Evo's serial port? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I noticed something what looks like a serial port in the hole for upper right clip of the back cover. Any idea what kind of connector/adaptor could I use for it to try? Anything similar on other phones? Thanks.

Ok. I may be the first one to notice.

[Q] Baby heartbeat moniter?

My wife is looking for an app that detects the unborn fetus's heartbeat. Unfortunately, we've not yet been able to find one. So my wife wanted me to post and ask everyone here if anyone knew of an app that works for this purpose. Thank you in advance...

You could try "instant heart rate" maybe? Instead of using finger use her belly.

With the EKG or acoustic sensors going where? Constantly connected to her stomach?

I wouldn't use the phone to do that. Who knows how much radiation really comes from our phone. I read a report stating guys can go sterile from keeping a phone in their front pocket. The report may have been hyped but I would play it safe unless its just for a second or two here and there

I never thought of the radiation thing, thanks fellow xda members.. she did mention that on a forum she goes on, someone mentioned that there's an app for the iphone that works. But not for her Evo.

Dock weirdness

All the sudden when I hit home it brings me to my dock/clock....I have no clue why but its really annoying. I also can't stop it from doing it. Anyone have any clue why it might be doing this? Or how to fix it

What launcher are you using?

If it's when it is in the dock, mine does that too. Not helpful, but at least shows that it's expected behaviour rather than a bug. Hopefully, someone will come along with some sort of fix.
Stock twiz. On calkiluns rom.

Dock mode won't shut off

So my phone looks like its in dock mode?!?!
The clock app displays/loads for no reason, even instead of lock screen. Every time I answer my phone, it answers it in speaker mode...
I'm running aokp m6, I even tried a restore from before this issue, but it still here.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have corrosion somewhere, possibly a port...those are pretty common symptoms of some type of minor liquid damage that we see come in

Like the usb port?
Any suggestions on cleaning it?
Thanks for your response/help!

Suggestion? Take it into one of our Service and Repair stores lol.
If you really want to try it yourself, you need denatured alcohol with very high alcohol concentration. We also finish up with a gold contact cleaner, but I don't know where to get that.

I think that one is done.

can someone show me how to calibrate S-pen in SGN2?

I utilize my S-pen for sketching purposes, though, somehow, the pointer seems to be off. Don't know what's wrong with it, if I need to calibrate or something else. Your opinion and guide line is helpful. Thanks in advance

Dial *#0*# and go to the wacom test, see if ur screen itslef isnt messed up.
If u wanna increase or decrease sensitivity, ur gonna have to take the clicky portion of your stylus off, the button u push to get trace effects or enter settings with. Theres potentiometers inside, turning clockwise decreases sensitivity and turning counter clockwise increases. Ive only read about it and havent done it myself, id post a link, but the info goes to another forum, a simple google search will give u more info.
Good luck and report back

You learn anew daily
Wow, thanks for the info, I may have to tinker with my son once I'm brave enough.. . lol
I found a solution to my own problem, initially, I was have tough time using spen during sketches and during other apps that uses spen; The problem was my hard cover case that has magnet to close, that magnet always came behind the screen as I opened my case while sketching or using spen.... You keep the magnet away from the screen and that's it... problem solved.
