I downloaded the early version of Froyo for the Evo. My question is can I still apply official OTA update on August 3rd over the version I downloaded early?

Stupid noob question but if I install cm6 on my g2 and an ota update comes out how will I get it??

Nope, you will not. Chances are whatever the update has, CM will either already have it or will incorporate it in one of their own updates.
what is this update that Sprint just released ? Can I get it elsewhere ? And if I do get it will I have o wipe out everything ?
Rooted Evo via UnrEVOked 3 with stock Rom Froyo 2.2 .

Its just a maintenance release, it tweaks some things, upgrades your radios, upgrades the kernel, and adds a few new programs. If you want this update, search the forums for the latest sprint ruu and flash it...if i were you, i wouldnt bother with it, u wont notice anything. You won't see gingerbread till sometime early 2011

What version did it say the update was? I bet it was for the update from 4.22 to 4.24
More than likely its the maintenance update for Netflix and some other things that were botched on the first release

Yeah I agree. Weird how it just pushed for it now, it's been out for over a month.
I still haven't been pushed this update...

The custom ROMs themselves will be updated to the latest Android releases as they come out.

If you mean OTA (Over The Air) updates then no you will not. In order for OTA update to install you need the stock recovery, not Clockwork.
However once the updates are released the developer of the Rom you are using will update also and you can then flash the latest version.
I apologize if this has been asked before.. I looked for it and couldn't find it.
I'm on 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on my S4, and I'm trying to get to the update containing "ALJ1" in the baseband version.
Question is, if I install the 370mb update being offered, will I fully update to the latest version, or will I update incrementally, as in updating to the next version, then needing to download and install the next update and so on?
Thanks.
