Thanks

[Q]Android 2.2 and 2.2.1?

Recently I've tried a few ROMs, including the Cool Z ROM, the ReflexTSenseHD ROM and the Starburst Lite ROM. I've noticed that the Cool Z ROM and ReflexTSense ROM are all based on Android 2.2.1, while the Starburst Lite ROM is based on Android 2.2 FroYo.
For all 3 ROMs I flashed Richard Trip's kernel v5f, and set the frequency to 1190MHz on smartass scaling and run Quadrant benchmark.
The results showed a magnificent difference between Android 2.2.1 and 2.2. With Cool Z and ReflexTSenseHD the CPU score can sometimes be higher than the total score of Nexus One 2.2+ in Quadrant Advanced. However, when I run the benchmark with Android 2.2 in the Starburst ROM, it would be a miracle to see the CPU score higher than the CPU score of Nexus One 2.2+, although the frequency is set at 1190MHz.
There is another difference between the Starburst ROM and the other 2 ROMs, though. I did a Data2SD with Data2Whatever on the Starburst ROM(the one flasher given in Starburst didn't work for me), while I didn't do that on the two Android 2.2.1 ROMs.
So I'm wondering: Is there a difference between Android 2.2 and 2.2.1? If yes, what is it? Or is the difference simply caused by Data2SD?
It's simply because Data2SD. You would get the same results with other roms with Data2SD. But in most cases it won't be any faster then the ones with no Data2SD. It's a known thing that Quadrant would give you higher scores.
2.2 is the latest version of Android for the Desire, 2.2.1 is the latest for the Desire HD/Z - which Cool Z is based on

custom kernels for coredroid v3.3

Help me - choosing a ROM

Hello!
After some months I still can't find any ROM which meet my requirements.
Can you help me make a decision? What I would like to see:
- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), perchange Android 4.0 (ICS)
- HTC Sense
- Fully working camcoder app, recording in 720p, focus on digital camera and video recorder, no FC's...
- OC to ~1.8 GHz (1843 MHz), I found this setting stable for my phone
- Possiblity to remove any redundant apps like Facebook...
I tried:
- Android Revolution HD (OC OK, annoying camcoder problems...)
- Virtuous Sense (insufficient OC)
- Virtuous G-Lite (insufficient OC, no Sense)
- Virtuous Unity (insufficient OC)
- Virtuous Affinity (stability problems)
- ILWT (insufficient OC, no Sense)
- MIUI (insufficient OC, crappy camcoder)
- CM7 (insufficient OC, no Sense)
I'll be thankful.
if you like the rom but cant overclock to your hearts desire just change the kernel

Advise me then.
pick one of the roms you liked but didnt overclock as far as you wanted then flash a compatible kernel on top of it the same way you flashed your rom
kerenl for the most part go like this:
ics - ics kernel
gingerbread - gingerbread kernel
etc.
also....
sense - sense kernel
aosp (and most cm) - aosp kernel
find a kernel that works with the rom you like and overclock the way youd like
I'd searched "G2 and Desire Z Development" category and I can't find a kernel for Virtuous G-Lite (Sense is not as important for me as O/C and efficiency ). I'm just out of ideas...
well you often wont find a kernel specific to one rom. if the rom you like has a sense base use a sense kernel etc.

I can't get it. What if I want to find kernel for Virtuous G-Lite which doesn't have Sense? What to type in searcher?
glite is a 2.3.x rom aosp based, try one of these kernel

they should work fine for you
Try AOKP in tablet mode. Beautiful, everything works, and ICS. I'm running it for 3 days, and I didn't had any lags at all.

[Q] Overclock kernel??

Hello,
I have a htc one x rooted with ViperX 3.5 rom running Jelly Bean. Is it possible to install an overclock kernel on this configuration? And, if so, which kernel would work?
Try Kozmik v11. It's OC'ed up to 1624 Mhz.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138586
Or Alex-V_SE 0.6 up to 1600 Mhz.

Thank you so much. I´ve searched for days, and everything I found was incompatible. This made my day! by the way Kozmik v12 is OCed up to 1700 Mhz :good:
