ok ive been trying to use and understand the app, app brain lately. i have a feeling its most likely user error. but from my understanding one of the main uses of this app is it syncs your apps so when you reset/wipe your phone, you re d/l app brain and it lists all your synced apps for easy download. well everytime right before i wipe, i click sync on app brain, wipe the phone and it lists no apps, or maybe 1 or 2 (outta around 15ish) is it something im doing wrong?
It's been working fine for me lately, but I used to make a backup list online. Basically, sync, then go online and select all apps and copy them to a new list. Then wipe your phone, install the app and set up sync. If you are missing apps again, go to your computer, copy all the apps from the list to your installed list and sync again. Works like a charm.

All of the sudden the other day I went to check the status of my apps in the market and to see if any needed to be updated and a strange screen appeared. It has my email address, which is the linked account, and underneath it says "Applications and games owned by this account will appear here." Underneath it has two buttons that say "Browse Apps" and "Browse Games". I've reinstalled the market apk and also reinstalled my current ROM. No luck with anything. Anyone have any ideas?
Hmmm maybe a bump will let people see this?
I know the market got another update to where you could have multiple accounts on the market maybe that had something to do with it.
Try to clear data and uninstall any updates through app manager.

Tried all of that and nothing. Hell, I even tried restoring a recent known good backup and the market still tanks on me. I've googled this and it seems a few others are having the same problem with no luck. We shall see.
*edit*
I just wiped and installed a DIFFERENT ROM and i'm still having the same issue. It starts out fine and then, poof, its back. I'm gonna reinstall again now and try reloading my TB backups one at a time instead of a batch restore. Maybe its a corrupt backup that making my Market wonky? I'm at a loss.
Hello,
I recently installed the newest rom on my phone, and it is fantastic, however I'm having an issue installing the google music app (so I can stream from the google servers).
I keep getting the error
"Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again."
I don't have any other versions of google music in the application list in settings, or titanium backup. I also checked the /system/app folder and the google app isn't there from what I can tell.
I tried manually removing the "music" app (which was musicplayer.apk) but that didn't help either.
I've cleared all market data.
Did anyone else have this issue or know a solution? This is a must have app for me, and I really like this fast rom and want to keep it.
Thanks,
Austin
I think the really amazing thing would be to see the Google Music app actually work correctly on our phones in the first place.
I've tried it, on several different roms, and it always has the same problem.
I use it strictly for my local mp3 collection. I set it to shuffle, let it play, turn off the screen (or let it time out, whatever works), and after that song plays, the player stops. If I turn the screen on again, it starts playing the next song, but this is far from correct behavior.
So, I don't know if there's an app that will let you play your Google cloud-based music that isn't the official Music app, but if there is, I'd use that instead.
Sorry, that's just my two cents. I know it's not really helpful.
You might check to see if there is an associated .so file in /system/lib, but that starts to get into dangerous territory.
Hmm... I've got the same rom on my phone and it's working fine. Have you tried finding an apk and installing directly from it? Might be something else going on.
What

I actually just backed everything with titanium backup then wiped everything then reinstalled and I have the app now. I think the app was originally there just not in the applications list. I didn't see it in the apps folder when I looked with root explorer. Thanks for the replies though.
I like to try out new roms, but I hate going back through the play store and picking which apps to download again. Sometimes it seems like 'some' apps will reinstall on their own when I am setting up the phone/tablet and put in my google log in info, but it also seems very random. For instance, right now, how would I get my phone to automatically download every app that is on it after I install a new rom?

I'm not sure, that seems to be a hit and miss for me. For tw 4.1.1+ roms, it usually never redownloads my apps upon logging into my google account. On roms with 4.2+, (usually aosp) They usually seemed to always download by themselves. It might be a 4.2 feature, I'm not exactly sure. It just hits and misses a lot.

I don't think we're taking about the same thing. I mean for the apps I have downloaded using Google play to automatically download to the phone out tablet when I install a new Rom.

U will have to use Titanium Backup Pro app to restore ur apps + data (do not restore system data) after u flash a new Rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
I don't think you.need a third party app to do this. Like I said before it happens on some installs and not all.

The only other way i can't think of is using ur Google account. There is an option in the Sync settings of google on ur phone to Sync app data. And even when first flashing new firmware there is an option that comes up after the install and boot of the firmware that asks if u want to use google to restore ur apps etc.
Other than that, idk.

So I am coming from iOs and so far rooted my S3 and loaded CM 10.2; I love it!
I need help with one thing however. I really liked how the iPhone would automatically backup your entire phone in the cloud as soon as it was pluggd in to a charger AND connected to wifi. It would do this automatically.
Is there such a thing for Android? I understand I will probably need an app like Titanium Backup?
I due have a dropbox account so I can use that for my cloud... I currently have dropbox automatically syncing my camera photos. But I would like something that will also save all of my apps, app data, notes etc... And do it automatically when plugged in and connected to wifi. I'm not sure if Titanium Backup does this.
Can someone make a recommendation?
Your Google account will backup many apps, and your photos automatically. For the rest, you need something like titanium backup

You can do a NANDROID backup through clockworkmod. Shut off your phone. Enter recovery by holding volume up, power, and the home button.
From there you can back up your system and save it to your SD card. You only need to do this twice: before and after every successful ROM installation. (A NANDROID is just a system backup)
You can use Titanium backup to save you app data. It will save it to your SD card. Do this once every week or so.
Your contacts are saved with Google or on your simcard.
Texts and call log can be saved on special apps, I can't name one because my security and anti-theft app does it for me (Avast)
Manually save /sdcard0/android/ into a zip file. ( This holds some data, such as temple run stats or other things. ) Do this every other week.
I'm not sure about pictures, you can zip them up and upload them yourself.
You can use Easy Unrar to zip files to save space and upload.
ZIP the Titanium backups , pictures, and other things, and upload them to your computer through a USB cable or to your dropbox or Google drive.
You can make this all automatic (except nandroid), but some apps will cost money to add in a scheduled backup.
When I'm signed into my google account online and go to the playstore, it shows that certain apps are installed on my device. This is not accurate though.
Is there a way to delete all apps that I've ever installed from my account? I don't mind if I have to start over, thought I rather now create a new gmail account.
Any thoughts on this as I'm pretty puzzled.
And any old phone that I owned I factory reset before I sold.
Thank you

Check which apps are shown as installed but not on your app drawer. This is most likely you have disabled (frozen) the app. Go to your application manager and see if they are there or not.
You can remove all apps, but I don't think there's a 1-click way to do it. You can either uninstall them 1 by 1 or start from scratch (factory reset) and uncheck backup/restore in settings.
Thanks for the tip. This still doesn't help. What I did was go into my Play Store, delete every app that was just sitting there, apps that I had previously downloaded before on previous phones. I then restarted my phone, go back into the app store on a computer that I never downloaded anything on and it still shows that these apps are installed on my device, without the option to uninstall on the web on the computer.
I'd like to think I'm tech savvy but this one has me scratching my head.
well playstore does not have a feature to remove it from your account directly.
cnet had an article on it and it should have updated after you deleted the history of those apps . unless google changed something again.

Yeah that method no longer works.
