Hi All,
first of all... if this question is being asked at the wrong place.. please let me know ;-)
Well.. i have a question.. I have a daxian x999 and want to upgrade the OS.. The OS on this device isn't fast and can be quite unstable sometimes..
anyone can tell me how i can upgrade this device?? I'm a complete newbie on this one.. so any help would be appreciated..
thanks!!!
no one has a clue??
Rom
hi there!
the problem with the daxian x999 is, that until now no one managed to extract the bootloader!
i tried almost every software i found here... no success!
i was able to extract the rom, but that doesn´t help too much
and another thing that is very sad, is that no one from the "knowing Guys" here is interested in helping us!!!
there was just one senior member trying to help me... (thanx again the_eqionoxe!!!)
i expected some more help from a forum with that much experience...
regards
chuckbert
You say you were able to extract the rom, please share how you did this ....

Sorry i found it in the very next search
As far as I know it should be presented in the form of a imgfs file (can be cooked by any kitchen). (*but I am not 100 % shure, I don't have a daxian to experiment with)
But I am unaware about the XIP format .
If we had a look @ a original update.img then we could say how it was compiled, and hopefully port other rom's to it.
any have yep put 6.1 on this phone?
I have a daxian x999 but its in chinese & if i cant get it exchanged will want to change the windows rom to an english one - cant find the english rom though (& need to learn how to do it too lol)
I used SPB backup to restore my data, and stopped it midway, now my power button does not turn on the screen. So I have to wait for a phone call to come in for the screen to come on.
Anyone know if I use an editor for registery if there is a place to turn this back on.
Thanks, if not, then I will start to research how to get deeper into the phone, as it is useless to me know.

Have u tried a soft reset?????? or maybe a "master clean up" as it is called on the phone???
also if someone here is going deep into the phone, can some1 figure out how to 'manage' the accelerometer for the current application/settings of it seem pretty dull... i don't know if it helps, but the process which rotates the screen is called acc_ap and you can find it in the start up folder
Yes, I tried the soft reset, memory clear, and hard 3-button reset, no joy.
nobody tried with pdocwrite as MUN_rus has done with HTC wizard G4??
WARNING This device needs OTHER drivers than a HTC ELF(in), so make sure you cook a ROM with the proper drivers!!.
You can probably dump the rom by the reverse command pdocread..
Haven't tried it myself, as I have stated before, I have no daxian 999 to experiment with myself..
Here's my phone info:
AT&T Tilt 2 6.5 (says world phone when it starts up)
CE OS 5.2.21849
ROM: 1.59.502.3
Radio: 4.48.25.20
480 x 800 resolution
I've tried for several days to hack, install, flash, jailbreak, etc.
*~*NOTHING WORKS*~*
I've researched this sight until wee hours in the morning all this week - nothing helps...
Suggestions...comments...please, at least no bashing me...I waited several days to post this as I have done my research but I'm just too tired of looking and can't figure it out...
All I want to do is freakin' put a new rom on my phone...I like NRGZ28's roms and I've put the stupid Hard SPL Olinix or whatnot on my phone.
But beyond that I've read every manual and text file but it just won't work...
also...
what other rom's are out there that i can try???
You may complain what you want, but when you give us that little info, how do you expect us to help you?
Did you read this page? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540

You should post this in the NRG ROM thread, or even better the "Flashing ROM for NOOBs", you will get more support there. Also, list your current ROM. If you have hard SPL then all you need to do is download the NRG ROM, extract it from the 7-zip archive, and put both the files in a folder. Connect your phone via activesync, and then execute the custom RRU exe program. I have flashed several times.
You don't say what errors you are getting - people need as much information as possible.
@ Lennyz1988
thanks but the page you sent me would be one of those text files, explanations, etc that I already read a million times and isn't specific enough for me
one of the main problems is that when documents explain unzipping, unraring, etc, MOST (not always) of the time they never state specifically to where it must be unzipped/unrarred: to the computer desktop? a specific folder in the phone's memory? the sd card?
however, i did hard spl my phone, when i enter bootloader mode it does show the olinix thing on it, so is this the rom number i need to list?? does it have anything to do with rom?
@ stevedebi, isn't the rom number i listed the one that's needed? what other info is needed as i don't think there is anymore info i can get off my phone that i didn't list, but being a noob please explain away so i can get this straight
*~*~*~*~ wait, i think u mean this...it has the 6.5 rom that it came with when i bought it...is that what you're looking for??

no offense...but what does this mean?
For example, I go to NRGZ28's ROM page. I've already hard spl-ed my phone. Check.
Next, I unzip (just 5minutes ago) the 7z file that comes with the customruu.exe and try to set it up on my phone. Fail.
The attachment is what I see every time without fail. No progress beyond this point...help?
THANKS - PROBLEM SOLVED ON THE FLASHING ROM PAGE!!! THANKS A MILLION TO STEVIEWEVIE!!!!

Since you took the time to post your problem on THIS forum, please respond with WHAT you actually did to fix your issue. It is kinda not cool to get everyone to help you, then when you solve your issue, just say problem solved and not say what you did. No offense, not bashing you, just let everyone else know what worked to fix your issue.

PROBLEM SOLVED! SOLUTION BELOW:
i guess i never actually extracted the folder like i thought i had already done - PLUS i also moved to a separate folder to keep it apart from ALL other rom's i was trying to flash
Hi guys ... its my first thread and i hope i posted it in the right place ...
Am new to the Android world and i dont know anything about it.
i brought my HTC Desire directly when it came out .. but i noticed
a problem in it .. that it can't read arabic.
it can't read the letters and instead it appears like squares ..
so i was wondering if any of you guys can help me and teach me
how to add a font to the mobile so it can read arabic ...
i was searching and looking arround and i guess i found many stuff
that can help but as i said am so new into this .. and i don't know anything
so if you please can teach me step by step
Again i hope that non will remove my thread cuz i don't know where am i suppose to post it.
is there anybody who know how to install a language on this mobile?!!
i have the font .. i just need the method!
If the language is zipped up, rename it update.zip pop it on the root of your SD card and either power off and down to flash it (like a new ROM) or use ROM manager to do the same thing only without having to rename it
i tried to install ROM manager before but there was some wrongs with the phone i dont know what ..
I tried now to do how you said the first time .. but i guess i understood wrong .. because my english is not that good in mobile and computer language .. so can you please try to explain more detailed?
Its unzipped and i just rename it to " update.zip" and i copied it to the SD card
and then when i pressed down and the power buttom so i got a list and i didnt understand which one to take
Sorry if am kinda slow in this .. but its not my field .. so could you please help me more detaild?
its ok mate,,, follow what is says in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
and all should be nice and clear for you
you have to read it all to understand how to use the bootloader and recovery, then with the font zipped up as update.zip on the root of the SD it should allow you to update then reboot the phone
Again failing that have another try with ROM manager, makes this process sooooooo much easier
mate i did it on ROM manager ... and the mobile rebooted and i got a black screen with a red question mark .. then the mobile started by it self normally .. but! the mobile is still cant read the arabic text .. i zipped the font like hw u said .. so wuts the problem?
This thread needs moving to the Desire Themes and Apps section, i think itll get more attention and a fix in there
dont worry mate just hang in there, i PM'd a MOD to see if he can shift it, hopefully someone will have the answer for you
I tried to patch my phone with CM9-ICS-MR0-111207-jordan-KERNEL-2.3.4-Quarx build and when I rebooted I get this
bootloader
09.10
err:A5,70,00,00,23
battery ok
ok to program
connect USB
data cable
Now I have googled this and found many options.
So far I have tried these.
droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-hacks/68222-unbricking-your-droid-x.html
When I do this I get a error (in linux ATM so cant tell you the name will get it ASAP) and I have got rsd lite 5.7 and the latest drivers from the motorola site. I have tried many roms and placed it in C:, My documents, in the RSD folder, on the desktop, in the download folder. Always open the program in admin.
Also this:
droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-sbf/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html
I have tried many of there ISO images and all boot and say they start to do something, then it says failed! rebooting and then it reboots and says to remove battery and go into these option (which I cant as it will only boot on the boot loader screen I tried to get into recovery and no luck) so it was a fail also.
I hope there is a solution as this is a pain, I may of put a to high rom on and cant revert back??
I am sick of googling and alot of the links come back to this site and have tried many but all seem to be repetitive and what I have tried.
Thanks in advance
Ok Fixed this site is the best!!! All I done was read the all in one beginners guide and it linked to a rom for the defy plus (all the other defy plus ones I found where folders not RSD files like this one)
So loaded the file into rsd lite and sure enough it went threw.
YAY! I cant believe I recovered my phone! I knew it was something but to find the right image was the trick I guess.
I did install the defy + CM9 image but I am not sure what happened there.
Thanks to all (more so walter79 for the image)
Hope this helps some one out in the future
Ok I got the phone to work with the image posted in the defy + section but when I boot I get no service.
I have tried to do a factory reset and had to input all the accounts again but that did not help.
what can I do?

Get the baseband switcher app It changes the network related files to the ones correct for your country/network! You need to set it manually, though, so, it may take a couple of tries to figure out which one is the best choice

thank you heaps it had telstra in the settings selected it and looks like I have service now. Thank you so much I cant belive I was just about to give up and get a new phone now I have a working phone with 2.3.6 and rooted now I got the network to work again . Super happy, now to see what I was missing out on since I have been pulling my hair out the last few days thinking I got a bricked phone.

[GUIDE] All-in-One Defy Beginner's guide
Hy,
today I tried rooting my HTC Desire Z. Until today I didn't modify anything, it was like shipped three years ago when I bought it (no root, S-ON, but officially updated to stock Gingerbread).
So why I decided to root? I had a problem after updating all apps at once: the update process got stuck, I had to pull the battery. After turning it back on, it resulted in bootloop - no good. Tried a lot of things - nothing worked. Finnally I had to do a hard reset. Worked, but all data was lost.
So I decided to now root the phone in order to have the possibility to backup everything with nandroid - to be prepared for the next time
OK, so I searched the net found a lot of infos and the wonderful downgrading guide by strawmetal as described on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
I followed all the steps, download all the files. Everything worked fine like described in the guide (I skipped the backup thing, as it is optional and I had nothing to backup). The problem occured in the last step: downgrading (page 10). I chosed method B: "fastboot downgrade". but finally I got stuck when flashing the StockRom.zip: everything seemed to work, but the process stopped with the line: " INFO[RUU]WP,radio,95 " (output of my cmd-window here: http://pastebin.com/7n11dXJx). My HTC Screen showed a grey HTC Logo and green process bar which was about 95% I guess.
I waited about an hour or so, nothing happend. I had to interrupt the command-window by "ctrl+c", pulled the lead and finally had to pull the battery too as the power button did not work either.
Tried to switch it on afterwards - but nothing, really nothing happens. Screen stays black, no LEDs, no vibrations, no bootscreen. Argh!
Did I kill it? Is there anything I can do? What did I do wrong? I don't get it...
I'm using Windows Pro 64bit and used the StockRom linked in the thread above (see post from 1st March 2014): http://cmw.cmfs.me/vision/stock/1.34.707.3/PC10IMG.zip. It was upped again after the original links did not work anymore. It says it is for Desire Z, but now I see it's another version (and has other checksum too): it's 1.34.707.3 instead of 1.34.405.5 which is linked in strawmetals guide. Maybe this is the problem? Unfortunately I can not post to developement section as I'm new to XDA...
Any help appreciated! Thanks!
Maybe a stupid question, but is your battery charged?
And after you insert USB into computer and phone, does your computer detects a device? For me device manager shows: http://i.imgur.com/7HDDPzo.png
Unfortunately it is very possible that your phone is bricked. When flashing firmware, particularly the bootloader or radio, you need to be sure they successfully and completely flash or your phone will not boot. This is why the warnings are there as there is risk, the fastboot method is the safest but a battery pull is a sure way to never have your phone wake again, that is if there was an error or any form of incomplete flash you cannot do a battery pull
So I'm sorry to say that if your phone shows no sign of life you likely will not be able to resurrect it without JTAG

G2 / Desire Z bricked - wrong ROM !?!?!?
Thanks a lot for your answers and sorry for answering so late. OK, I bricked it - that's for sure. :crying:
As everything worked fine until the flashing process stopped I suppose that it was kind of a conflict with the ROM I used. In the original thread it says: "use 1.34.405.5_PC10IMG.zip". The Version which was provided by a user after the original link died was "1.34.707.3_PC10IMG.zip" (MD5 is different!). Maybe this is the issue? I cannot post to developer section until now - so if you think this could have caused the bricking issue, please warn users in the original thread and help saving some G2/Desire Z from bricking. Thanks!
I will buy a new phone now. But this time no HTC !!!

.
It should work with both 1.34 ROMs.
But maybe, it was a step before that which make it fail...
It wasn't so much the stock ROM that bricked the device it was the battery pull of an incomplete radio flash. Bootloader needs to run a radio check in order to boot, no radio - no boot.
If something like this happens to you in the future just run the fastboot commands again, do not reboot, there are many reasons it can get stuck but no damage will occur until reboot
The good news is desire z has become cheap, you can buy an old broken one of eBay for probably less than $40 and just swap logic boards
Either way, best of luck in the future!

Thanks for your answers. I think I won't have any HTC devices because the original problem (updating caused bootloop) is not acceptable for me. Had to do a hard reset to get this solved and had a lot of problems after this issue. Anyway:
thanks and closed!
