Voice and Video support within web browser - Desire General

Since Google just gave us official voice and video support for Linux today and has updated Chrome and GTalk to also work on Linux with voice and video....
Could we have that for Android too?
I noticed all the google talk applications like nimbuzz and fring have been removed from the market today...prolly for an API change.

Gizmo5 WVGA Java client for Google Voice?

Anybody have a solution to get the Gizmo5 java client in WVGA resolution? I would like to answer my Google Voice calls on HD. Do I need Jbed in WVGA resolution for it, or does it depend on the right Gizmo5 java client?
Edit: Actually its easier to use Fring on WM over WiFi or 3G, and use their SIP feature to answer Google Voice calls routed through Gizmo5.

How is Youtube support?

Is there an app? Or do you have to use the touch Youtube site?
from what i've read, the first time you visit a youtube clip, it will ask you to download an extension, and after this it will play it like would any other video. it's not a seperate application persay, but merely just an extension to IE to allow you to play the youtube clips.
I could be wrong on this, but I have seen videos of youtube playing, so it's definitely there.

I just read on Wikipedia it will run it in a sort of media player app, but they state that Adobe Flash 10.1 is on the way so this could be improved, or hell, there is the possibility updates will bring Youtube apps and better support.
There is built-in support for viewing the videos, but Google will need to develop a separate Youtube app if you want the off-browser experience.

Chances are that Google are already working on an application for YouTube.
App in Marketplace that plays Youtube over 3g is craptastic, horrible quality over 3g. Seriously over 3g the quality is worse than on a Blackberry. WTF MS?
Microsoft doesn't own YouTube, so I dunno why you're asking them.
And the quality is probably poor because it's playing 240 or 360p version of the videos instead of HQ.
That's why Google needs to release a YouTube App.
Microsoft has more important things to worry about, like, the actual operating system.
The youtube experience on WP7 is amazing.. its the first phone i ever used that didn't require a full fledged app. I sort of like it that m.youtube.com works out of the box and there isn't "an app for that" - with that being said, people are free to use the youtube api and make their own apps and google may do just that. However with m.youtube.com the quality for me is amazing. I don't watch it over 3g since AT&T rapes us with 3g bandwidth costs but over wifi the quality is beautiful. M.youtube.com also works with your login id so you can easily play your favorite and surf the website. It isn't a pretty package, but hell, sometimes its better that the web integration works this well rather than waiting for a required app
Apparently the youtube app adjusts the video settings if not on wifi. Which doesn't make sense since my 3g connection can more than handle youtube....
Maybe contact the developer and see if we can get settings adjustments.
edit: nevermind, it lists microsoft as the developer so I guess maybe an update will help?

[Q] Google Music automaticlly share what your listening to with social sites?

Does anybody know of an app/plug-in for the default Google Play Music app on Jelly Bean 4.2.1 to share what your listening to automatically on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc? Something like we use to have on Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger where it changed your status automatically to whatever you where listening to at the time.
I think it should definitely be a feature in the future build for Google Play Music app if not already available right now, What do you think?

"WhatsMedia Audio and Voice Notes from WhatsApp" app recommendation

Hi Channel,
I want to make you aware of my application named "WhatsMedia Audio and Voice Notes from WhatsApp" for wearable Galaxy Watch Samsung.
I'm a software developer and I'm addicted to the Samsung world.
So when 6 months ago I bought my wonderful Samsung Active 2 I was really surprised about some apps laking.
Since Active 2 supported integrated speaker, one really application really I missed was to listen to Audio message from WhatsApp at least.
Of course, I missed WhatsApp application, in general, running my smartWatch, but I thought it was a pity that I wasn't able to listen at least my audio message.
So finally I started to develop something and finally, I came out with my application on Galaxy Store and Google Play store.
My WhatsMedia lets you receive WhatsApp Audio and Voice Notes media directly to your wearable Galaxy Watch (not only Active 2) !
This wearable app is a Companion Application so it requires installing the relative Companion app on your Android smartphone downloaded from Google Play Store.
The only requirement is to have both Samsung devices and Tizen version > 4.0.0 and at least a Samsung Watch with the speaker !
The app full support notifications and run background support.
This the list of all the features supported by my WhatsMedia application:
Listen to Vocal Note from WhatsApp and Audio from WhatsApp
Full Audio control and monitor:
Up to 15 media files stored locally to listen
Contact name and Icon from WhatsApp
Delete single file audio using more option or all audio files at once
Sadly at the moment is not possible to reply to the audio message with another audio message through WhatsMedia application on your smartwatch.
I still figure it out if this is really possible, but the integration depends on Android OS and WhatsApp app.
Simple tutorial on how to install and test the Samsung smartwatch application "WhatsMedia Audio and Voice Notes from WhatsApp" on youtube
You can install WhatsMedia app using Galaxy store searching for WhatsMedia
Of course, the application is not perfect, but I work actively to improve and to fix issues on my application.
Feel free to contact me for any information, request or doubt at my email [email protected]
Enjoy and stay safe!
Any chance you could make WhatsApp calling work?

Cannot find the watch app in Galaxy store, even the link in the phone app points to an unknown app. I am located in Germany if this is important.
