I've recently noticed that youtube videos only work for me when using 3G. Apparently stock youtube app uses normal quality on 3g and high quality videos on wifi by default. Unfortunately our devices can only play normal quality video, so is there any workaround to force normal quality video while using wifi?

Juddery ? I'm assuming you mean jittery or stuttering.

i had some lag with 720P and had to reboot the phone it worked good fore a few mins then did it again. i havent tried 1080p but i assume it would do the same since its even more higher def.
ZERO stuttering or pausing on the current CyanogenMod 10.1 build. Just tested it with YouTube.
Can not comment on stock software as I never tried it.
Every time I try to play video that was recorded using the Nexus 7, it either plays sideways or upside down in mxplayer. Regular videos or movies that are transferred over play fine. Its only the videos that are recorded using any camera/video app or even the default camera app as well.
I have tried confirmed the screen rotation is on auto rotation and even checked all the options numerous times to see if something was conflicting. Did a default reset of the app settings. Even reinstalled it completely, but issue still remains.
Again, what I am doing is trying to play videos that are recorded by the device from the default gallery app. Playing the videos using the video players work fine, its mxplayer that is giving me issues.
Any suggestions?
I'm using 4.3 stock rom and rooted. When I play a flash video while using dolphin browser the video plays in high quality perfect video when on wifi but when I watch the same video with wifi off it plays at a lower quality blotchy video. I have 4g LTE and when I run a speed test its over 20mbps down and 6mbps up. Its like it defaults to lower quality when im not on wifi but my 4g LTE is faster than my wifi

I also noticed when I watch a youtube video (with the youtube app) if I watch it in HD it stops and goes but if I watch it with wifi on its smooth. Same thing goes with the NHL Gamecenter app. The games are only watchable in the lower resolution with 4g LTE but with wifi its ok. So it seems like its not a flash problem, something else....
I have been having this problem on a few video playback apps. While watching a video the video freezes but the sound continues to play. fast forwarding gets it going again but happens again soon after. its mainly on apps thay stream videk. tested on both lte and wifi

No problems here. I also have flash player archived version installed for playing online video through the web browser: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk.
Do you have GPU 2D Rendering Checked in Developer Options? If so, uncheck that because it causes video choppiness. Other than that, not sure what to tell you except factory reset your device.
Every time I watch a video on YouTube the video plays in 144p quality. I have to manually select which quality I want which is usually 720p each time and for every video I watch. Auto does nothing but play in 144p. Mobile data or Wifi same thing.
This is a problem I'm just noticing. In the past it would always play in 720p if I selected that and that quality would stick. Maybe it's the YouTube app?
Anyone have any idea what's causing this and what I can do if anything? Thanks

Youtube selects the resolution based on connection speed.
I have 50+ dl speed on my WiFi. It still starts the video at 144p. If I select 1080p or 1440p quality the video plays just fine...No buffering or anything. The thing is I don't like having to select the quality for every video I watch cause sometimes I watch alot of different videos

My youtube app plays fine (720p), even on 3G. Strange. Uninstall and install it again.
