All ics roms for vivow have some issues. The question is do you want sense or aosp?
UKB is probably the best sense rom out right now. Sense 4, android 4.0.3. Smooth, fast, excellent battery. Camera fcs a lot for some.
For aosp, you have Kangdemnation or an older version of PA. PA is moving on to JB, but I think version 1.9.5 is ics.
Most of the problems are camera related, but many have been fixed. BT is another area of concern/ongoing development. Sound issues, too.
Search through the threads for these issues before you ask a question. Most of these threads are quite large.

If you don't feel the need for Ice Cream Sandwich, I use Cyanogenmod 7.2 stable for my "old reliable" It's much faster than stock, better battery life, and everything works 100% for me. Just my 2 cents.
I'm pretty much a rookie myself, and wanted the most stable ics rom I could get. The UKB looked great, but I decided to try tazz's ic rom first. It sounds like it should be stable too. I just flashed it earlier today, so haven't had much time with it yet, but so far it looks great. It sucks as much as everyone in that thread promised.
In my experience, Tazz's ROM is probably the number one out there right now. Granted, you're stuck with Sense but there are some devs out there stripping Sense away from this ROM and another one. Everything works out of the box (including camera which is huge for me), but like I mentioned, you're stuck with Sense and I've personally moved to Paranoid Android 1.5a which has CM9 as a base. Works pretty great, although my ffc pictures often show up corrupt/glitchy/garbled. Now to make more posts so I can have the privilege of commenting about this bug...

If u r on cdma then use UKB X, if on gsm use IC Tazz. Both the roms are very gud. I faced bootloop in gsm with UKB X and V.
otherwise ukb is better.
So I guess this shows my noobness, I'm wanting to root my wife's incredible 2 and not sure if she has cdma or gsm. How do I know/find out?
What's your carrier
Is it Verizon? If it is then its cdma.

My wife is about as rookie as they get. I put her on IC-Tazz.

LOL yeah, that was an entertaining and informative thread!
I just stuck to the Aeroevan's CM9 07/12 build with v12 kernel (pretty outdated, but I don't use the phone anymore) and gave it to my mother. So far, she's loving it to the point where she's completely oblivious to the world when she's using an app.
I woild definitely recommend Aero's CM9 build if you want a speedy rom with mostly everything working (720p recording doesn't work sadly)
But if you want an extremely stable ROM, then go for Tazz/Mac's IC Tazz ROM and have fun with the suckiness of the ROM. XD
I woukd also recommend Nit's UKB just because it's a treat and its packed with lots of Sense 4.0 goodies.

I just got an Incredible 2 to replace my Nexus One (new job, new phone), and I'm trying to find a stable, updated and minimal ROM. I have been going through the DEV forum, and I see quite a few choices, but I don't see anything that's minimal. Something similar to this.
Thanks for any suggestions.
I might give Liquid Smooth a try- AOSP GB 2.3.7 built from source and very minimal. It's in ROM Manager too.
Im not a fan of rom manager, but I like most AOSP.

It looks like a nice ROM, but I don't think it's minimal. Are there any other suggestions? In the mean time, I'll just root my current phone and remove the bloatware.

Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk 2
Sense is heavier so AOSP roms will have better battery life. Sense has its widgets and camera. I don't know if it's better for CM7. 2 but I had multitouch issues with CM and MIUI and aerovan v. 7 kernel so that's the reason I switched. You should try it and see if you like it or not. Personally, I love MIUI but I can't live with the multitouch issues so I changed to SkyRaider Zeus

Sense 4.0 with GSM
Do you know a Sense 4.0 ROM for GSM?
I go back and forth between sense and CM7.2 Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Sense bluetooth works WAY better for me, but I like the customization of CM7 and the quickness.
Magnolia and Skyraider Zues have been my favorite sense roms and gotta give it up for Condemned's CM7 rom.

Your choices are the tweaked stocks that are buried in this forum by jmz and insink, or the cm9 project that modpunk has graciously started for the C. The most stable are obviously the stocks. But cm9 has such few bugs, it's possible to use as a daily driver.

Is it as fast and snappy'?
I miss the stock camera, the email layout, some gestures (txt to talk, Facebook integrated with contacts) and other lil' things here and there but that is about it.

I like both will use TouchWiz JB when need complete stock everything working 100% and then go to AOSP/AOKP when I want to have more fun with themes and such.
Yep I switched. I had been using all of the JB Leaks and had strangely poor performance but recently was able to attribute that to the "media server" taking up a disproportionate amount of CPU time and I was able to fix that. Everything's good.
I tried out the stock OTA and then switched right back. IMO nothing beats this stable CM 10.0 build.

Except having a camera that can save to SD card, ammirite!!!
Kidding aside, I switched back from CM to stock just a few days before the JB update and am glad I did. I've always used CM ROMs with previous phones, but this was the first time that there were simply too many things that should just work right that simply were not working right. The stock JB is definitely snappy, camera is great, GPS works instantaneously (was another gripe I was having with CM).

I have run this rom with and without the scripts, I don't see much if any difference. You don't have to use those if you don't want to. And you don't need an app to overclock, it has that in settings. But you can use that to undervolt and change I/o's. As phonetool stated, this rom runs really well on this phone. Give it a shot.

I had been using DKStunna's Global 10.1 JB ROM build 3 as my DD for a few months and it was mostly stable. It would lag out once in a while I was managing apps, but it was pretty fast with the built-in Nova Launcher. I got tired of not having a working camcorder and since DKStunna broke his Vivow and ceased development I decided to switch to ChillyBean's ParanoidAndroid/PAC 2.19 ROM. So far it's been awesome! It has "inverted" GAPPS, Facebook, and some other core system apps, which I'm not a fan of, but it's supposedly something you can change. I have a working camcorder again (after a few tweaks), which is what I was looking for. It looks like ChillyBean broke his Vivow also so I don't know how much more development he'll be able to do, which is very sad. Anyway, I highly recommend the latest ParanoidAndroid.

You don't have to change anything for the inverted gapps. Just flash the normal ones instead. Then you never have the inverted ones to begin with.
