A search is probably how he found the forum in the first place albeit Google...
Please realize that a person with 1 post does not have an instruction booklet to this site you have posted over 1200 times and I sure at lest one of them could have been better placed or asked and already answered question.
Knowing where to post only comes with time and use of these boards.... the OP didn't injury anyone with his question, did he?

I would agree with you if there wasn't a nice big search button at the top of the page.

First Off, im not sure if this should be in Q&A or android development. But, here i go..
I have seen alot lately about the leaked ota update, and all these fancy 2.2 leaks, which apparently requires a radio flash of some kind. Now before i do this, i have some questions..
If i do this, will i be able to use old nandroid backups of 2.1? and if i am rooted, how do i go about flashing the leaked ota? Im asking because im hearing alot of posts of people bricking phones.
Also, if i ignore this update, and theoretically a 2.2 update is released tommorow, will i be able to just update rooted? im sure i would lose root but could i do it? or do i really need to use PB31IMG and restore my phone?
Thanks for the reply.
Gentle warning, due to admitted OP confusion. Good rule: if you really have to start a thread, when in doubt choose General or Q&A (if one is available). Thanks

it should be in Q&A.
Unfortunately, Incredible has no Q&A section yet so General is used for that. For now.
Ok, ill keep that in mind. I take it the thread has been moved. but anyway, anyone have any input on the whole radio update dillema?
If a new OTA is released and the radio is slightly different you'd need to RUU. I am not sure how the OTA prompt would go and what would happen if you tried to apply the ota BUT I know you can always RUU down and flash the newest OTA after SU busybox etc is added with no problems.
So basically, theres no way im upgrading the radio unless i RUU and apply the ota. Alright. Guess Ill wait for an official OTA. but will a 2.2 rom break unrEVOked 3.1?

No one knows because the official update is not out. No one knows if the radio will be different than the leaked one, or if the hole used to root is plugged. The people who do know (HTC/Verizon), don't appear to be on this forum.
I searched for this problem and it seems DHD and Wildfire S have this problem too.
I updated my desire to 2.3 with official Ruu from developer.HTC.com and I can't root with unrevoked 3.... The solution for DHD and WS was downgrading , but I didn't see any tutorial for Desire downgrading from 2.3 to 2.2

Entschuldigung.
I didn't see it really. Mods delete this thread and ban me
that's because there isn't one and if you actually BOTHERED to look, you would find AT LEAST 7-10 different posts about pretty much the same issue. Stop spamming with this sh*t!!!!
It is annoying to see so many threads made on this topic.. but wouldnt it help if one is stickied somewhere to give those blind bats a chance of spotting it?

Good idea, however, won't work. We had it stickied in the HTC Inc forum once upon a time. A 2.2 OTA update (I believe it was 2.2.1 at the time) came out, and blocked the exploit that Unrevoked used to get root. This was then followed by at least ONE full page of "Why can't I get root?! You OWE this to me!! What the F is taking sooo long!" threads...
In that instance, obviously no one knew that the update would block the root exploit. So it took a long, grueling, five days for Unrevoked to update/test/release their product.
This then got us right back to the threads of "Help me I bricked my device and I don't know what I am doing HELP!" threads, back to normal I guess.
Is there any way to ROOT official 2.3.3 updated HTC Desire?
Holy cr*p, asked and answered a thousand times... so stupid.... when will people understand that this button isn't a design element and can be used:

i know that, some tutors maybe?
Connect me via a remote desktop and I'll do it for you.
Seriously, as MatDrOiD said, this question isasked everyday...... and twice.
All you need to know - is on the Revolutionary.io's page. My friend without proper knowledge about Android modifications was able to do it from the information on the site, then you'll be able, too.

Just wondering if there will be aosp roms for the g3 soon. I assume there will be be at some point. I am sure cm is working on something for our phone. Don't know if this has already been discussed so please forgive me if it has and mods its okay to delete this thread if need be.
Until the bootloader is unlocked, and we have a proper recovery, it won't matter really anyway, I mean I hope they are, that way whenever those things do happen, we can just flash and go

It has been. A lot. Next time, search.
This is a question. It belongs in Q&A NOT Dev. Read rules again.

After 93 posts, the OP should know better than to post this dribbling nonsense in a development sub-forum.
Mods, please kill this with fire!

Someone is working on it. Stuck at loop right now. His be released for the T-Mobile version. Check in the G3 General section for more info.
i hope for good works
Basically, only realistic for the T-Mobile G3 atm until there is an exploit discovered to access/unlock the bootloader. Even the G2 bootloader has never been unlocked I was told but they found some exploit fortunately.
I've been waiting for unlock too. Seems like we're not getting any AOSP based ROM until bootloader unlocked. I know T-Mobile G3 has unlocked bootloader.
for international version ?

Absolutely!
Seriously, to the OP, if you think your issue/questions is important enough to start a thread (and you should search and think carefully before doing so), then post the solution (if you solved it) so others can read it. Deleting the entire first post is virtually never the right thing to do.
I'd report the thread to be deleted, but its actually become worthwhile for amusement value!

Yeah, I actually tried to delete the thread when I found out that my problem was completely retarded. I was doing an RUU update by placing an update zip file on the exsternal SD card. So the update went fine, but whenever i tried rebooting to recovery the phone would try to do the update again, untill I finally deleted the update zip from my external SD. So yeah. Now this will stand to shame me for all eternity.

I don't think the original mistake was all that bad. But deleting the content of the first post, is another story. Just don't do it next time!
If you ask me, there are no stupid questions (and others can always learn from your mistakes). Except for maybe the ones that have been asked and answered a hundred times already (which yours isn't) like "how do I root?"
