked ROM for the 8525 that they would recommend, could you send me a PM with a link?
which one did you install? The first version posted was missing DLL files ... which i added here http://rapidshare.com/files/94439605/MyFaves__dD_.cab.html
See if that works? I dont have myfaves on my plan, so I've never used it.
I installed the link you just posted and its doing the same thing on my phone.
UPDATE 2/26/08:
I updated my phone with the latest AT&T 8525 standard release:
ROM version: 3.62.502.3
Radio version: 1.57.07.00
WM6 version: 5.2.1622 (Build 18128.0.4.4)
I reinstalled the MyFaves cab and it works beautifully! It appears my previous ROM image was pretty horrid - had issues with GPRS/EDGE and auto-switching to WiFi all the time. Now I don't have those issues, and it runs sooo much quicker.

Opera in Dutty's ROM & offical ROM.

I wounder if any body can help with my problem.
I was running Dutty's 1.8V ROM for a while & every thing was working fine in Opera with a Flash plugin.
Things started playing up a bit so I've reflashed my Diamond with the official ROM 1.93.456.2 WWE. The Opera browser has been changed to 9.5 build 2392 with both Adobe Flash-lite 3.1 & FP7 PPC.
Now I can't seem to get flash video's working like they were before, also the keyboard keeps appearing for no reason & Opera randomly closes by itself.
Is there a reason for these problems or have I a wrong version of Opera/Flash plugin installed.
Thanks,
Andy.
Anybody had similar problems?
if it helps, you can get the version of Opera Dutty uses in his ROMs from his website under downloads
Thanks for the reply.
I've tried installing the Opera on Duttys site, but still have the same issues.

Opera 15316 & working flash plugin?

Does anybody has a flawless working flash plugin?
i've asked me this too but i don't think so!
Afraid not As I understand it...at this time full Flash support just isn't possible on a pocket PC yet.
Regards,
Rolf
Well, I had a flash-cab which was working, but very slow with another Opera version.
Now I installed the update and another flash cab, but it doesn't work. I can't activate plugins in the opera settings. There's always an error on flash websites.
Bad luck.
This version of Opera isn't recommended, because it freezes when exiting.
Back to old version.
And it's not an issue of the Ati-Drivers ! (tested)

Backup original Cincinnati Bell HTC S621 rom

I tried to search the forums but have no idea how to backup my original rom from the HTC S621 WM6.0 from cincinnati Bell.
I read instructions for hermes etc nothing for excalibur , do I use procread?
Didn't even know CB carried the S621. If you flash with hard spl first, you don't need to worry about having to restore to a CB flash if you mess up a flash. Beside, I doubt you'll want to go back to WM6.0 after trying out WM6.1.

I am trying out kavana 6.1 on one of them but its a memory hog and running opera on the java kills the machine. I love the sliding home theme in there.
I just want to backup just in case I want to go back =to the original flash which has been more stable. they have had it for a year now. now they finally added more win mob phones like diamond and stuff
Do a search for the pagepool changer (linked in the Ricky and Stylez remake of the NRG ROM thread). Use that to change the pagepool of the Kavana ROM to 4.5mb and you'll have about 25mb free on startup. I'd also try out Ricky's v24 remake of that ROM, which includes some other applications in it that you may find useful. It supposedly runs well with a 4.5mb pagepool as well.

So... how can we backup the orignal rom
Hi there, I just bought the excalibur a few days ago and I want to update it.
But as kojigushi has said, I want to backup the orignal rom from Mexico Telcel carrier, for garanty issues if necesssary. What tool can I use to backup and then to restore it???

Some help needed

Hi guys. New to the forum.
Here's the deal.
Got a HTC touch diamond (below spec.) last week. Got it second hand and it seem to me it works pritty slugish. I mean it takes like 1-2 seconds before the phone recognize I'm trying to slide on the quick links menu in the bottom. Also the free memory after a cleanRam secion is abt 20 MB. Also smtimes the phone would not respond and nothing would help but removing the battery.
Can you please sujjest what the reason might be is it a bad ROM? Does win 6.1 work better on the Diamond as it comes with it preinstalled? Looking for some advise before changing the ROM.
T-Mobile MDA Vario IV
Bluetooth version - 2.0/2.0+EDR
O.S. Version: Win Mob 6.5 professional
CE O.S. 5.2.28011 (28011.5.5.0)
Manila version 2.5.19211619.0
ROM 28011_KH WWE
Radio version 1.09.25.23
Protocol version 52.51.25.26H
Thanks in advance!
ROM
WM6.1 is not as quick as 6.5, but it should not be taking as long as you are describing to do anything
Chances are there is a piece of software installed making the phone sluggish, you can remove programs just like a PC in the phones settings, have a look down the list and see if there is anything there you dont want
If you choose to upgrade to WM6.5 I highly recommend "BsBG 6.5" from this link
I have tried 100's of ROMs and this is the only one where everything works flawlessly on it (Dont forget to Flash the unlocked Radio and Security unlock the phone before upgrading)
