Hi,
I believe this question has been asked tons of times before. However, neither Google nor the search here did return any usable results.
When I have my Desire in my pocket while listening to music, it is a giant pain to guess where the "next track"-button is on the lock screen. It would be terrific, if I could just press one of the buttons which are out of use anyway. As an alternative, I could think of an app which makes the lock screen controls more usable (bigger? gestures?).
Thanks

Hi, I have been searching the web for quite a while looking for this and haven't been able to find what I am looking for, so hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.
Does anyone know of a lightweight Slide to unlock program compatable with the TP2? I find that S2U2 uses to many resources for my liking, and battery level suffers. Ideally what I want is a simple replacement for the built in lock function which uses a slide rather than pressing in two places. I want the phone to remain locked when there is a notification or incomming call, and I want to be able to see the currently displayed app or home screen displayed under the slider.
Thanks for any ideas,
Tom

here you go
I used this when S2U2 v2.02 was being buggy on me. it allows you to slide anywhere on the screen to unlock, either left to right or right to left. no up/down. you can also unlock it the usual way, by pressing 2 places at once.
you have the option of having it lock in call as well.
hope it's what you're looking for
I also thought that S2U2 used too much memory for what I needed (to lock the device). The suggested alternative, CSDEVCTRL, was exactly what I needed. Uses default lock. It only uses 3 kb of memory.
Thanks for the reply, I have had a look at CSDEVCTRL and while it does seem promising I found it was too easy to unlock the phone, S2U2 requires a deliberate action on the slider bar where CSDEVCTRL seems to unlock if I just take the phone out of my pocket. It would be greatly improved if it had a slider bar graphic like S2U2, I guess I'll keep on looking.
Thanks again,
Tom
I wonder if there coukd be a light version of s2u2 made to work with phones such as the TP2 that doesn't need the in call features. this would potentially bring the memory uasage down?
I am using Rotastrain's Slide to Unlock utility but it doesn't work as nicely as s2u2. The Notifications isn't locked, neither is the Long Press End button. Also, doesn't auto load on power switch.
Thinks I'll try s2u2, worked well on my TyTnII.
Ok, I did a search several times and each time I came up with like 4,000 posts to read.
Is there a way to modify the apps shown on the buttons on that screen? I love that they are there, and I use 2 of the 3. I use phone and Mail, but I do not use the default Messenger, I use Hancent, and I dont use the camera from this screen and would like to replace that.
Thanks,
Doug
Yup. Go to personalize > lockscreen, and them choose which lockscreen. In there, there is a settings button for the apps

OMG! THANK YOU. I feel like a dumb piece of crap. It was staring me right in the face and I did not see it.
thanks again.
I dont have a thank you button showing anywhere on the forum.
Dammmmmiiitttt... That Makes 2 of us. thanks.
also if you use a launcher other than sense ie launcher pro or adw, you have to make sure you switch back to sense before you can change the icons.
I've searched. I thhought I had this set up before but it may have been on another rom. Is there a way to keep my phone to going to the lock screen when it is plugged in? Thanks in advance.
Also, any apps you want on the lockscreen need to be on internal memory, they blank out if they're on sd.
Rather then start a new thread, I will ask my issue here since it is for Synergy, and a lock screen issue. Is there a way to lock the screen while on a phone call? I use a BT headset, usually answer the call from the headset and leave my phone in pocket. Problem in the phone unlocks when the BT headset answers the call, and funny things can happen to the phone while sliding around in my pocket while I work. Not to mention the battery life is decreased since the screen is on.
A related question, on Froyo somehow I could have the phone set to answer to the headset if I used the headset to take the call, or if I answered from the phone it would switch to the phone for speaker/mic. Any suggestions how to set that on this ROM?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Hi guys,
First time android user here. I've had a search on google and on this forum and I can't seem to find an answer to this so:
The HOX displays music controls in a widget when the lock screen is activated. However when there is no signal (such as when I am underground) this is replaced by a gigantic "no signal!" notification.
This is really annoying as it means I then have to go through the password screen and switch to the player before being able to switch track.
Is there any way to disable this notification? I mean, I can see there's no signal right there in the top corner...
Thanks in advance.
Bump
The lock screen player is amazingly buggy.
The controls often fail to work, and when there is no signal that "no signal!" message will often randomly switch back and forth with playback controls entirely unpredictably. I've come to the conclusion that this is a bug so hopefully there'll be a fix soon.
It's disappointing to see how rough around the edges a lot of the sense stuff is. It has very good intentions but frankly if this is supposed to be HTC's answer to iOS it's got a looooong way to go.

iOS doesn't even do anything, thats why it appears to work. theres no actual functions to get buggered up in the first place.
Thanks, but that doesn't actually help me with my phone. If you haven't noticed I bought an android device, not an iPhone.

one way i got round this is by pressing power button a couple more times to get the controls back on the lock screen when screen switched on again. might work for you too. still better than going through password etc.
but i agree not clever from htc. it's things like these which make products well tested and thought through.
The very first time I used my phone when the screen was locked I was able to get the music controls to come up with above the pattern. Now I can only get it to work by sliding down the notification panel which is an extra step that can be a little annoying when working out or driving. I searched and couldn't find any solutions and was wondering if anyone knew. I normally use google music, but I don't mind the samsung player.
And is the screen timeout function buggy? I have mine set to ten minutes and sometimes it'll stay on and sometimes it'll timeout after a couple minutes which is also a nuisance since I generally like to keep my screen on when I'm driving or exercising so I can stay focused.

what ROM are you running or are you stock rooted/unrooted?
Stock.
the music control feature on the lock screen was not included in the 4.1.1 release. you probably saw it before you updated and are not seeing it now. how recently did you update? moving to 4.1.1 is probably also related to your screen timeout issue.
Don't have a live wallpaper for lock screen. Controls will shows when static wallpaper is set for lock. Try Google play if stock music player does not show.

For the screen time out thing, do you have a secured lock time option under lock screen in your settings?

I have been using Cover which I quite like, but it's quite unstable and is no longer being developed.
Has anyone another Lock Screen to recommend with the ability to take on 6 or so short cuts and put the Play Music controls on top so you don't have to actually unlock to skip songs?
