Main disadvantages
No system-wide file manager only a disadvantage to people like us, most people don't care
No videocalling
Limited third-party apps availability
No Bluetooth file transfers Without the file manager this is kinda pointless
No USB mass storage mode see previous answer
No multitasking it is there in a limited fashion, though right now only for the windows stuff (Zune, IE etc) but may be opened up to others in the future
No copy/paste slated to be in the first update in early (Jan) 2011
Too dependent on Zune software for computer file management and syncing I actually like this one, Zune can handle pictures, music, video, podcasts...what more do you need really?
No music player equalisers I'm sure someone will come up with an app.
No Flash or Silverlight support in the web browser it will be there eventually.
No sign of free Bing maps Navigation so far I hope this comes along soon, rumor is in the first update in Jan.
No DivX/XviD video support I'm not even sure what these file formats are as I have never needed them.
No internet tethering support this will probably have to be through an app from the carrier sadly.
New ringtones available only through the Marketplace I don't know where people heard this one...
Swapping memory card requires hard reset; cards not readable by computer from what I hear this is true, the memory is exandable, but not removable...
Which is true with is faulse ?
Which will fixed by later updates ?

see the red answers above.
alot of your answers hinge on things coming in the future. And on that note most done even have an exact release date.
this is true, but it is confirmed about the copy/paste, rumored about the nav. MS wanted to have a nice stable solid base OS before they went crazy with the options I am guessing.
can i record calls & sounds?

The only "file manager" is the zune desktop app which manages media. There is no way to access files/folders on the phone. Each app has it's own isolated file system.
Email/SMS. I've never heard of anyone ever using bluetooth file transfers.

On rare occasion I have done BT file transfer, usually when I am sending a .cab from my phone to my sisters or something, but that is a rarity.
You're joking right? I use BT file transfers pretty regularly. From my phone to my laptops and other phones. In fact last time I used it was just a few days ago to send some ring tones to a friend's mobile.
So I guess by saying there is no BT transfers means MS have gone down the Apple route of locking down the BT to just headsets and handsfree kits or am I mistaken in that assumption?
Never used it, never had the inclination to use it, never heard of anyone using it. Why not just email or SMS whatever it is you're trying to send?

I think a major disadvantage is the fact that they have not even integrated HTML5 into their browser as even the iPhone has that. Hopefully more sites will use HTML5 instead of Flash as I have an Android device and I find flash to be quite slow and buggy at times. Its good that they have announced that they will be bringing c&p as thats a needed feature.

I am sure the html5 and silverlight will make it's way into the browser, they just want to get it functional and solid first. Can't have EVERYTHING right away. I think what is there now is a great foundation.

I don't see how that's a major disadvantage given that we live in real reality and not Job's reality. HTML 5 will be important one day...today isn't that day. It's not ready for primetime. IE9 will start to be ported over into wp7, I'd be shocked if it's not up by the end of next year, and HTML5 still won't be a prevalent force on the web by then either.
Also, once they expand the API or allow other browser developers to get native access, then we may very well see HTML5 via those browsers.
I wonder what kind of security apps Microsoft will allow. I would like an app like Throttle lock on my phone over a pin # lock.
No USB mass storage or being able to swap out sd cards without hard resetting is an inconvenience. I'm often at a friend house and may want a file that's too big to email. It's easier to insert my card into their laptop, drag & drop a 5 gb file in the proper place on my sd card & take it home to place on my pc later. If some takes a long hd video with a flip cam, I rather them place it on my sd card than have them burn it to disc or shrink it & email it.
Copy & Paste is supposed to be available by the time Sprint gets a WM7 phone so I cant complain about that.
Too dependant on Zune software is an issue when wanting files from someone else PC that doesnt have Zune software.
No internet tethering support is a big issue for me.
Flash support isn't an issue if they allow 3rd party browsers, I would use Skyfire for WM7 if there is one available by the Sprint launch.
Dvix/Xvid support would be a plus but not a deal breaker.
Silverlight would be a plus as well but not a deal breaker either.
With no system wide file explorer, does that mean there will be no way to hide certain pics & videos from being found by someone else looking into the phone?
USB mass storage and file explorer are very important on my list. This is quite a disappointment.

Lack of multitasking to crazy extent - 3rd party apps are OFF even after just lockscreen.
Apps are also buggy, the ones from Marketplace.

Sorry mate but what kind of idiotic argument it is??!!
If I stand next to somebody or next to my own computer and want to send a file
why the hell should I email this?! I send it by BT! It's simpler, faster and OBVIOUS SINCE WE HAVE 2010, and bluetooth is known for ages!
It's hilarious you're trying to justify every stupid limitation by MS,
and if you're not having argument than you say you don't use it.
Knock knock. Most of the people never had inclination to use a smartphone,
should we abandon this?

You don't think they've made it up, do you?
Sad, but that may be possible that the really functional WP7 will be available around end of 2011.
I won't wait that long. And many users once they find the limitations won't hesitate from switching.
Was hoping to find something like Torrent Fu.
Anyway I installed uView utorrent and FSSI Torrent 7 on a free trial. Couldn't get either to work. Then looked at uController but it needs some .net 4 program on my PC to work.
What the hell is going on. I'm not cheap. I will pay £1.99 for a torrent app that works with isohunt.com. Please help.
What about Torrent Remote and Torrential.
Maybe it's my fault.
In uView settings - Your Torrent host I entered my IP address.
Sorry everyone. Its midnight here in London.
I was running utorrent 2.0.4. Normally it updates itself on startup. But this time it didn't update to 2.2. Got 2.2 now. Everything fine.
BTW what torrent app do you like?

Definitely uController. The service running on your PC makes it stand out above the others.
The service for uController is there to provide additional information above and beyond what you'd normally get with the uTorrent webUI.
Namely 'live' tile updates that show how many torrents are currently downloading (in the current build); and
A toast notification whenever a new torrent is added. You can restrict this this so it doesn't ding between certain hours (in the development build).
Admittedly being the developer of uController, I'm biased, but I think those two things make installing a small service on your PC an acceptable proposition.
uController doesn't allow the addition of torrents right now, but it's already implemented in development (via RSS feeds).

Can you just make a Fu Torrent clone? No PC software to install. Stop, remove, and pause of torrents. Search torrents available from Isohunt and TPB within the app. And of course add torrents.
This is all I'm asking for. But I'm willing to pay good money to someone who can deliver.

Sorry, i won't be doing it. I built this for my own uses, so I build it to suit my needs.
There are 3 other apps that might suit your needs.
I thought they said the microsoft was going to allow torrent apps in wp7. Only apps allowed would be allowed to view your torrents, but not add new ones.
+1 for uController, the live tile works well and the service running on your main torrent pc isn't a big deal.
Looking forward to the update that will allow the adding of torrents from rss feeds. A question for the developer: does this mean you can view the rss feed and select the torrents you want? Is it the service app or the device app downloading the torrent?
Oh yeah, and two small cosmetic things; when you run the app the "connecting to xxx.xxx" message at the top is overlapping the uController title (it looks a little untidy), and the app doesn't remember which group of torrents you were looking at last time you ran the app (ie downloading, or seeding, or what have you), it always reverts to All Torrents (which is a bit slow when you have a lot of torrents).
Great so far though, you wouldn't know how often the other torrent apps are going to get updated but this one is on version 1.2 already.

You view the RSS feed on the device, but the downloading is done on your PC. Nothing is downloaded on the device (given how small the storage is on some of them, and no background apps, it would be virtaully impossible anyway).

Yeah, I know. It is designed to mirror other apps that have the loading information across the top of the page, even if it overlaps with other information. Using the light theme it works better as it has a background tint... I might move it centrally like I have done with the RSS feed progress bars.

I've tidied this up a bit by adding some chrome background to the text. I tried it in the middle of the page, but it looked worse. The chrome helps the untidiness I think.

I added this in, however there was some weird behaviour happening. It would work well on the All, Downloading and Paused pivots but would crash out with the stopped and seeding pivots. There is no obvious reason for it, so I had to take it out to do the release.
I'll try to nut it out.

Grabbed the 1.3 update this morning and have been trying it out over lunch. I added some TV Show RSS feeds to the service app this morning before heading out, and I am happy to report that I can see these RSS feeds on my handset and add the torrents that I want from the feed. Works perfectly. I have also been able to set an upload limit for my torrents, great! If I can add one tiny suggestion, that each torrent in the RSS feed might also show the date it was added to the feed? Just in case I end up downloading an episode from a previous week if there was no new episode this week... or would it even be possible to have a * or some other indicator beside a feed that has a new torrent available? thanks

Cheers for giving it a go, but actually this update makes torrents appear much faster at launch, so remembering the previous pivot isn't as much of a big deal IMO?

1.3 was a fantastic update thanks! But the toast notification for new torrents being added: how does this work? Does the RSS feature automatically add new torrents from the RSS feeds you've used previously and then send a notification?
By the way, I've rated the app on the marketplace but it looks like the marketplace reviews are segmented between regions. I'm in Ireland so there are only about a dozen ratings across the entire Marketplace! Bit of a bummer really since it's not possible to see rating and reviews from other regions.

Shouldn't be a problem to add the date. The feed should contain that information already, it's just a matter of putting it into the UI.

Nice to hear. Basically it just works for any torrent added during the time period. It's mainly designed to capture torrents automatically added via the RSS function built into uTorrent. It doesn't use the feeds you've added into the client.

To get started, you really need to know how webUI in uTorrent works.
In essence, if you can get uTorrent and WebUI set up to the extent that you are able to:
(a) Access WebUI from any other computer on your home network
(b) Access WebUI from a computer outside your network via an external IP address. ie from your mobile phone, or a computer at work
...then you will have no trouble setting up uController. Bear in mind that all the uTorrent remote access apps on the marketplace will require that you can configure and setup WebUI. See this for instructions on getting set up.
Once that's done, and you can definitely connect to webUI, follow the instructions pdf for uController here and you'll be grand.
lekki said:

Yes, the service connects to the WebUI so it needs to be set up. Instructions are available and linked in the post above.
The pdf needs to be updated to take into account the features added since release, but the setup should be adequately explained. If you're having any specific problems, let me know.
So we have some torrent apps... that says something about Marketplace approval and copywright issues. So where are the emulators?
Hi, I'm Trent and I co-created AppThwack, a service for on-demand automated testing of Android apps on real devices. Basically, you upload an apk and a couple minutes later you get screenshots and logcat dumps from actual phones and tablets we host.
Beta Users Needed
We're currently looking for devs to join our private beta. You can message me or sign up on our website and I'll get a beta code to you shortly. We're trying to stress the system and make additions/adjustments so the service is as useful as possible for developers.
Current Features
Real phones and tablets: About 20 high- and low-end devices and we add a few more every week.
Fast: See results in real time. Full test runs on all devices takes a minute or two to complete.
Selectable default tests: Install, launch, UI Monkey, Cleanup
Configurable tests: For example, specify the number of UI Monkey events and seed the randomizer
JUnit including Robotium support via uploaded test packages
Screenshots in portrait and landscape on all devices
Logcat and filterable logcat viewer
High-level results sortable by device or test
Full stack-traces for any exception that occurs
Future
We're working on adding more test frameworks like monkeyrunner and more default tests, particularly performance tests that measure battery consumption, CPU usage, etc. We're also adding more data visualization and charting so it's easy to see what some of the gathered statistics mean.
We plan to launch soon, but the beta program will remain in effect even after that. The service will follow a freemium model. Again, the beta is free and we're going to keep it in place even after we eventually launch.
Inter-device automation
Our back-end supports device-to-device automation, so if you have an app or scenario that you'd like to test that involves multiple devices or interaction with other devices, even non-Android devices, let me know. We're looking for people to help us develop how this service will be exposed.
Edit: I can't post links, but if you search for "appthwack" you'll find it. Btw, I've apparently lurked since October, 2008. Yikes.
Just wondering will this support of testing apps that require root?
Also any chance we can see like a live pic of the device when it installs the app and opens it?

Right now it does not and all of our phones are as close to stock as possible. I'll look into making it an option so we automatically root before your app installs and then un-root after the tests are complete. Root opens up some new possibilities, both good and bad, so I'll need to think about it.

Yes! The launch test takes a screenshot in both landscape and portrait. You can see all screenshots sorted by device by clicking "By Device" or "By Test" and clicking the "Screenshots" link in the blue box at the top.
Screenshots also show up in each launch test log so you can see the context as the shot was captured. Logcat dumps show up in the same place (Link from the blue box at the top will open a filterable and highlighted log viewer).
Alright thanks I'll try it out tonight

Holy cow. Didn't realize such web service existed.
I just signed up and currently having a look around. Is it possible for me to join the beta? Thanks!
Is it possible for a "free" upgrade for my account? Heh just asking
EDIT : Created a new project. Then I'm stuck. The "Runs" tab is empty.
EDIT again : Oh.. uploading had error previously. Uploading again.
Very interesting project. Good luck to your team and I hope I can be a good beta tester
Realy interesting, for us, almost of our apps needs root access, so please think about adding root to your service

Will test on my sensation

Tested the tool, seems too good..
Suggestion : In-case if you want to reach maximum number of developer. Allow developer to use has free.
IDEA : You can request developer to post about you're tool on there app page, website & play store... As you're giving the tool as free you will get enough number of people to view & use the tool.. if the developer agree then you will allow him to use the tool for free of cost..
As a developer am ready to use the tool & post about you in my app & other places too...
This is a great tool, just uploaded an apk of my app that's in my signature and it worked, with a couple of NullPointers from the Play Store's licence service. That shouldn't happen, and doesn't on any of my devices, so I suspect it's an issue on your end. Any idea why?

We are using Silk Mobile for end to end applications testing. Do you ever used this tool?
What an interesting service! I'll look into this from work tomorrow.
Not having used this at all, the first things which do spring to mind are:
-streaming realtime logcat
-a (skype?) connection with live streaming video of the app running, so you can see layouts/animations etc.
Anyway, I'm going to check this out tomorrow!

This is a great tool, just uploaded an apk of my app that's in my signature and it worked, with a couple of NullPointers from the Play Store's licence service. That shouldn't happen, and doesn't on any of my devices, so I suspect it's an issue on your end. Any idea why?

Thanks for checking out the service. My immediate guess it that this is caused by the absence of a default Play account. Many devices have no account as one of our supported frameworks, calabash, removes accounts upon cleanup after script completion. On the plus-side, if you were to write scripts you should be able to add a temporary account from the test itself.
Highly unlikely you'd hit this bug in a real world situation, but it is a bug nonetheless.
Really awesome service! Can't test it for the moment as it doesn't support root apps, but this is really a great concept :good:
Maybe you could build a superuser permissions manager which would grant root access but makes sure to keep /system mounted as read-only, this way no harm could be done to the devices and us root apps devs could use your awesome service.
I actually got quite a few ideas, you could delete the mount binary in /system/xbin and use it in an internal appthwack app's private data, so that it's the only app able to call this binary and thus to mount /system.
I'd definitely subscribe to AppThwack if it had root support.
If you want help with developing this kind of secure root environment for the testing, I'd gladly contribute.
EDIT : Strangely enough, I just tested it with my app (which asks for root in the launcher activity, so I really didn't expect it to work) and had 0 failures, 75 pass.
How comes ? Have you already added root support ?^^
Either way this is really cool, I'm going to spread the words and most likely subscribe a paid account :good:
Is there somewhere we can see pictures of your device lab? Gotta be one hell of a device museum you got over there^^

This is pretty interesting. The only two rooted devices are a couple running CM. I'll look into this further, and if you have any ideas I'd love to hear them as well.

Some things can not be automated, like scanning a QR code or reading/writing to an NFC tag. Do you plan on adding "manual tests" for a fee?
This would be really great to test apps on specific hardware.

Thanks for the question! Our primary focus is on automation. There are existing test houses and services that will execute manual tests like those you describe, but of course because of the manual component they're slow and expensive.
We often push folks to break their testing down into more granular chunks. For instance, verify you can take a picture and deal with the image, even if it's not the QR code or whatever your app usually consumes. This will find problems with simply using the camera and resulting image location. Now, have a separate test that processes a photo of a QR code, but feed the image in as part of the test. This removes the camera component from the analysis part, meaning it's now possible to benchmark the image analysis algorithm on all devices.
With a combination of a service like ours where you test very, very quickly on tons of devices, you can now do some more UX/end-to-end tests on a handful of devices yourself. This hybrid approach is great for finding the vast majority of issues before release.
nice post
Realy interesting, for us

I wonder why this is not working on the RT.. I wish I had this device to test some things on. Anyways, this build was focused on 4.0 .NET framework made in visual studio 2012 for windows 8 Desktop. Thanks for trying.
EDIT: Problem is with the installer, download the ZIP below it and use that. I will try to find a fix for the installer. Sorry for the inconvenience.

You would need to target "Any CPU" in the .NET code, and recompile any third-party x86 libraries that you are using to target ARM, and it would probably work then. Most (although not all) of the system libraries on Win8 are also on Windows RT, and (at least in the case of .NET libraries), the ones that aren't can sometimes be brought over from a Win8 box anyhow.

At the moment, I am trying to get geckoFX 15 and xulrunner 19 added to the project so I do not have to use the default WebBrowser component given in Visual Studio. If you would like, I could send you the source and maybe you could help porting to Windows RT and adding geckoFX? Btw after v1.0 this will be Open Source to all Thanks for all the support guys.
Works now thanks, scrolling is a little hitchy how ever its a great start. On another note would it be possible to make the onscreen keyboard auto pop up?
Will the flash be optimized, the browser is really fast. Its just the flash side of things that is buggy.
Seems to bypass the Flash whitelist on Windows RT. That's quite handy.
Re: [APP] Lemon Browser v0.9.7.3
I can surely attempt the auto pop up on screen keyboard, also the glitchy scrolling will be fixed soon. Thanks

Just FYI: a web browser requiring Administrator to run is absolutely unacceptable. Browsers should run with extremely limited permissions (lower than standard user, ideally) rather than elevated permissions. I fixed this by hand-editing the .EXE file's embedded manifest to run AsInvoker (rather than RequireAdministrator). You should change the manifest in VS. Preferably, the whole thing would run in a low-IL sandbox the way IE does, and/or use some other sandboxing technique.
Also, there's little reason, especially for RT-targeted builds, to use Debug unless you include the source files and expect people to use them when reporting bugs. Release builds are typically smaller and faster.
Finally, could you get this to use a somewhat less awful rendering engine than IE7? I don't mind using Trident in general, but IE7 is archaic and awful. How do you justify "faster than Chrome" on a browser that can't even pass Acid2, much less run a modern speed benchmark? Gecko would be awesome, though I don't believe anybody has managed to port it to RT yet so that would be x86-only at first.
There are other things I'd like to see, ranging from simple UI conventions (double-clicking the tab bar, tapping Alt to show the menu bar, etc.) to some significant security issues (loading mixed content - that is, HTTP content on an HTTPS site - is a potentially serious risk).
Re: [APP] Lemon Browser v0.9.7.3
I appreciate the feedback, about the debug, i honestly did not even think about that, its just much faster to update using the debug folder. I will make it the release build next time. Next - about the admin permissions - Unfortunately this is needed to enable the temporary download of version.txt (allows OTA updates). And I was not planning on targeting the RT at all. I simply made this on my windows 8 laptop and released to the public for however they would like. I am now working on a 3D FPS though and will be releasing the code to this very shortly. And for the IE7 subject, I tried using firefox component but it does not allow the "LoadComplete" sub. Simply put, I do not know how to do 'if web page loaded' do this. I need this feature so i can load favicons etc. Please understand that this was made < 1 week ago. I highly appreciate all the comments though because I can not even begin testing all of these. Plus with school and other activities I do not expext this to be a huge project. Just simply a fun project (focused on gui) to add to my projects. Thanks again

No worries on the Debug/Release, just a tip.
The admin thing, though... that's a serious problem. If the problem is just downloading a file, download it to the local application data folder instead of the install directory. If auto-updating is desired, make a separate updater that runs as Admin, and have the browser launch the updater program when it detects an update.
That said, though, admin is only needed if the browser is "installed" to a location where Admin is required to write. Programs installed in (for example) the user profile don't require this. In fact, on machines where the user *can't* get Admin (think about computers at a school, library, or office), the fact that it can install and run without requiring admin is a major advantage.
I understand that this is a side project for you, and I applaud you for hobby programming and sharing it with us, that's fantastic to see. I also do quite like the GUI, although I find it a bit bare-bones at the moment. Additionally, you getting it to work on RT is fantastic. However... I cannot in good conscience recommend using a web browser that sets the state of environment security back by nearly seven years. The web is an extremely hostile "place" and we've learned many lessons over the years. one of the critical ones is that web browsers are simply too easy to attack for them to be trusted; the only safe way to use one is to assume it will be compromised, and run it in a suitable contained environment. Microsoft did his with the IE7 Protected Mode on Vista betas in 2006, but even on XP it was possible to run IE as a non-Admin.
Re: [APP] Lemon Browser v0.9.7.3
I will admit chrome will always be my favorite browser Just wanted to throw something visually appealing together though after seeing all the horribly designed ones on youtube lol. If anyone would like the source just email me. The code is (slightly cluttered) but OCD friendly. everything labeled and named properly. If someone would like the source, i recommend also downloading the android holo icons from their site. That is what I am currently using and this allows identical pre-made light / dark icons.

Hello !
really thank for this build ! :good:
A question:
Can you integrate a download manager which allow us to download files with screen off but which avoid the complet stand-by state of the tablet during the download ?
Because with IE it's impossible to download something with the Surface screen OFF.
It could be a really cool feature, and the only browser which allow that ! :highfive:

Thanks! I appreciate that aha. Major update (kinda lol) will be released soon. Have to work on Mango Tools first (I might toss a thread up on this tool) but this can be found on my site mellowdev.net It just allows you to easily perform ADB commands on android phone. Anyways right after this I will work on v0.9.8! Hoping to add lots of cool, unique features to give this browser an edge. I know that speed means a lot and I have received many complaints on using the IE7 component. However my focus at the moment is to add features. Web browsing for most is just type in words and search. I want this to be so much more. So anyways aha thanks again. Love the support here!
Recieved my shiny new Jiayu S3 3GB version today.
Noticed some dodgy apps in the all apps list, decided to malware scan - glad I did!
First check to see if your device is infected.
Go to your google apps play store and install Malware-byte's Anti-Malware Mobile.
Run a scan on the device, if it's the same as me you'll get 19 detected items. Feel free to scan with another scanner if you don't trust it.
After scanning with just Malware-bytes, the items I had were:
afternoon
Black Hole
blue sea
Butterfly Love
Fangge
Fantasy
FoldPager
Galaxy5
GoldenLife
Gridiron
honor
IOS7
LuckyCat
Petal
PowderBox
Snow and ice
Star Diamond
Twinkle
Zoo
REMOVAL:
I had to go into the security menu of the settings and enable Superuser.
Install this app from the Play Store: 'System app remover (ROOT)' (I can't post outside links)
Using this app you can remove the apps. I also removed the "Unlocker" and "father.rickety.ordinaire.suspiciousness" even though they weren't detected as Malware because..well they sound suspicious. (I mean come on, 'suspiciousness' in the title?!)
I have been monitoring the phone and I have seen no effect of functionality after removing these packages.
The speed of the phone has also increased, which is nice.
From my research it looks like Jiayu have used a 4.4.4 base ROM that was infected as there are other Jaiyu phones with the 4.4.4 ROM that are infected with these.
Best of luck and enjoy your malware free Jiayu S3
I am on the latest S3S rom 20150507-083407 and ran this anti malware and it picked up nothing, a clean scan. I bought mine from the Factory website.
No known malware on mine. As an extra precaution I use DroidWall, a iptables app to block any conversation from apps that don't need access to internet or lan.
KapzyPanda, where did you buy your phone ? Have you changed the Android (OTA, custom ROM) ?
I got mine from coolicool, EU warehouse, several OTA updates, then update to S3S 20150507-083407 from needrom.
Scanning now, found 2 problems.
Actually, the same file: WiFiKill - this is not a problem.
Your 19 problems found - what was the name of the infection ?
Congratulations..... you managed to remove all your pretty (variety) lock screens. Including the star diamond which is FABULOUS and can be seen in action in s7yler's review of this phone on youtube at time code 6:40.... In the later firmware version it has been removed because of all the false flagging which is a darn shame because I love this lock screen. Soooooo if any of you know how to get hold of the desired star diamond, DO please let me know...... It would be much appreciated....

I guess if you can find the ROM (perhaps on needrom), then you can unpack it, and loop mount the system partition where the star diamond can be found as apk.

I didn't even know that was possible.... Newbie eager to learn..... Just did a search on the how to's now and see that you can unpack a rom with winrar etc.... Wow... Now I don't understand the loop mounting bit (yet) but I guess I can't just extract the apk, place it in the download folder and run because it's part of the system? What about using something like APK Swapper?

hi
you should be careful from where you download roms.
Some will/are indeed infected.
I saw at least 3 roms infected (2 from that site we all know needr ...) and another one from another forum ...
Also, some Chinese stores re-flashed their devices, with those roms... I dont know whats the deal...
cheers
The deal is that what we consider viruses the China based devices are required to have so the Chinese government can monitor it's citizens.
To be honest unless you live in China I would avoid China devices.

You seem to hold sufficient wisdom to close threads where so called
illegal activity is happening by innocent people who do not even know
it is illegal and where one would rather need to put people in jail
who provide tools to implement the illegal activity. It is like you
point to the drug user in stead of the drug dealer. These are my last
words on XDA. I disappear and perhaps come back under different name
(this one and all names here are kind of fake anyway).

If it is legal or not depends on where you live. Plain and simple. Just because people don't know it's illegal doesn't protect them. It's called research. Something that should be done.
Also making another account is against xda rules and is a banable offence.
