Spare batteries

Came across this on eBay, two extra batteries plus a standalone battery charger for about $13 shipped. Coming from Hong Kong, but I can wait for that price. There's another similar auction for 2 batteries and a charger for $63, not sure why this one is so much cheaper but I'll try it.

This was what I bought as well, about a week ago? Hasn't shown up yet so I couldn't tell you how they work.... but I'll let you know!

i wouldn't trust those generic batteries...

Please update when you received them. At that price they would be great as backup batteries.

Both. $13 doesn't seem reasonable for one battery let alone 2. The cradle in that picture doesn't even look like it's for those batteries (charging pins appear to be on the top?)

What is the battery number for our OEM's so we can buy another, but not at an insanely marked up T-Mobile or Samsung retail price?

I ordered similar cheap batteries for my hd2 from the same seller. believe or.not, they lasted about the same amount of hours.v. stock battery

Just bought mine
Since someone else vouched for the seller and he has a good rating, I went ahead and bought them also. What the hell its only 14 bucks anyways. My phone wont be here until monday anyways so Im in no hurry for the batteries.

this looks cool and not a bad price. although i'm assuming people have been buyin it cuz the price is now 15.99 and not the 13 originally mentioned lol oh well. still good price. is there a way 2 get a oem samsung battery from tmo?

Cheap price and i have bought a handful of things from Hong Kong but those battery's are 1440 mAH, and the Vibrant battery is 1500mAH. I have no idea if the 1500 is the min requirement or not or if it means it just wont last as long. Just pointing it out.

just got mine in. The batteries are actual Samsung batteries, G7 which I think is the international version of the batteries. They are the 1500 mAh batteries and the charger has a USB pass through. Charging the batteries now, we'll see how they last.

Spare Battery and Charger

Anyone knows a good deal on these items?
I was at the T-mobile store earlier and saw a very nice package including a spare battery, a usb cable, and a spare-charger but it runs for $49.99
Edit: Found one! $9 (aftermarket battery and charging holder). I have one like this for my G2 and it worked great!!

Actually I saw one and it’s being sold by Samsung for about $24? I think. But that’s too much for me. The aftermarket battery is very cheap but I don’t expect it to have embedded NFC chip on it lol.. I had the same brand for my old G2. It worked great for over a year with absolutely no issue.

check this one out, i am thinking of ordering it! seems like a great deal for $34!

So I have been looking around on eBay and Amazon for a spare battery and dock charger for it. I ran into this one which will be linked, but I don't know the brand or if anyone has any experience with this. I know they have the OEM ones, but those go for well over $35. I am on a tight budget as almost everyone and just looking for alternatives to save a few bucks, or should I just get the OEM or a different brand. I would appreciate any feedback and Thanks in advance.

I have the OEM charger and its awesome. Comes with a battery too. Don't know about the one in the link. Battery may not have NFC capabilities either ....just my 2 cents. I got mine shipped from Amazon for like $35.00. Its well worth it if you ask me. Good luck.

Just check ebay for "OEM T989 Battery" I got mine with NFC for like $26 and a cheap chinese wall charger for like $3.

fwiw, Samsung has stock in charging dock that comes with the spare battery for $49. The unit connected to your exsiting charger will chargea spare battery while you phone has a place to stay. They have free UPS 1 day shipping with anything over 49.99 and the software (wrongly in my opinion) includes sales tax in the calculation to qualify.

Seems the video you linked does not charge both at the same time? I would like a dock that does..
i would refer that as a stand and battery charger...fwiw

You're correct. I'm wrong, but a spare battery and nice charger for it isn't all that bad, though all of sudden I'm seeing it for much less on the web, mid-high 30s.

especially nice since all the compact wall chargers that hold a battery i have tried only charge to about 88%... bummer

A battery is only $25, so with this dual charger and a battery it's the same price as the Samsung that doesn't dual charge...

I know... it just seemed like an important detail to note.

Wish it was like the one they made for the Charge I got new at VZW for $35. It simultaneously charged the second battery and phone, came with a second standard Samsung battery, and even had audio out jack and volume controls on the front panel. .......it was also a landscape dock, portrait docks seem useless. I almost never use my phone in portrait mode for anything.

Wall chargers - anything special between different kinds?

My chargers are all ripped somewhere and not charging right so I'm going to buy a new one. Besides the amps, are there any difference between chargers? I was told to order an HP 2.1A off Amazon but my gut tells me to get a Samsung one. So if there's any special or good wall chargers that have the usb cable someone let me know, thanks

i'd suggest buying an original samsung one for your device
better safe than sorry

The little samsung brick is 1amp. You can probably get one for $5.

I was looking for a good charger with a long cable, this one says the cable is pretty short

My suggestion is to buy chargear and long cable separate. I think 6 feet is the longest microusb cable I have seen

Make sure it has data transfer capabilities. Although most do I have gotten one in the past that was a charge only cable.

I've used generic charging cables for YEARS with many different types of cell phones and have never had a problem. I think I had a charging cable fail once, but never any damage to a phone. I always go with the cheapest ones I can find.

I too use generic chargers and cables. As long as the specs of the stock charger are met (voltage and amps), you should be fine. I usually get my gear from monoprice.com. Their stuff is very cheap and I haven't had a problem with it [yet]!

Ah for some reason I misread that and thought you were referring to an external charger where you insert the batteries into. My mistake but I was looking for an OEM charger cable also though, so this works too lol. Thanks

I had external charger but its not oem just the really cheap black one with the red/blue light. Worked fine for me.

Does it work well for extended batteries? I have a Qcell coming in this weekend and would love to have a good working external charger for it.
