Bluetooth to audio adapter - EVO 4G Accessories

This is not really specific to the EVO but I'm looking for a bluetooth to audio adapter (3.5 mm stereo) that is reasonably priced and will work well enough for music. I want to be able to listen to podcasts and the music located on my phone on something other than headphones or the built-in speaker. I recently purchased the Yamaha NX-B02 speakers which would have been a good solution but unfortunately they emit a high pitched squeal when connected via bluetooth that I find very annoying. With an adapter like this I'll just use my home stereo. I found a number of these on eBay but without reading some reviews I'm hesitant to drop the cash.

I just got this 2 days ago.
BH-214 Bluetooth Stereo Headset
So far it works very well for music (and stereo sound).
I've used if with buds at the gym and in my car (connected to an aux input) and have been very impressed with the sound.
However, when using it with my Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi buds... it sounds terrible.
It seems like it is not designed (although it appears to be) for stereo + mic.
I've need to try it with some of my other buds (w/ a mic) and see if it is isolated to them.
EDIT: I missed the mention about connecting it to a stereo. The downsides to this unit... is that I don't believe it transmits while charging.

I researched this quite a bit recently and this device has a lot of great reviews:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/accessories/music_gateway.jsp
Even though it's a Blackberry product it supports A2DP so it should work fine with the EVO. I don't own it so make sure you do your research but this looks like a great option.

I was using this in my car to stream audio to on my stereo and it worked great. Then I got a new head unit with bluetooth built in so I bought an AC/DC converter and plug this into the wall at home and connected it to my home stereo. Now I can stream everything from my phone to the home stereo. Works like a charm and I only picked this thing up for $30 on buy.com a year ago.

[Q] Connect WP7 to Car Stereo via USB?

I would like to purchase a new cd head unit for my car and use my Zune Pass on my WP7 device to play all my music via USB.
Why USB and not 3.5mm aux cable?
1 usb cable vs 1 usb cable + 1 aux cable
I would like to be able to charge my WP7 device and control volume/play/pause/etc from the car CD head unit rather than my WP7 device
1. Has anyone tried this or have another method to get this to work?
2. How is the quality of streaming music over bluetooth?
After searching the forums I found this post related to the galaxy s:

thanks
you cannot use usb and streaming music on any platform.
When you use a usb connector, then you are using your phone as usb storage device, that is why you control music from the head unit. This is not possible currently on wp7 since you cannot use your phone connected to a computer without zune installed.
The post you linked was for BT audio out, which works the same as the 3.5 jack, not usb.
any comments on the quality of BT audio out?

I use the the 3.5 jack.
I thought about BT audio but so many people have had trouble with winmo and Bt that I didn't want to spend 150.00 for the module to find out it didn't work.
3.5 - RCA cable....
Thats the best way to do it... Most car head units have an RCA AUX IN on the back.
Attach the the 3.5 - RCA cable to the head unit via the RCA and plug in a 3.5 - 3.5 cable to the phone.
Thats what I'm doing now....
It's in fact the BEST way to get the most out of the audio decoder as it goes from the phone - amp - speakers/sub, so the phone can be on low imput *best way* and the amp does all the work making it sound wonderful.
here is a pic of the one cable solution...

or the smaller version i have that i just plug in the extra cable from the glove box when i need it as the end just pops out from under the head unit with no long cables to hide.
bluetooth
bluetooth stereo is the best way to go i've been using it since windows mobile. sound quality is very good i don't notice the difference with aux cable but i have one in my car for my zune. with bluetooth you can control simple actions like you would on your phone like change tracks and volume and mine can also make calls and it shows you the name of the person calling you in the stereo lcd

USB audio

So I have a Fiio E10 DAC and it works fine with my nexus 7, but my N7 dropped like 2 feet and broke, so I don't feel like buying either a $100 dac or a new nexus 7 and I want the Fiio to work with my S3.
It powers the DAC and you hear the pop when it turns on but it won't play any sound...until I tried USB Audio Recorder app thingy and selected the Fiio as a test device for playback and it sent my own voice INTO THE DAC into my headphones..
So why the hell can that app send my own voice through to my headphones but I can't use the DAC on like the only phone ever to support USB DACs? and before someone sends me a retarded useless "the holy grail of android dac support thread" Iv'e already read it like 19 times and it's just a bunch of retardation where people post pictures and tell you what dac they got to work with their S3 or whatever. I want to know why my damn DAC won't work.
Here's very detailed proof that it works. on this stupid app that is for USB audio recording or whatever, and it only plays FLAC, WAV and ****

Explain how it's fair that this is THE ONLY WAY TO GET SOUND OUT OF MY DAC
how come no one has even tried to get one of the most popular affordable DACs to even work with the S3?
Are you using an OTG usb cable?
edit: n/m
USB Audio to FiiO E17
Like others, I can confirm that the GS3 will play audio files using the USB Audio Recorder app out the USB connection to a FiiO E17 DAC. I used a straight micro USB to mini USB cable, not an OTG cable with shorted 4&5 pins.
However, it isn’t a great solution for a general music player. USB Audio Recorder is not really a full music player, and it plays only 5 file types (OGG, WAV, FLAC, AICC, and one other). But my music app on my PC (Media Monkey) won’t synch files to the GS3 that it doesn’t think the GS3 will play, which is most or all of those file types. So I can only synch files that I can’t play with USB Audio Recorder. I tested that it works by transferring a FLAC file with the GS3 as a “Storage Device.” So, it works but it isn’t a good general music player solution.

Review of Anker Bluetooth stereo headset w/lots of pics!!!

This is a review of Anker Bluetooth Stereo headset for music streaming and hands free calling. http://www.amazon.com/Anker®-Bluetooth-Headset-HandsFree-Calling/dp/B00ENF5CZQ/
Yes, believe it or not, people still use these single piece on-ear wireless headsets when driving or outside where they still have to be aware of surrounding. That is a key with this type of headsets where your one ear is open to keep you aware of surrounding environment. Typically these feature better sound quality and more functionality in comparison to older models. So let's take a closer look at new addition to Anker's catalog.
Arrived in their signature environmentally friendly plastic-free package, you get a wireless headset with 2 sets of high quality adjustable ear-hooks, 3 pairs of silicone eartips in different sizes, and usb charging cable. This wireless headset is very light, at only 12g, and dimensions of approximately 55mm x 17mm x12mm and additional 15mm for earpiece part. The ear-hook rotates to adjust the angle by 360deg and can also be flipped 180deg for left/right ear use. It has a very sleek professional look with minimum controls, multifunction call/power button facing outside and volume up/down on the bottom edge. The top edge has micro-usb charging port.. Also, I was glad that Anker logo was printed inside, makes the outside of this headset to look clean. Furthermore, inside there was multi-color led indicator and microphone.
Pair up took seconds, and after initial connection a voice guidance provided a confirmation. Although I only tried using this headset inside where everything sounded crystal clearer up to 40ft away from my phone, according to the spec this headset is equipped with CVC (clear voice capture) echo and noise cancellation technology to help you in a noisy environment. As a bonus, beside just a phone connection, it was also connected to phone media (thanks to A2DP and AVRCP protocol support), and I was able to stream music from my Note 2 and remotely control the volume of the audio on my phone. Its a great feature since switching between playing music and picking up the call is seamless, and on a full battery charge you get up to 5hr of talk or audio playback.
Overall, its a great little wireless headset that packs a lot of features, has a nice solid build, and a very professional look. Considering a price of under $20 shipped and 18-month warranty with lifetime tech support - this is one great value as well.
Here are the pictures.

Not too long ago I was able to get a hold of an Amped Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Adapter (BTSA1) and thought it a good time to put down a review of my experience so far. Amped Wireless, more commonly known for their amped (pun obviously intended) Wi-Fi offerings, not too long ago started offering this streaming audio adapter. There's not much that sets it apart from some of the other bluetooth streaming adapters out there, except for one big feature: you can connect this directly to any speaker/audio output device. It packs an enhanced bluetooth receiver which allows me to stream to it from my computer, tablet and phone from almost anywhere in the house - much farther than the standard 30ft distance (and let's face it - at 10ft the signal starts to fade pretty quickly at that). I could stream to it from about 30 feet away in my back room, but any more than that and the signal starts to fade. Definitely better than a standard bluetooth connection though.
It comes with RCA (R and L) and 3.5mm (standard headset port) connections, along with the requisite cable, so that you can connect either RCA to headphone jack, or headphone jack to RCA depending on your specific audio setup.
Once you connect via bluetooth, it operates just like a normal bluetooth speaker or headset does (minus the voice features). However one thing I noticed, to my relative excitement, is that Google Music treats this device as something you can "cast" to. So you select the cast icon and you're presented with the option to cast to it. That's a great feature, which while it's not technically streaming in the same way that you would "cast" to a Chromecast, it is definitely a feature the company could do well to promote. Something like "Google Music compatible" or something.
All in all, with a price tag of $69.99 it's probably a bit steep for a normal audio device, but with the connections to make any speaker or audio system a streaming center, it's not half bad. You can find more information at their website.
Thanks for the info.
How about the sound quality? Did you notice any significant quality degradation when playing music, compared to a wired setup?
I did not - it was crisp and clear. Of course as I moved furthest away it would be a bit choppy, but otherwise it was solid.

over all look ... well the black and the neon greenish. actually doesn't look bad at all.
So I found that these headphones sound amazing for the price. Honestly i wasn't expecting it at all. I was given these as a product sample to review. So i will give my honest unfiltered opinions.
So far i have connected to my android device. also my windows computer. i have made several phone calls. all parties said i sounded clear. For music playing such as Pandora. or even streaming your own. these are amazing. its hard to find a pair of wireless Bluetooth headset that last more then 8 to 9 hrs. easy 12 hrs on this with a full charge. i found the soft design of the material for the speaker to be wonderful. soft on the ears.
I also found the adjustable head strap fights nicely. not to tight where its noticeable. Connection to windows 10 64 bit was seemless for me. using a older 2.1 Bluetooth dongle.
all in all i definitely recommend these. at amazons price its not a bad deal. mie will be staying hooked to my desktp i like them tat much. already have a charging area set for them. comes with a usb cale cord charger. micro usb.
