Anybody have a solution to get the Gizmo5 java client in WVGA resolution? I would like to answer my Google Voice calls on HD. Do I need Jbed in WVGA resolution for it, or does it depend on the right Gizmo5 java client?
Edit: Actually its easier to use Fring on WM over WiFi or 3G, and use their SIP feature to answer Google Voice calls routed through Gizmo5.

Nope. The post may as well be deleted as spam...
Guys anyone know of a good UPNP/DNLA client for windows mobile?
Would be fantastic
bump bump, please someone reply if you know it.
Bump indeed
Somebody must have a upnp server in home and using a winmo device to access
The i900 (Omnia) looks like it's the only WM device that has DLNA certification and it's as a media server. I'm not sure if it can also be used as a controller/renderer.
My old S60 N95 had DLNA certification as a media server but could also act as a controller and worked as a renderer for some formats.
The only working one I know of and use is the Network plugin for the Pocket Player media player. The plugin is not included in the standard edition, but a free download. It enables you to access your media server over Wifi. I use TwonkyMedia as media servers on my Vista desktop PC and on my Linux NAS (network harddisk).
The Coreplayer people for a long time now promise UPnP support in Coreplayer, but have not delivered yet.
Pocket Player works great for audio, but is there anything out there for video as well?
hey, try this and see if you can make it works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629247
As my HD is on the way, I would like to get some nice apps downloaded.
I do the following thing with my current ppc (xda mini):
mp3 player (auto off function, needed for sleeping with music)
Ebook reader (txt,html, chm, pdf...)
GPS (for driving and jogging)
some games
system tweak
Would someone suggest some apps for all these tasks?
Just use the search button and i guarantee that you'll find everything you need
I would like to make a list of all apps I use, which should be the apps most people need.
The advantage and disadvantage of PPC is that they are too many apps for the same task. and the quality, stability are different from one to another.
That's why I think it is necessary to make a list
the apps one uses is not what the most people need.what is useful for me might not be useful for you and so on.The list is a very personal thing, it depends on personal tastes and needs.
have you seen this sticky?

Also not all applications are free. Some prefer freeware with limited functions and some other people don't mind paying for better software.
for example Gps Cycle is a good free sport Gps software but you can't compare it to the RunGPS UV(not free).

Since Google just gave us official voice and video support for Linux today and has updated Chrome and GTalk to also work on Linux with voice and video....
Could we have that for Android too?
I noticed all the google talk applications like nimbuzz and fring have been removed from the market today...prolly for an API change.
Hi -
What is the default codec used in the native Android SIP app?
is there a way to update the native SIP app to use G729 codec?
I'm running stock 4.2.2
thanks.
That would be pretty sweet. But the 729 codec is not free, so I doubt it could be incorporated.
native integration of g729
So I know this post is over a year old, but I've been searching everywhere for some kind of solution. I run CSipSimple which is pretty good with the exception of the fact that it crashes on occasion and I swear it chews up my battery life even though it doesn't seem to register at all in the stock battery usage monitor. I'd love to be able to use the stock sip stack with g729 as the default codec. I totally get that it is a licensed codec, which means that it can't be easily integrated into the native sip stack from the distribution end (although, if there were any custom roms that skirted around that issue, I'd love to know about them). I have a license for the g729 codec in CSipSimple, I'd love to able to extend that somehow to the stock sip stack since the licence is per device using the codec (at least this is how it's been explained to me). Is there some apk or zip using CWM or TWRP that I could install that would add native g729 capabilities into my native sip stack. I've tried using the ulaw and alaw codecs, they just don't work for me, the quality is lower, packets seem to drop, and it's difficult to carry on a conversation. The g729 codec on the other hand has worked flawless, I'd just like to be able to use it natively on my device. Any ideas would be welcomed.
If there was some way that I could add g729 by hacking the sip stack, instructions on that would be appreciated, I'm not afraid to hack some code!
Thanks in advance.
Sip Codec G729
Hi I was wondering if anyone has any updates for this
Cheers
I have to use my Old Nokia N8 for sip as its much clearer to use
