I haven't seen a thread on this yet so I decided to test it out last night. Here are the results (TV is a Sony 60KDLNX720):
From the TV:
1) Browsing and viewing video from the phone: worked as expected.
2) Browsing and viewing photos from the phone: No photos found.
3) Music: No music on phone, couldn't test.
From the Phone:
1) Browsing and playing video on the TV: Could not connect to TV. Could not find a way to make it work.
2) Browsing and displaying photos on the TV: Worked as expected, but pretty slow with 2.5 MB photos.
3) Music: No music on phone, couldn't test.
So the result is that it works, barely well enough. You can actually display both videos and photos on your TV, but you have to use the TV interface to view videos and the phone interface to display photos. Certainly not ideal and hopefully it can be patched or a work around found.
I've done DLNA to the same TV via my PS3 without any problems.
I haven't had a chance to test the MHL port as I don't have an adapter. But I've heard from other posts that it is mostly working (but may have audio issues).
I could add to this and say I was able to stream to my Logitech Revue Google TV.
has anyone been able to make this work on a Mac? I would like to stream video/photo from my phone to my screen. I tried twonky & serviio, was able to stream from Mac -> phone, but never the other around. it always says "Device not found".

Don't have a Mac, but iMediaShare [lite] is worth a try...
Im having a few issues with my Media Link HD. I have got it all set up and the mirroring works perfectly on the TV however when I try to play video clips that I have recorded with my phone it says "The file type is unsupported" and the video does not play. Also when I try to play YouTube videos the screen just goes grey with a picture on a TV and a mobile phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get these bits working? Many thanks.
*Bump*
I just got a nice deal on the Galaxy Nexus which included the Samsung Multimedia Dock which has HDMI output.
I connected my HDMI cable and docked my phone but while playing XviD files only the audio comes through and not the video. The TV just shows a blue Android guy and thats it.
Anyone know of a work around for this problem?
I tried different player apps and nothing worked yet.
I can play videos from the Play store through HDMI just fine, it's my own video files that I have trouble with.
Appreciate the help! :good:
So far encoding the file to a compatible format with HandBrake has made it work. This is a pain though. Must be that the Dock doesn't support some encoding profiles/formats.
anybody dropbox account face a problem with streaming videos in mp4 format? Not sure if it is something to do with the 4k screen. I used to be able to stream them over my phone but now it says video problem and unable to play them.
i am however able to stream them on my Gpad thus it should not be a file corruption.

I have not found a solution for this either, but would love to be able to figure it out soon.
I more or less figured out how to connect my tablet to my Samsung smart tv. Am i correct in finding the tablet doesn't want to play .mkv format videos? I seem to have to convert them to .avi or .mp4.
