Market application not installing in Froyo - Desire General

My desire is unlocked. I installed HTC stock rom of froyo.
Only one problem: The application from market downloads to the phone but during installation the phone restarts and therefore no market application can be installed.
bootloader is .80 and software number is 2.09.405.8
Radio version is 4.06.00.02_2
Please suggest..........

Hi, I am currently having the sort of same problem, which is that after updating to stock Froyo, my android market seems not working properly. I can still browse the market, but everytime I try to install a new app/ update the app installed before, it only says it starts downloading, but it only stops right there and can't never finish downloading the apps. i tried restarting and removing the battery, but nothing works. mine's euro unlocked Desire A8181, stock Froyo, unrooted
p.s. sorry for any stupid remarks, i'm pretty new here.

[Q] Problems Upgrading to 2.2

Hi
I got the message informing me the upgrade is available, i downloaded the file. When i tried to install it, i got a message telling me i need to have at least 25mb phone memory, i uninstalled some apps and got the memory up to 45mb but it still wouldn't update. I rebooted my phone and now i don't know how to install the update, i can see the file in my downloads but i don't know how to got about installing it. I tried to check for software updates but it keeps telling me my i'm up to date, however my firmware is 2.1. How do i get the update installer to come up again? Is anybody having the same problem? Any solutions?
Thanks in advance
Can you still see it in your downloads? Then just press it, that started it for me.
(be sure that you have a goldcard inserted if you have a debranded phone)
I can see it in my downloads through my file manager, but when i click it i just i see more files, is there anywhere else to access the downloads, i tried through the web browser but i can't see it.
By debranded phone do you mean sim free
Thanx in advance
With debranded I mean you used to have, for example t-mobile (or whatever provider you have) splash screen when booting up instead of htc. or that you had some programme's preinstalled by your provided on phone. And now have gotten rid of all that stuff by installing a clean htc rom.
As to how to get the update working, I don't know.
I solved the problem, i stopped hello fota and downloaded the update again.
Thanx a lot for your help Flaggie

[Q] Market down?

What's going on with the market? I literally downloaded ClockworkMod about 15 minutes ago and tried flashing something, the file wasn't there so I didn't end up flashing, turned the phone back on and the market just will NOT download. Has it gone down?
Also just quickly, if I flash RUU 1.32 or whatever it's called, will I lose root?

Click to collapse
You will lose root, yes
And market is working fine for me
Obivously something I've done along the way, http://zantekk.de/~desire_hd/offici....140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_signed.exe this is the latest version we have root for, correct?
I just installed Android RevolutionHD 2.0.15 (and after a reboot 2.0.16) for the first time and trying to get my apps on the phone through the market and it seems that i have the same problem:
If i want to download any app with any connection it tries to start and soon it sais "unable to download... plz try later blabla"
Was wondering if the problem was related to the Custom Mod AR HD because someone in the mods thread had the same problem. But when you're saying you're on stock rom i think something is going on here^^
[e] Now its working again. Seems it was related with the store and not the rom.
I did correct permissions through Rom Manager (installed with apk) though im not sure if it is related to the market now working again.

[Q] "Download Failed" - Market Problem after flashing...

Hi there,
hope you can help me. I used to have the usual OTA update, but got pissed because of the locations force from HTC. So I decided to downgrade and flash a custom rom.
I used the tutorial available here, did visionary, then s-off and eng radio s-off, even flashed the radio as recommended (after flashing the roms).
I tried several ROMs:
- [ROM] Android Revolution HD 5.1.7
- [ROM]LeeDrOiD HD V3.0.3 GB [KERNEL] V3.1.2
- [ROM][May 20]RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.0 Evolutionary Sense! THE ORIGINAL SENSE 3.0
All seemed to install fine, but all had the same problem:
Via Android Market, every download failed. Why?
Please help! I want my apps back!
Could be a router problem. Have you tried using the data connection rather than WiFi?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Have you tried clearing the data for the market app?
Setting>application>manage app>clear data and cache.
Sent from my TARDIS using XDA App
Router works fine,
cleared everything via the app menĂ¼. downloader, market, etc.
In no way, this phone does any download startet via market. Crazy thing is, that via http://market.android.com/ I can start the downloads, but not within the app.
I tried 4 Roms, and even the Stock Rom without root does not work properly anymore.
Please help, I am really helpless.
Did chat now about 2hrs with HTC live support. They are helpless too.
Resettet the phone all over, again and again.
Funny thing is, that under apps, installed apps, listed are:
- amazon mp3
- facebook
- soundhood
those three work. the others dont. neither am i allowed to mark google maps as "update automatically" (my phone is german), and every try updating or installing apps fails.
Funny thing is, that with a blank account, another gmail account with no content, it seems to work. But I need my main mail account of course, as I made purchases already, etc.
Please, someone here to help?

Official update problem

Hi! My HTC Wildfire S became laggy so i decided to do a hard reset.
After doing that, i'm stuck with a few problems:
1) My Android version is 2.22.405.1. When i search for system
updates, it says, that my phone is up to date. I read, that
2.3.5 is officialy available, i'd like to have at least 2.3.3, but first
i'd just like to get notice, that update is available. I resetted the phone
few more times, but every time there are no updates.
2) I entered gmail account with market and it found updates for gmail and
market... but all downloads are paused?
Any help please?
TY
Oh yes.. and upper notification tab... it's gone! I can't pull
the bar down anymore.
Anyone?...
Download an official ruu and run it.
You may need to create a goldcard.

[Q] Problem downloading/updating and deleting apps. unrooted

It seems like ever since the market updated to google play i can't download any new apps on my phone (the force close and disappear as soon as i open them). Also, when i try to update existing apps they also force close and disappear but they end up coming back if i restart my phone. Also applications that i've had on my phone that i don't use any more I can't get rid of. I delete them and they come right back as well.
I've tried to restore my phone in tons of diffrent ways, regular factory reset, ruu, thought hboot, and htc sync. Factory reset and hboot just give me a red exclamation that i can't get around, the ruu someone told me to use didn't work i believe because the version of android i'm running and htc sync always tells me my phone isn't connected when clearly it is because i can open it up and explore it on my computer.
I'm at a loss, anyone have any ideas?
Time for a new phone?
Maybe consider rooting? I actually haven't seen a dinc with GB 2.3.4 that upgraded to google play, for some reason I've seen it stay with the market. My phone hasn't been in stock for a long time so I couldn't really say if that were true now but I know that google play was first released back in March and mid-april when I first rooted my Dinc, it was still on the android market. That being said, the dinc is far from trash if you are willing to root and flash a custom ROM to it.
I've seen this problem on ROMs when the version of gapps wasn't compatible with the ROM anymore because either the ROM was updated or gapps was updated and compatibility was lost. Usually in that situation I would recommend that person to do a fresh flash of their ROM with the newest google apps but in your case I would suggest flashing a custom ROM for the first time. if that is not an option you want to explore at this time, I believe that if you place this PB31IMG.zip on the root of your SD card (which must be formatted to FAT32) and then get into hboot it will reflash gb for you which might do the trick.

my DINC upgraded to google play when it was on stock. But really, stock sucks and has bugs. Upgrade to a real firmware listed here
