Hey guys,
I'm hoping someone can help me out here because it's driving me insane. I have a rooted Desire and have previously bought several apps from the Market (Locale, Twidroyd, etc.). I have Titanium Backup, which I've been using to back up my apps and settings (only for downloaded apps, not for any system apps).
I recently decided to try out a MIUI ROM and after having a play about with it, I decided to go back to a Sense-based ROM (LeeDroid 2.2f if that's relevant). I used Titanium Backup to restore my apps but have found that my paid-for apps from the Market are no longer authorized. If I uninstall them I'm finding that I have to re-purchase the apps rather than being able to re-download them as I cold previously.
I'm using exactly the same Google account as before and I've already tried clearing the Market app's data and cache in the Settings app.
I'm at a total loss as to why the apps can't be authorised! Any ideas about what else I can try?
In Titanium,
Long press the app, and when the menu selection comes out, press "attach it to market"... or something to that extent. I can't remember the exact name for the option.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The apps were all already attached to the Market correctly. Unattaching them and reattaching them in Titanium didn't seem to make a difference.
I've tried wiping data/cache and reflashing the ROM but no luck there either. I've also tried going in to the Market and going to the page for Locale straight after configuring my Google account, before restoring the backup in Titanium but it still says that I have to purchase the app
Ok have managed to find a solution, but it's a bit convoluted. I use 3 Google accounts in total on my phone: 2 x Google Apps accounts and 1 x Gmail account.
The Market only supports Gmail accounts for buying paid apps; if you access the Market using a Google Apps account and attempt to purchase something, you are prompted to add a Gmail account and the purchase is made against that account. Due to the purchases being made against my Gmail account, it was this account that I was entering first after doing the factory reset and then going into the Market to accept the T&C's.
However, it appears that if you initially entered a Google Apps account when you first got the phone, you have to keep entering this account first after factory resets, even though the purchases are made against a different account! Clear as mud, right?
Oh boy, that is a doozy.
Wouldn't it be better to streamline your accounts?
Hehehe yeah I guess so I'd rather just have the 2 Google Apps accounts (one is for work, the other is personal)
Anyone know how to solve this? Sent my phone to HTC to get repaired. Got it back, logged into gmail iva the phone and only one of my apps is being restored. Only "mybackup" comes up as restored. Nothing else is showing.
I have my apps backed up on mybackup as well as my data but why isn't gmail doing it?
If i restore apps via "mybackup" then they do not show up in the market so i don't want to do it that way. Is there anything else i can do? I logged into the android market via my laptop and it had a list of about 15 of the apps i had but not even close to all of them.
Any advice appreciated. I thought this would be a simple process but evidently it doesn't seem like it.
Edit: Just been back to the a android website via my laptop and none of my apps are listed there anymore. Only the one that restored itself and the stock apps... Great. So i'm screwed now i take it?
I'm not sure about reinstalling from market. As far as I remember it didn't worked well for me either. If you have rooted phone you can use Titanium backup which will backup not only apps but the data too. So, if you set high score in a game or you set up some app to your preferances you will have them all back.
To backup up only apps for later reinstalling I use Astro file manager : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro. With Astro you can backup all your apps for later installing after performing factory reset.
I already backed my apps using Astro and mybackup, however im pissed off that googles own inbuilt system won't restore my apps despite suggesting that it would. Plus anything i restore with Astro and mybackup will not show up in the market. Haven't got a choice now i guess.
They also ruined my contacts backup as well while we are at it. I saved my contacts to gmail a few weeks back, came back today and none of them are my contacts, they are however, half of the people i follow on twitter. Neither gmail or twitter are linked to each other so how the hell did gmail manage to get into my twitter account and then replace my saved contacts list with people i follow on twitter. What farce this all is.
I have that backed up in 2/3 places thankfully but what kind of service is this from google? Its worked fine in the past but the one time i need it, everything goes wrong.
I have this issue that is highly annoying. This has been going on for a while. I can not see any of my apps in the market. Here is a list of what I tried.
1. celared market cache and data
2. rebooted recovery and cleared cache and delivik cache.
3. re-flashed rom
Help!!!!
I have the same issue. I have tried all the things you mentioned, and I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the market, and using TB to destroy and fix all my market links. I have searched for a solution to this, but it seems to me that no one has found a reliable solution.
I use AppBrain as a workaround.

Well at least I know I am not the only one.
I called Market support, and the guy I talked to said that he had to forward it to the developers, so we will see what they say.
http://support.google.com/androidmarket/bin/request.py
EDIT: I forgot to mention, but the guy I talked to also sent me an email with a market link to every app I've ever purchased from the Android Market.
very common issue right now. ive done EVERYTHING i can think of. clear cache, uninstall market, reinstall, wipe market links, rebuild market links, flash same rom, flash different roms, factory data reset, and RTN with my MSL. nothing works. and i dont know anyone else in my family/friends/coworkers that is having the problem. when i googled it, i found dozens of other phone types that have this same problem, some as far back as september.
PRO TIP: use aTrackDog to check for updates and make a list of on device apps.
Reboot
After I reboot my phone the apks appear in my gallery.
I have noticed that when the market updates (when you accept the agreement...again) and you have multiple google accounts linked on your phone, it sometimes changes the default account you had it set as. You need to then select menu -> accounts and choose which account is the default you made the market purchase with.
I'm sure this post is for a completely different issue, but just wanted to post this to weed out some unneeded frustrations.

I really wish it was that easy. I only have one market account.
I had this problem too and the only way I could fix it was not restoring my apps with Titanium Backup after installing a new ROM. I've heard other people remedied the problem this way too.
This problem started for me after I did the "Destroy all Market links" feature trying to fix the update lag on some of my apps. The problem kept happening after using "Market Doctor" and even installing a new ROM and running "Restore missing apps with (and with out) data".
My issue being resolved may have been a fluke, maybe someone else could confirm?

i know what youre talking about. i have done exactly this, but it did not work for me... but im glad it worked for you! lol
"Destroy all market links" is essentially the issue that you guys are having. I have ran into the same problem. Open titanium backup, hit "menu", "market tools" then "market doctor"
That should fix the problem. It has for me every time.
uhm i have this happen sometimes. and usually its because of having multiple google accounts. Are you sure ur markets on the correct account?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have done this multiple times.
It occurs even after I wipe, flash a new ROM, and don't even mess with TB. Makes me think it has something to do with the market account itself.
I'm really getting frustrated about this. I can flash back to stock and it still does this to my phone. I only have one google account signed. Really this is surprising that more people don't have this issue. I hope it gets fixed someday because it's ruining my experience with my phone. My other phone (htc thunderbolt) has no issues.

Another issue that I've found is that I think some apps aren't compatible with 2.3.6 or or something about these roms because some apps seem to disappear sometimes for no reason. I don't know, I'm blaming it on the market, the app developers and fragmentation.. lol
I too have this same issue, single email account, various roms running
Yup, same issue for me. I have 1 account, tried every possible option in Titanium Backup and Market (uninstall/reinstall, clear data, destroy links, flash back to stock, etc).

Strange thing is that I do not have this issue on my SPH-D700 Epic 4G.
Again, I think it's an issue with Google/Market. Somehow the data linked to my SPH-D710/EpicTouch in Market is corrupt and causing issues.
I did notice that this issue first started after I tried purchasing Read It Later Pro. Market shows that the app was PURCHASED and ready to INSTALL but the transaction never went through. This is when my trouble started. Like I said, so far no acknowledgement or help from Google about the issue.

I'm noticing that the carrier field in my Market Account -> Settings is blank (it should say "Sprint".

Anyone else have the same?
Mine says Sprint and mine doesn't work.

I may have stumbled on a fix in my case. I was debloating my apps, and I removed the Market Feedback Agent using Titanium Backup and my apps now show up. YMMV.
Rebooted into recovery and wiped cache and dalvik as well.

I've only started purchasing apps regularly in the last month or two. I'm also a crackflasher.
I've now noticed that not all purchased apps get backed up via the Android .ab backup system. It's not all of them but most of them.
For example; Granny Smith backs up fine but Cthulhu Saves the World or GTA3 doesn't. Filepush does but Lapse It doesn't.
I'm running CM10 going between CM10 builds most of the time. Is there something I'm missing about this process or am I just going to have to get used to Titanium Backup backing every app I can think of (sorta annoying in comparison to one big restore file over USB)
I'm still having this issue, can anyone shed any light on this?
I just find it really strange that some paid apps get backed up and some don't.
EDIT: I've used both Galaxy Nexus Toolkit and Nexus Root Toolkit, both giving the same result.
It's not just paid apps. Google Authenticator doesn't get backed up either.
Hi all! I tried doing my due diligence to search for this problem on Google and this forum but didn't come up with anything.
I've got a VZW Galaxy Nexus running 4.1.1. I had to get a replacement from Verzion because my old GNex stopped vibrating.
Knowing that Android doesn't backup all of your app data in the cloud I did a adb backup from my computer. Then started up the replacement and did a restore. Most things came back just like before. However, third party apps can't get the current location anymore. System apps like Maps and Google Now get the location just fine. But other apps like Foursquare and Weatherbug can only get the last known location.
I've tried reinstalling apps, clearing the cache and app data but it didn't fix it.
Does anybody know how to fix the location not being able to be accessed by apps after a backup restore?
Thanks!

I just did a reboot and it fixed it. (Hanging my head in shame for not doing this sooner).
