I recently followed the unrevoked guide to root my phone and put on the clockworkmod custom recovery image (for slcd http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748618). Everything appeared to go smooth, unrevoked said it was a success, been using it for a few hours now and all of a sudden it wont boot sits at the htc screen, I also can't boot into recovery mode (shows a black line at the top of the screen then powers down). Its a brand new telus desire. Anyone know where i go from here to trouble shoot this/reset the device.
last thing I did was copy over a froyo rom to the sd card and try to install it using clockworks rom tools from the sd card, however that process just rebooted my phone. So i assume it didnt do anything.

run unrevoked again.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
Kind of related:
After running rom manager and asking it to reboot into recovery it no longer will. Stuck at HTC screen.
So it's safe to just re run unrevoked? Won't try and reroot my custom rom or anything?
What did you do to solve your problem? I have the same problem.
Sorry for the double post, I realized afterwards this was a better place for the question

Is there a way to try to reflash the recovery image without being able to boot into android?
what do you get when u hold volume down and power button? do you not get hboot screen?
if you do then not bricked
I can get to the screen, but I cannot enter recovery, when I choose recover it vibrates, htc logo comes up then powers down. I cant boot into android , cant get to the recovery screen, so Im at a bit of loss what to do next.

you have to download that ISO and burn it on cd and boot the linux and follow the command as if it was the 1st time you are rooting, if step 2 does not work then skip it and see if it boots into recovery. i remember i had to play with it for a bit
I had something similar, Volume UP, then hit power? Select recovery, then wait 30 seconds, then update zip, then get it from there? Worth a try?
that wont work with the 0.83 bootloader will it ?
Anyone else have a solution?
I assume I may need to wait for a tiny linux version compatible with hboot 0.83? so that I can restore my recovery image? unless i can boot android
I cant connect in Win. because it wont boot..
How does fastboot work ? could I copy a slcd image over the microsd ( i dont have a card reader to test right now)card run fastboot, and have android boot long enough to sync windows and attempt to reapply the unrevoked recovery image?
I was trying to Root my Desire and made a Gold card for the same and Rooted the phone with Unrevoked one click method. Afterwards I tried to reebot into recovery mode but got stuck at the white screen with a small black line at the top. I reeboted the phone again and everything loaded fine.
Then again I tried to install the leedroid ROM through ROM manager and the phone restarted in recovery mode and again got stuck at the white screen with a black strip at the top. I waited for 10 minutes and restarted the phone by pulling out the battery.
Now the phone is not starting at all and is getting stuck at the starting white screen and still not going into recovery mode. I can't access the phone through andorid SDK. The phone just keeps showing HTC screen and never boots. Unable to install even RUU as the phone never boots.
Please any help would be really appreciated.
My HBOOT version is 0.83.0001
I recently rooted my HTC Incredible and flashed Cyanogen 7 on it. There were a few issues with the ROM, so I decided to try to flash it again. I backed everything up, then went into ROM Manager and flashed Clockwork, then selected the option to reboot in Recovery mode. But when I got to the HBoot screen and tried to select "Recovery," the HTC Incredible screen flashed, but then I was brought instead to the "Fastboot" menu. If I select "Bootloader" and try again, I'm brought back to Hboot. It is now stuck on this cycle.
I tried to reboot the phone to get into the ROM Manager, but when I did that, the phone got stuck on the Cyanogen splash screen. It's done this multiple times.
Consulting a friend, I then went on to dougpiston.com and downloaded a recovery .zip (Verzion 3.0.0.8), put it on my SD card via someone else's phone, and put the SD card back in my phone. There was no change.
This is where I am currently. I'm still new to rooting, and I've done the research that I can. But every thread I found that dealt with problems booting into Recovery required you to be able to boot up the phone. Every thread that dealt with problems booting up regularly made use of Recovery mode. I'm stuck here, and I would really appreciate any advice.
So did you actually flash the recovery you downloaded? The recoveries from www.dougpiston.com are PB31IMG.zip files that are flashed in hboot. Put it on the root of the SD card, boot in hboot, it will find the zip and ask you if you want to update, press volume up to confirm. Then try to boot into recovery.
After much sweating and cursing, a friend of mine noticed that my SD card somehow changed its format from FAT32. We moved all of the card's contents off, formatted it, and then put everything back on before reinserting it and booting the phone. Hboot performed its update, then we were able to boot into Clockwork. I wiped the phone clean and re-flashed Cyanogen. That got me back into the phone, where a few small fixes took care of the few minor problems that began this whole nightmare.
Thanks for your help. If you hadn't suggested poking around the card we wouldn't have found the problem!
I'm glad you got it figured out! I totally spaced to tell you to make sure the SD card was fat32, I just kind of assumed.
Okay so i have had my Incredible 2 for about 4 months s-off via revolutionary, any way i flashed ukb evolution 1.1 a couple of weeks ago and it has been working great, the other day the phones battery died, and when i went to reboot the device after charging it, all it does is sit at the white HTC screen, and nothing else, then i did a battery pull loaded into bootloader and tried recovery (Ext4) with the same result, stuck at the white screen, so i figured my phone was messed up so i downloaded the pg32img file from condemmedsoul's goo.im, loaded to sd card and let the ruu run, when it prompted to reboot i did, but on the reboot it got stuck on the white HTC screen yet again.
So at this point i need to know is my phone bricked? if so how would i go about flashing the 0.98 hboot (since i can still access bootloader) and returning to s-on? or is there an easy fix that i havent thought of?
