Starting some time last night, my phone will now refuse to make calls.
I go to the call screen, type in a number/select a previous/find a contact/whatever, and it will go to the screen where it dials, but will then flash back to the call screen and exit itself out of the call screen quickly as well.
I've tried restarting it a few times, turning the phone off in the connections screen (airplane mode/phone/wifi/data/etc) to no avail.
At one point I took the battery out last night because IE locked the phone up on a youtube vid, but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.
Huh... just had this announcement released at my company...
"AT&T Mobility 3G users unable to place or receive calls this morning
There was an system issue this morning where UMTS customers in the Central Illinois market were not able to place or receive calls. The users may receive call failed on outbound and inbound calls may route directly to vm. "
Guess that explains it.

Hey everybody
So I've had my DHD on Vodafone since November. Since that time I've been having a recurring problem making out going calls as well as forwarding text messages and occasionally receiving calls.
Making Outgoing Calls: Whenever I try to make an outgoing call the phone will bleep and say 'Call ended'.. It does this alot at first it was across the board but tonight I seem to be able to call everyone apart from the person I actually need to call (typical).
Forwarding texts: I dont seem to be able to forward texts at all.. They get sent from my phone and it shows up as being sent but they are never received.
Receiving Calls: Less of a problem however every now and then people will try to call me and wont be able to get through.. Also sometimes the phone will cut out in the middle of calls.
Has anyone experienced problems like this before and if so what are the solutions??
I have tried switching the network settings and my wi fi is off and nothing has worked. I have also taken the phone apart and cleaned all of the contacts..
Phone already restored??
Sim Card tested in another phone, whether the card is OK??
Ask the provider to send you the right net configuration via sms??
only some ideas you can try....

Hello everyone. My epic touch works great except I can't receive calls. I think that this is a google voice issue because once I disable the google voice + sprint integration, everything works fine. Sometimes, my phone tells me that I have a missed call. The last time I remember receiving a call is before I installed the google voice app (not sure if that this is the cause). I haven't been able to receive a call for nearly four weeks now.
I am at my wit's end. I think I have tried everything short of posting to this forum until now, including:
1.) Following the advice on a similar thread in this forum. (To dial *710)
2.) Elsewhere it was suggested to dial *720, *730, and *740.
3.) Calling sprint. They suggested it was due to a service outage, though I doubt this is the case as I live in an area with good coverage.
4.) Doing a PRI reset to factory default settings.
5.) Uninstalling the google voice app (and reinstalling it).
6.) Setting up another google voice account to try with a different number.
7.) Having google voice integrate my carrier number over instead of the google voice number.
8.) Following the instructions on post #4 on this sprint forum thread. (To remove google voice, reboot phone, update profile etc., call sprint)
9.) Googling around. There seem to be others who have asked google directly for advice, but they all seem to be "closed to responses" before the issues are definitively resolved.
10.) Flashed another modem.bin found elsewhere on this epic 4g touch forum.
11.) I'm sure there have been other things I've tried..
Can anybody help me? I rarely ask for help but I think I've exhausted all of my options. I'm running StarBurst 1.6.
PS - Is it bad forum etiquette to write in bold so much here?
My phone wasnt receiving calls and i thought it was a google voice issue, so i uninstalled it and still the same issue of not receiving calls.
I dont know if your issue is the same as mine, but when my phone isnt connected to a charger or computer in sleep/idle mode, it wont receive calls or text. my text will come in when i hit the power button to bring it out of idle/sleep mode.
I got the run around from sprint customer service for about a week because of the issue so today they told me to take it to a service center to get it checked out. Turns out the phone is defective and they're going to take a week to get me a new phone.
Its not google voice, with the guy above me that makes 3 of us who are not receiving calls while in sleep mode!

I'm not sure we have the same issue. I never have a problem with text, regardless of whether my charger is connected or not. If I disable google voice integration, I can receive calls to my carrier number, whether or not the phone is in sleep mode. It doesn't look like google forwards calls to my phone when someone calls my google voice number, though.
After re-enabling google voice integration, I left my phone out of sleep mode, called it, and awhile later the phone did ring for about half a second before displaying a missed call. This does not consistently happen as this is the first time I've seen this.
Hello All, I will start off by letting you know I am running AOKP M3 with the i9250UGKL1 (though this also happened before on the previous stock radio i was using), I am also on AT&T in northern new jersey. I work from my basement and service is pretty weak, 2 bars - 0 bars(though it still says I have service and I can make and receive calls). Before this phone I had a SGS2 I777 which never had a problem like this.
The problem is that sometimes when people call me my phone never rings, and on there end it continues to ring until given my voicemail, normally when I wouldnt have service or something it would go straight to voicemail, therefore the person would realize i was on the phone, or my phone was dead or something, but the problem is the phone rings on the other end yet I recieve no calls, I use google voice and have it set up that when I miss calls google voice sends me an email. So it is very weird, google voice recognizes that the call was missed and went through yet my phone never received the call or even acknowledges it ever happened. I can also call the person back from the same spot the phone has been sitting with no issue, so its not like i dont have service.. Since this is an international unlocked phone, I am assuming it would be pointless in calling at&t and seeing if they could do anything about it, So I am just wondering if anything else is experiencing anything like this or has a solution, its pretty irritating!
Last weekend I was at my folks' house in West Tennessee, probably about twenty-five miles from I-40. We hadn't been there in about 2-1/2 years. Since then, some Sprint towers evidently have been installed. For many years, once I got about five miles away from the interstate to head to their town, phone would switch to roaming and be like that the whole weekend until I got back to the interstate en-route home. I was pleased that when we arrived Friday night, phone had decent bars and not in roaming. I could receive texts, emails, get on the internet w/no issues. However, I noticed Saturday morning that I could not make an outgoing phone call, would get the message "your account is not authorized to make calls, please contact customer support to make changes, etc.". However, I could receive calls, and the other 3 lines from the rest of the family could make calls (iPhone5, Galaxy S2, Samsung Epic). So I used my wife's phone to call Sprint. They did a number of provisioning, reprogrammed the phone, etc. I gave them my parents address and they said the closest tower was 5 miles away and that may be the issue....but I said the other 3 Sprint phones can call out. I noticed that the boxes in Roaming Guard settings were all checked but couldn't uncheck them, found that strange. We went back and forth from Sprint only to Automatic, no success. I even did ##3282#, and edited several things, no dice. They were able to remotely uncheck those boxes in the guard settings, but still, couldn't make a call. We were about fed up and running out of options (before having to take the phone to a Sprint store far, far away), when the lady asked if I use Google Voice. I said yes, and that it's only for receiving voice mail (which I like, since it formulates the message into text/email). She suggested to disable it (which she did), then have me reboot and try making a call. Sure enough, that's what it was............so I've permanently disabled Google Voice. I was getting pretty frustrated not being able to make a call with my expensive device. So I thought I would post in case this happens to anybody else and could use this as a trouble-shooting tip.

google voice shoud have no effect on you making calls. is your sprint number and gv number integrated or are you just forwarding your vm to gv?
I believe it was integrated (but definitely wasn't using a different phone number).
At least once per day, since the phone came out of the box (March 4th), and continuing after the subsequent update, I get notified of a new voicemail or missed call via my voicemail service but the phone NEVER rang. Nor does the call log show a missed call.
Unbranded, unlocked device purchased directly from Samsung. And generally wherever the phone is sitting when this occurs I have plenty of service connectivity.
Could it be an issue with having the Wifi on? Being as I am on AT&T I cannot use Wifi calling with an unbranded phone, so is that somehow interfering? I get 75-80% of incoming calls, no problem.
Same issue here. Exynos variant in India
