Consider it an ALPHA release. Many drivers aren't working.

[Q] ICS camera Drivers

Hey guys I just flashed a sense 4.0 ROM but the cam doesn't work I was wondering if I could use the drivers from the Stock ICS camera from the ROM that I was using (ICECREAM JIBWICH 2.0 ) because it has a woking camera ?
Well if you know how to pull the drivers from the stock rom and put them onto a custom rom go for it. But I have not had camera problems on either the CyanogenMod 9 beta 13, nor the EliteMod ICS rom I'm using now on my G2.
There is no stock ics rom for our phones. The camera that is working with some custom ics roms are patched/hacked and not yet 100% the only ones that work are all compilled from the same rom and will not work across a different base. If you have a sense rom that you like you need to have a hacked camera for that rom. If it were as easy as stealing a cm9 based camera mod and putting it in a sense rom it would be done by that rom developers by alapha.x
Until the drivers for ours or similar device is released we have to happy with what we get. And until then expect flaws

... use a different rom with it working well enough for your taste?
or wait untill the other HTC desire's (HD en S) get their official update to ics and the dev's port that to desire Z.

remove sense ui from stock rom

possible???

I think it's possible, but hard. It'd easier to just install CM 7.2, it's almost a stock Android 2.3 rom, it is as close to vanilla Android as possible.
But if you don't want to change your rom, check out these:

[Q] Is anyone still updating CM9 or ICS AOSP based ROMs?

I need to run the ICS version of AOSP because the JB version doesn't have USB-DAC yet.
The most recent AOSP ROM I've been able to find is this one:
cm-9-20120916-NIGHTLY-d2att
That is the 9/16/2012 version of CyanogenMOD 9. Does anyone know if any dev's anywhere have continued updating the ICS AOSP ROM's? Could you provide a link or filename that I can google?
I've searched everything I can think of and I'm pretty sure I'm on the most recent release. But thought I'd reach out again to double-check.
Nope. Everyone is now focused on 4.2 Jellybean.

[Q] The best Jelly Bean ROM?

Hello Guys!!
Recently I've decided to root my DHD and flash a custom ROM. I prefer Jelly Bean roms but I don't know which is the best.
So, could you recommend me which rom to use? Maybe JellyTime or MIUI rom, it doesn't matter. I just want a stable and fully working rom without bugs.
Or maybe i should use ICS rom?
Waiting for opinions
codefireX 4.2.1 nightlies if you want the latest version of Android, though Bluetooth doesn't work yet.
codefireX 4.1.2 Periodicals if you want everything working.

4.2.1 nightlies? But I don't think we have any nightlies for 4.2.1

Sorry, they're not nightlies. Wrong term. But synergye releases a new build every day or two anyway so they can be counted as such.

So, codefireX is the best among JB roms? Is it better and faster than JellyTime and other roms?
It depends on which version of android you want
JellyTime for instance is 4.1.2
CodefireX is 4.2.1
I have tried them both and they are quite nice
I for obvious reasons want 4.2.1 as it is the latest version
JellyTime is a unofficial Cyanogenmod
CodefireX has its custom mods named the CodefireX Toolchain
However sins sunday someone has released an unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1 which is running on android 4.2.1.
It can be found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073992
Im using it right now and i am rather impressed i recommend this one .
Pesonally I prefer the 4.1.2 CodefireX Periodicals, great performance, good battery life and nearly 100% bulletproof/stable. Highly reccomended with one of these Themes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864549
Correct me wrong, but I thing that volume speaker is not working on 4.1.2. Just a word of warning to everyone!
so far i still use the JellyTime R30....i've been using this ROM since R19
on its latest version, it has good battery life, fast response, good radio even though I have to upgrade my radio to 12.69a.60.29U_26.17.14.11_M
ever try install the codefirex but I forget the version (can't compare...sorry)....
I think Jellytime and Super Galaxy are one of the best JB roms out there. I have tried quite a few. Codefire X is good too but I like JB and Super Galaxy better.

[Q] Stable daily ROM recommendation?

Hello.
My friend asked me to reflash his Desire Z, so I'm looking for some stable daily ROM (ICS or higher).
For now I chosen:
MIUI 4.2.28 multi
AOSP 4.2.2 Jelly Baby (really not sure about this ROM)
Sensei 1.3.0
Sabsa Prime v15
any other tips?
Thanks
Normally best dd ROM questions are not to be asked, but I assume sense you are doing this for a friend you won't easily be able to flash a bunch and try them out as what is normally suggested
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348266
You will find a list of all ROMs here, many will say the most stable and fastest ROMs will be gingerbread based as that's as far as HTC brought this device. But many 4.x ROMs are quite nice for dds
Best recommendation is to flash a couple of the "more popular" ROMs and make nandroid of each and place on SD card, then instruct your friend how to easily change between them so s/he can decide for themselves what is best

Thanks for reply.
I know that it's not possible to say one ROM, but on the other hands always exist ROM which can't be marked as very stable (e.g. KitKats build now)
I really missed your list, thanks for info
(Because I already found some list, but it wasn't updated for a long time)
Anyway thanks for you work
BTW the first 3 ROMs has same link in your list
Also still I need to downgrade the firmware?
