In my opinion I am using Damage Control 3.5 Final... but you have to fully rooted (have unlocked your NAND) for this ROM to install. So if you used toast's method to ROOT you should be fine. I have excellent battery life and havent had any problems witht this ROM. Wifi tether works (I used it yesterday to jailbreak an iPad at bestbuy).

I'm defiantly full nand unlocked.does that rom have sense installed? I use launcher pro. Also hows your ram on that one? On fresh typically have about 175-200 free.

Yes it does have Sense.. .and Internal Phone storeage is about 300MB before I installed all of my apps...

I use CyanogenMod, the nightly builds (it's gotten a lot faster than RC1 since a few days ago).
Personally there are some aspects of Sense I miss... Mostly the text select for copy/paste, since vanilla Android's implementation sucks, but overall I prefer CyanogenMod more, hands-down. Also, I trend to average around 180-200MB free RAM.
As far as I know, if you don't want any trace of Sense on your phone, CyanogenMod is your only real choice, since it is built from the ground up on Android's sourcecode.
But with any other ROM, Sense can be disabled.
The two I'd recommend would be CyanogenMod or Baked Snacks. I haven't tried Damaged Goods though... I'll have to try it out.
Oh, and just so you know, CyanogenMod currently doesn't have 4G, if that matters to you.

for DC 3.5 you can very easily Ban sense in DCONFIG if you dont want it. I ban all sprint apps, sense, and launcher in the config so that all i am left with is launcher pro.
This lets me have my 4g, hdmi, fm radio. Still lets me have 2.2 and gets rid of sense. plus DC is an amazing rom anyway.

(Q) Is there a better rom than UD

Hey I'm using the ultimate droid rom for the g2. And it must have got discontinued because I xant find it anywhere. So I'm looking for a replacement rom. Looking for vanilla, no sense (ew). And something with a good kernal maybe the 1.8 or 1.9OC? Anyways looking for better preformance and not a downgrade from what I'm using.

what do you mean by you can't find it anymore...?
http://www.blackdroidmod.com/
I left ud for pyromod. The dev can be a **** though(yeah I said it) . But now I'm on the gingerbread leak for the g2 and perfect after adding a few things. Pyro is good, xboarders stuff is good too, stock gingerbread rocks.
You are aware that xda isn't the only place in the world to get roms right? If you used this crazy new invention called google you wouldn't of even made the discontinued statement

It's got some different options, not sure if it's better than CM7 though. I would wholeheartedly recommend meXdroid or Pyromod here; both are CM7 variants that have great themes with some tweaks to CM7's base. Users of UD would probably feel right at home with either.
Guess I should try this Pyro mod

Also your not going to find any rom comming with a 1.8ghz standard. Thats for advanced users and you need to make it work yourself so you dont fry your phone. I would recomend you stick to 1.5ghz tops. You wont notice any difference anyway unless your trying to compete with quad/linepack scores....

Supersonic w/ sense 3.0.

I'm a noob, so feel free to set me straight. I have tried several of the custom roms and while I enjoy certain aspects (speed, UI, themes, etc.), they all have small quirks or seem incomplete. My question is: Is anyone working on a Supersonic based Rom with a Sense 3.0 experience while fully functional (hdmi, camera,)?

Yes there are several roms actually Like AllianceROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1120734
some roms are sense 2.1 with 3.0 elements like synergy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144447
virusrom kingdom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071547
and mikg http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038967
And all are still being supported
All of these roms are fantastic but I prefer synergy then kingdom roms
Battery life might be awful but give it 2 days and the battery life will settle in...
Later there will be custom kernels to increase battery life so much but htc hasnt released their kernel source yet
I've tried them and they have great a great feel. I don't understand why Netflix and Hulu is such a priority w/o working hdmi. Cart before the horse.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
hdmi will come soon. once htc releases the kernel source, somebody will put in HDMwIn mods into the kernel, and you can use the HDMwIn app with it. so that's where hdmi will come from.
same with battery life. havs, smartass, undervolting, and sbc will all come once htc releases the source.
btw: flash synergy. flash the 3.0 carousel rosie in the same recovery session. laugh in the face of danger.
I like Alliance a lot, but I'm back to stock rooted again. Synergy had some issues but not bad. I even tried team xron's 3d port, but it has some serious compatibility issues.

seems to me that if your base supports hdmi, adding a sense 3.0 UI would not be an issue. I thought most of the developers were using a shift base. I guess if it were easy someone would have a fully functional Rom by now.

bcuz shift has gingerbread and sense 2.1 now (luckyyyy). doing it that way was easier than porting a sense 3.0 rom, and we got 4g right off the bat. but it's still a sense 3.0 rom in everything except base and rosie apk (and you can always flash a sense 3.0 rosie)

i've found that virus rom is probably the best if you are used to sense and want all the functions with all the stability. flashed different releases on 2 differents evos and both superior to stock sense and no noticeable issues. - always did full wipe with amon ra. (although i personally stick to AOSP, EVO Deck Gingerbread 1.2 specifically... i flash sense if its a new rom or if i need dialer) there's my 2 cents

OTA

If I were to restore to my stock backup, and tell it to update, will it take my root? I'm kinda thinking about unrooting, just cuz I'd like to go back to stock..... I think. Someone please tell me what will/might happen if I tell it to take the update.

Why not just download a rooted stock rom? Going back to stock if you unroot gains nothing. Unless you are taking the phone back.
Ok. I was kinda wanting to also make sure it was faster and I could freeze stuff if I needed to. I was using skyraider yesterday, but my speed went way down. But I also think it could've been due to the mods I was using.
Also, what is the fastest sense based ROM? Like uses least amount of RAM and CPU. Can someone point me in the right direction?

All ics roms for vivow have some issues. The question is do you want sense or aosp?
UKB is probably the best sense rom out right now. Sense 4, android 4.0.3. Smooth, fast, excellent battery. Camera fcs a lot for some.
For aosp, you have Kangdemnation or an older version of PA. PA is moving on to JB, but I think version 1.9.5 is ics.
Most of the problems are camera related, but many have been fixed. BT is another area of concern/ongoing development. Sound issues, too.
Search through the threads for these issues before you ask a question. Most of these threads are quite large.

If you don't feel the need for Ice Cream Sandwich, I use Cyanogenmod 7.2 stable for my "old reliable" It's much faster than stock, better battery life, and everything works 100% for me. Just my 2 cents.
I'm pretty much a rookie myself, and wanted the most stable ics rom I could get. The UKB looked great, but I decided to try tazz's ic rom first. It sounds like it should be stable too. I just flashed it earlier today, so haven't had much time with it yet, but so far it looks great. It sucks as much as everyone in that thread promised.
In my experience, Tazz's ROM is probably the number one out there right now. Granted, you're stuck with Sense but there are some devs out there stripping Sense away from this ROM and another one. Everything works out of the box (including camera which is huge for me), but like I mentioned, you're stuck with Sense and I've personally moved to Paranoid Android 1.5a which has CM9 as a base. Works pretty great, although my ffc pictures often show up corrupt/glitchy/garbled. Now to make more posts so I can have the privilege of commenting about this bug...

LOL yeah, that was an entertaining and informative thread!
I just stuck to the Aeroevan's CM9 07/12 build with v12 kernel (pretty outdated, but I don't use the phone anymore) and gave it to my mother. So far, she's loving it to the point where she's completely oblivious to the world when she's using an app.
I woild definitely recommend Aero's CM9 build if you want a speedy rom with mostly everything working (720p recording doesn't work sadly)
But if you want an extremely stable ROM, then go for Tazz/Mac's IC Tazz ROM and have fun with the suckiness of the ROM. XD
I woukd also recommend Nit's UKB just because it's a treat and its packed with lots of Sense 4.0 goodies.

I need to update my wife's DInc 2 and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on a stable ROM. I don't have time to try a bunch out for her and am not familiar with the phone. she's not techy, so it needs to work, but stock is a little boring/laggy for her.

If you want stable but don't like stock, I would suggest cm7 (mrom) or the old gingerbread miui (though this may be harder to find unless someone still has it, try rom manager). Ics and jellybean can be iffy since we never got an official release and a proper kernel.

I have run this rom with and without the scripts, I don't see much if any difference. You don't have to use those if you don't want to. And you don't need an app to overclock, it has that in settings. But you can use that to undervolt and change I/o's. As phonetool stated, this rom runs really well on this phone. Give it a shot.

I had been using DKStunna's Global 10.1 JB ROM build 3 as my DD for a few months and it was mostly stable. It would lag out once in a while I was managing apps, but it was pretty fast with the built-in Nova Launcher. I got tired of not having a working camcorder and since DKStunna broke his Vivow and ceased development I decided to switch to ChillyBean's ParanoidAndroid/PAC 2.19 ROM. So far it's been awesome! It has "inverted" GAPPS, Facebook, and some other core system apps, which I'm not a fan of, but it's supposedly something you can change. I have a working camcorder again (after a few tweaks), which is what I was looking for. It looks like ChillyBean broke his Vivow also so I don't know how much more development he'll be able to do, which is very sad. Anyway, I highly recommend the latest ParanoidAndroid.

You don't have to change anything for the inverted gapps. Just flash the normal ones instead. Then you never have the inverted ones to begin with.
