What's the controls to change the internet access on the phone ... I remember yuu go to the phone app then type #*#*(4 numbers)*#*# or somethin ... any1 know what it is ?

location on text messages

Sometimes when I send a text message my location shows up after the texts I send. How do I stop it. I send one message and my location shows up a half a dozen times after.

I think your using an application that's causing your location to show through text. I think I seen an app like that in the apps market. Do you remember downloading any new text our location apps?

How often does it do it? Exactly what does it say? City and street or state?

it says lat and long with a google map link of where i am at

Hmmm, seems like you have some sort of phone locator app running in background. You should recheck your installed apps.

Not to call you a liar, but that is definitely a 3rd party app causing that. Check through your apps. Hopefully it'll work.

All right you guys must be right. It's just that I haven't installed any apps in like 2 weeks or longer so I have tunnel vision. I will uninstall a few and see if that clears up my problem. Funny thing is it doesn't happen all the time maybe every 4 days or so. If I find the little bastard I will warn other ppl of this.

I don't think its just any app. Its most likely a 3rd party location app or sms app. If you have any of those then check the settings. I'm petty sure you can keep the app, but disable the setting that has anything to do with location.

[Q] GAH, I put an app shortcut on the App Drawer button...

So I accidentally dragged a app shortcut onto the main button that brings up my app drawer... how do I undo this? I feel EXTREMELY stupid, but I cannot find how to revert it back...

Menu > Add or long press on homescreen > Custom Shortcut > Pick your activity > Launcher Actions > Choose open/close App Drawer. When it's on the homescreen, just drag it to shortcut bar.

Sweet Jesus, thank you. I figured out what the Swipe actions were for so as a work around had Swipe Up set to the app drawer... thanks!

This is for the latest ADW launcher which is included in CM6.1.

As stated above, the latest ADW Launcher allows you to not only put four applications at the bottom, but it allows you to replace the app drawer button with a shortcut to any app as well. I was use to dragging apps to the bottom to "trash" them, but the latest CM nightlys have the trash button at the top. So when I dragged an app to what I thought would be the trash, it replaced my app drawer button.

Ha, I did the same thing a few weeks ago. Couldn't figure it out so I went back and did a fresh install. Cue facepalm.

Ahh, i see. Im still running cm 6.1 rc2. Too scared to flash the stable version since i read alot of people are having battery life issues

I've been running stable for 3 or 4 days now (it used to be my phone, but I gave it to a friend, who wanted me to update it for him and then test it) and I've had about the same battery life I did running CM 6.1-RC1. A little more or less depending on daily usage.
As for the ADW thing, I've done it about half a dozen times now on the MTS and the G2 (as in, a piece). I don't consider myself an idiot, although some speculate to the contrary, so don't feel bad.

The battery life didn't change in stable, but it's still pretty bad. I'm strongly considering going back to sense, but possibly a froyo sense, not sure yet. Cr_mod got horrible quadrant scores and was slower with a lot of things. I'm getting sick of low battery life though. if you really want good life, use a sense rom.

Troubleshooting Menu Bar on Home Screen

Anybody ever have problems with the menu bar on the home screen? My phone will not let me open the menu which would allow me to see all the apps on my phone. My daughter somehow managed to put one of her game apps icon where the menu button goes on the home screen. I'm running android 2.2 using cyanoginger 1.1, I've never had any problems except this one. Anyone have any solutions or suggestions? I made a youtube video but I can't post the link here just yet, the site says I need more post replys. If you go to youtube and type in "troubleshooting mytouch 3g slide" it should pop out. Thanks a bunch fir any help!

I'm asuming you talking about the button that opens the app drawer. All u need to do is touch and hold an empty space on ur homescreen, launcher actions, then open drawer, then drag that icon to the place where the game icon is. Hopefully that was clear enough

I did what u said but after I touch an empty space on my homescreen no where does it say "launcher actions." It just says widget, wallpapers, shortcut, and folders. Am I suppose to choose one of these options?

its press and hold open space, short cut, launcher activities, open app draw, when it creates it on the desktop drag it onto where the game button is
This happened to me right after I rooted and scared the crap out of me... But a google search lead me to the answer

For some odd reason I don't have the option "launcher activities" after I choose shortcut. Did I forget to install something after I flashed the ROM?
Edit: Never mind guys I found it. It was under the "custom shortcut" deal. I feel like such a nooob!! Thanks for all the help, appreciate it!

Trick: elastic scroll through homescreen1-7 fast!!

Instead of the swiping through homescreens 1-7
To do this faster take your thumb on any homescreen your on ,doesnt matter!!And find the # screen you are on.... longpress it and move thumb up half inch then left to right it allows you to Super Swipe to any screen faster.

I knew it was in the owners manual and have seen enough reviews before the phone came out to know i was just trying to have respect and not embarrass the guy
