namaste to all my xda friends over here.. m just sharing ths app created by dami apps.. it works like wifi direct and has the best ui (u dont need to put ur wifi ip address or receivers wifi ip address in it)
Special features or say benifits of ths app:-
1) it does not need actual wifi data connection.. jus two phones connected to each oder by wifi hotspot tethring is enough.. thus saving ur precious data plans.
2) u can also share files to ur laptop or pc if u dont have data cable via wifi connection (no data charges here also , simply connect and transfer )
3)transfer files with the speed of around 6-8mbps (as tested on my ace) ..so big files which takes time to get transfered via bluetooth can b send by ths app..
4) runs on any rom.. and can transfer any sort of files with watever size..
Thumbs up to the developer:thumbup:. i m just sharing their work.. all credit goes to dami app team..

Found a solution to tmobiles user agent sniffer .
**Must be rooted for this to work * *
Steps:
1. Get TrevE Mod tether app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34037922
(you will not get a internet connection using any other tether app while using the VPN app)
2. Get Hotspot Shield VPN
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...id.vpn&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
(was mentioned in earlier post but couldn't get it to work)
3. Start Hotspot Shield VPN and connect
4. Start TrevE Mod Tether app
Problems?
Hotspot Shield does not connect or you get error 1028?
Get Tun.Ko from market and install it
Repeat step 3 and 4
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hZWQudHVuLmluc3RhbGxlciJd
Connected device does not receive internet?
In TrevE Mod tether app go to settings and select Device profile and select Generic ICS/JB wanl0 . Now select setup and select Netd-Ndc master . Check box that says send Nets Max client . Check box WiFi-Reloads driver 2 . Check Routing fix .You may need to change ssid too .
I am using Chrome with no user agent switcher and no longer get errors when trying to play youtube videos

Why would you need to keep the screen on . Are you using the tether app posted in step 1 ?
When my phone sleeps so does the tethering app..
I do have battery defender installed but not active maybe that could be a problem. I would think if not active it wouldn't interfere maybe I am wrong

T-Mobile can still tell you're tethering via user agent . It's only a matter of time before you get the text or have to use a user agent switcher. If you use the VPN your data is encrypted and tmobile can't snoop through your data .

So what if you set up a VPN through an NAS or router on your home network, and used the vpn software built into the phone. The S3 comes with two built in vpn clients, the native android vpn client, and the Authentec one in the app drawer pre installed by samsung. (does anyone have any opinion on differentiation between the two by the way)
I would test this myself right now, but havent set up the VPN capabilities of my home NAS, and wont be home for several days. But am really curious about this now.
I have in the past used a VPN through my old work work to netflix and hbogo and use my Play Music acount abroad, so I have high hopes for this idea.
Someone please test. I'm dying to know. I'll play and post when I get back.

Any tips on what settings you messed with? I'm having the same problems.
I have seen many posts regarding the tethering and hotspot on T-mobile, as it is only available on the data plans that are not unlimited. T-mobile blocks most tethering and hotspot apps but there are some ways to get around this. Most ways to avoid purchasing the tethering plan require root. However, this one does not. After a lot of searching I finally found a solution. The only con of this is that it does not support hotspot, only USB tethering. It is compatible with Mac OS, Windows OS, and Ubuntu OS. I am still searching for an update that will allow this to work with Chrome OS as I just purchased a Google Chromebook. This is a great feature while you are on the go, or do not have an internet connection at home.
The first step to the process is to download the Android app from the google Play Store. It is called ClockworkMod Tether. The app is free for 14 days. Once the 14 days is up, you will be able to purchase the full edition for $4.99. The upgrade is in app only, so you must download the free version first. Why wouldn't you anyways?
Once you have downloaded the app, as you will notice when you open it, you will need to download the app for your computer. It will ask you to open the app on your computer to get started. There is an app as well as a driver that is needed for this. In order to get the driver, you will need to visit clockworkmod.com. You can visit the site from your computer or your phone, which is convenient if you don't already have internet access. You will then need to click tether drivers at the top of the screen. It will take you to a list of makes of phones such as Motorola, Samsung, etc. Obviously, being the Samsung Galaxy s III, you are going to click the samsung drivers link. After it is downloaded, if you are using your computer, simply open the file and install it. If you have downloaded it to your SIII, you will need to connect your phone to your computer, find the file in the folder clockworkmod, and install it.
After everything is installed, you can open the app in your phone and turn on the tethering. After you have done this, open the program (which should also be installes from the clockworkmod folder) and click start. It will configure and it should say connected after a few seconds. Then, open your browser and you should be online!
I just discovered this and so far it is working GREAT! I got booted off once, not really sure what happened. But I turned off the tethering through the app first, then through the computer and restarted it all again and all is good. Hope this helps everyone looking for the answer! I will post again when I discover a way to use hotspot for free with no root.

Man that hot spot shield app worked like a charm
As you all know there is no WiFi Direct option available in Xperia S, so I found an alternative to it which is an app called Super Beam which gives the same speed as WiFi Direct and is actually a lot simpler to use than WiFi Direct!
If WiFi Direct is not available, it uses the phone's hotspot to create a WiFi network to which the other device connects for receiving files.
But the best part is how simple and fast it is to use. I sent a file around 400mb in about 5 mins! Bluetooth is nowhere near to that!
There is also no need for pairing devices like WiFi Direct, the app does all this by itself using QR Codes.
Only disadvantage is that both phones need to have the app installed.
I really recommend this to all Xperia S users, since we do not have WiFi Direct option in our phones.

Yes all those apps are good too. And there are many more apps on the Play Store that give this functionality, but the reason I chose this one was because of its simplicity. You don't want to go through a whole lot of steps every time just to send a file, it should be quick and simple.
So easy... Thank's a lot for information.

I am currently running jedi 14 tmo version well I am being blocked from using mobile hotspot. Is there a guaranteed work around? Or app? I have unlimited data but I dont have tethering on my plan. If I switch to a non tmobile rom like jedi x14 would that help? Would I still have access to 4g and lte? Thanks to anyone and everyone that can assist.
Update: I installed treve mod and switched some settings, as well as I installed hotspot vpn sheild from the play store. The only sure fire way is vpn / tunneling to prevent them from seeing where your data is being used. Look up sshtunnel app on the market and set up an ssh server at home. Costs absolutely nothing, and very effective. Tmobile can still see what you are doing when you change a user agent change. If on a windows pc tethering, you just need puttyssh and set up whatever browser to use a proxy. Ssh tunnels basically create a socks proxy to connect through, and offer rsa encryption of all data.

Unfortunately its not that easy as I dont think the PS3 has either ssh or vpn capabilities. It is possible using another computer to act as a proxied gateway ( With all of its ports redirected through the tunnel ) , but, its not easily explained.
Just googled and found this.
https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/knowledge-base/other-systems/ps3-proxy.html
Similar setup but with using your own server and software rather than theirs
You still need a server running somewhere remotely that you can pipe your connection through.

Great input Pyraxiate. I'm doing my homework today since I'm not a vpn expert by any stretch of the imagination. Just to clarify you mentioned settting up the "server at home" which seems backwards to me since it is the incoming internet service of T-mobile which I am trying to tether to. so wouldn't the server be my GN II celly and the client be My PC?
Help me understand if you have the time.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated in advance.
