Read before buying Tmobiles Gel Case.

So I did a little research last night on the Gel Case Tmoblie is selling for the price of $18 around here in NYC. While they were all out of black (at least the ones I checked) I hit the good ol' Internets and found something surprising.
Amazon carries the same exact case for $10 in a plethora of colors that Tmobile does not offer.
The companies name is "Amzer". A person posted pictures of the case on amazon and it indeed confirmed it for me. It has the same look and feel (yah I know I did not touch it but it looked like it did.) as the Tmobile branded version.
I saw in the T-Mobile gel skin (Black) thread Aeson asked about the manufacturer. So here is your answer.
Indeed these are Amzer rebranded cases for $10 a pop at amazon.

Yea I saw that but I thought I would provide the info just in case (no pun intended) wanted different colors because I saw a lot of people asking for different colors like white. I myself would love a white one. Also They have been pretty difficult to find over here especially the black one but I do understand where you are coming from. I will buy a black on from tmobile and a white one from Amazon.

Yah I don't know if those are final or pre production images but if not than that case is a total fail! It's very ugly too I hate how it covers the ear piece part.

I just ordered it yesterday. Since t-mo stores are all out of stock. Hopefully they ship soon or before 8/3 or else would suck.

I bought a black gel skin from T-Mobile and it's actually really nice. A LOT better than the blue gel skin I got for my myTouch 3G at launch. I got the last one at a T-Mobile store 20 minutes away from me (my local one ran out) and I was at another store yesterday and it looked like they just got a new shipment of them cause they had about 5 blacks and one light blue, which was kind of nice, but I preferred the black, so it looks like they're getting more colors in eventually.

Can anyone confirm that Amazon is actually shipping these, in spite of the "Usually ships within 1 to 3 months" statement? I'd really prefer to order a few things from Amazon together w/ free shipping instead of different vendors.

Between my wife and I we just ordered 4 different cases from Amzer. Originally saw them on Amazon but was turned off by the 1-3 month comment. Amzer says that they will be shipping on the 3rd and the price was the same so I just went with them.

How can you say this? They clearly are NOT the same case.... I love the one I picked up from T Mobile~

Nearly all of T-Mobile's accessories are re-branded versions of some 3rd-party accessory. T-Mobile just sells them for a lot more money.

I just noticed that amzer and amazon have both changed their pictures of these cases. The pictures that were posted when I ordered the cases last weekend looked identical to the tmobile case. The pictures that are posted now do not. This should be interesting to see what actually shows up on my doorstep.

Yea I noticed that as well so I added a disclaimer to the OP. So no one goes raging at me threatening to kill me lol.

I highly recommend NOT getting the Amzer case. I as well was duped. I ordered the white one last week got it in yesterday and I do not like it at all. The volume buttons seem slightly easier to push but the power button is not. It is very loose on the phone, like ridiculously loose. T-Mobile one is alot better.

I got the gray Amzer case today and I am satisfied with it. I mean for $10 its a good temporary case. It's not THAT loose. It does the job. For me the power/volume buttons are just as easy to press even though they are covered. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions though.
Took 3-4 business days to get here on super saver shipping.

Looks like I will be waiting for mine for awhile. I ordered a couple of the solid color jelly cases, which are in stock, but I also ordered a couple of the Luxe Argyle skin cases. Those aren't supposed to ship until the 17th. Oh well, I guess I didn't realize they would hold the entire shipment until they could fill everything.
My wife bought a tmobile case in the meantime, so at least I can do a good side by side comparison when the amzer cases come in.

yeah i ordered the one from amzer... talked to a buddy at a tmobile and he was "welll you can get it and just return it if you get the case with in 30 days" went home and saw amzer updated pictures.. cancled the order and just took the dive.. the case from tmobile is perfect i dont mind dropping 20 bucks to keep my expensive phone safe

T-Mobile is finally showing these cases as available for order on their website. Black, teal and a different chrome/black case that looks pretty nice. Still waiting for my Amzer black...sorta wish I'd waited now. I really like the look of these.

Epik Gel Case for MT4G

I bought one of these for my MyTouch3G last year, and thought it was the BEST case I've ever had for a phone. I'm desperately wanting one for my MT4G, but haven't found one anywhere online yet. Anyone know where we can get these? I bought mine on eBay for $4.99 and free shipping from Hong Kong, and I got it in less than 2 weeks.

I agree, those are the best cases I've used. Had one for my original MyTouch and loved it. Hopefully they will get in gear and make them for the 4G now.

That's like the TPU cases others have mentioned, and been on the lookout for on eBay.
I like how they're flexible, but not plain silicon, and maintain the profile of the phone as much as possible.
I gotta pick up something pretty soon. I'd consider just a Phantom Skinz, but with a 3 year old who loves Angry Birds running around the house I need something that offers some drop protection.

i had been looking for these aswell. i bought one for my curve last yr from this guy. clicked this post in hopes to find that you had found them lol. i sent the seller an email asking about these for the 4g. ill check back in if/when he responds

How well does that case absorb a shock if the phone is dropped? I really like how its molded really well to the body-lines of the phone and doesnt look thick. Let us know asap when you do find out if they sell them yet! Thanks!

it does pretty good Thumper. when i had it on my bb i had no issued with it when i dropped it. and i dropped it all the time.

That's awesome news about him getting these cases in the next 1-2 weeks. I'm on my second T-Mo case, and I really haven't been too thrilled with them. Way too much money IMO for cases like these, and I'm considering returning/exchanging my newest one (soft rubber sleeve with white plastic backing) because the rubber attracts WAY TOO much dust.

There's Epik cases on eBay for the HTC HD7, didn't that come out the same day or about the same timeframe as our MT4G? If so, why hasn't there been an Epik case made yet for our phone?

i have no clue, but on a side note tmble has these type of cases at their stores. im tempted to get 2 of them. they have a sale going on 2accessories will land u 20% off and 3 will get u 30% off, but their 20 a peice....

T-Mobile does not carry the Epik branded cases at their stores. They don't have any cases that even come close to the Epik brand.

they arent 'epik' cases BUT they are TPU cases, which is exactly what the epik cases are. they have them for several phones including the mytouch 4g. if i go back ill take a pic and show you. if it werent for the price difference i would have gotten it. but yeah im pretty sure a youtube search would confirm it.

is that like some kinda zagg-like/phantom skin protector? if so YES these cases will fit just fine over that. it shouldnt disrupt anything.

Are these the bendable gel cases they had for the MT3G? It doesn't really specify that anywhere on his auctions, and the pictures make it look more like a hard plastic or hard gel/plastic case.

Noreve tradition case up on their site - due 30th April

Noreve make some of the nicest cases I know (for phones) so quite excited to see them release this one.
It is basically like the Moto Portfolio case as far as I can tell and they are saying it will be in stock on 30th April which is a nice and firm date, whether they hit or not is another matter.
Its a little pricey and I can't decide if the PDair series might be nicer for a similar sort of cost.
Anyway just thought I would share the knowledge as I am still tooing and froing between case choices.

It certainly appears to since it is really only held at the corners. I am not sure it is worth it but from my experience of their phone cases I can vouch for their quality. They ship worldwide or at least many places, definitely uk and Europe and Australia

that looks exactly like the new official moto portfolio case

Has anyone bought one of these yet? I can't find any videos of one on YouTube. I can't decide between PDAirs white ugly(ish) stitching or Noreves corner-holding case. The Noreve case looks far prettier to my eye, but I don't think I like the plastic that shows when the case is being used to prop up the Zoom, that and currently it's ~£75.
Decisions, decisions. I am off to NYC at the end of the month and I want a nice case for viewing the Xoom on the plane. If anyone knows of another professional, smart looking case I'd love to hear of it.
*Edit* Okay, I just spent £98 on the Noreve with fast shipping. Probably about £35 overpriced if you include shipping but meh.

same gripe for me as the moto case; why couldnt they just cut a hole for the charger!

Ten days later, still no case, 3-5 days delivery is what I was quoted when I paid $32.50 for express delivery... Money well spent.

As a follow up, I have e-mailed them today and got a response, after waiting ten days I have to wait another ten days before I will receive it! I paid over $30 for delivery and it will take three weeks to come! What an absolute JOKE, so now I have a $160 case I can't take to New York with me, the whole reason I bought it. And I'm not buying another cheaper one, ~$200 on cases is rediculous. I am so pissed off with them, I don't recommend them at all as far as getting your product in a reasonable timeframe goes.

it has already been 3 weeks since i placed my order, and it still hasnt shipped. after looking at all the other available xoom cases, this is the only one i want... so i wait. i will post photos, and my impressions when it arrives.

Just an update for those of you that might be interested in the Noreve xoom case. They are apparently having production issues right now, with a lot of new cases coming out all at once.
I'll just add to Kalavere's warning that the Noreve case cannot be recommended at this point.

Aye, apparently they messed up the production of the Xoom cases. I got an e-mail from them to say something of the like which is why I now have to wait 3+ weeks to receive mine. I'd steer well clear at least until I get mine which will be sometime before the 6th of June I am told, not that I'm even in the country to receive it, *grumble, grumble...*

Surely at this point unless you still really want it you could ask for a refund although they do make nice cases they are expensive IMO and in the past I've tended to use PDair whose quality I have always found to be excellent. So far I just have the Motorola gel protector and am not sure what else I'm going to get yet but am considering an easel type stand and a neoprane case as have seen some nice ones on E-Bay and it works out at under £20 for both.

Well I came back from the States yesterday after a week or so away and I still hadn't received it, 28 days later...
I e-mailed them yesterday and demanded a refund, as they will only refund after a 30 day period has passed and you haven't received the product. I got a response this afternoon with a refund. They also had the cheek to respond to my English e-mails in FRENCH. I won't buy another product of theirs again, ~£100 for a case direct from the manufacturer is overpriced, and they are rude and incompetent.
I was forced to buy the official Moto Xoom case from Carphone Warehouse before leaving for the US, and I think I'll be sticking with this one, cheap and it works. I don't use a case at home so it's only for transporting it.
Bottom line, if you really have to buy this case, avoid buying it directly from Noreve like the plague.

I've had the noreve case for a couple weeks, and although it is very well built, it has a very negative impact on the xoom's wifi radio. It cuts my signal in half and web pages take forever to load... or don't load at all. As soon as I take the case off everything goes back to normal. Its weird. Xoom wifi.

I have been buying BoxWave ClearTouch Crystal screen protectors for all of my devices for years, and they are PERFECT.
No solutions, no bubbles, 100% clear, you can clean and re-use them, they are static-cling, they fit perfect, very scratch resistant, etc..
I have these on my Canon 5D MkII camera, my Droid X, and other things.
My Droid X has had the same one on for over a year now when I first got it and it is in near-perfect condition. No I am not a salesperson for BoxWave lol.
Although there are some accessories out now for the 10.1, the screen protectors are not yet. I emailed them and they said they will be soon though.

I doubt it's the same. I am sure the BoxWave one is better quality and that the design is slightly different as they usually have higher-quality products. Similar though, yes...

Didn't see it anywhere on the site but do you know if they make screen protectors for it. If you say they are good and aren't to crazy on price, i'd be interested in picking one up.

I just bought the armor suit in the mean time. When you get it post a review up on how you like. I'd like to know how it looks and feels.

Since all of the information here has helped me out substantially since receiving my tablet, I wanted to let everyone know what is happening with Boxwave.
I ordered "FlexSuit , Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510, Smoke Grey - Qty: 2" for the I/O model (for a colleague and myself). The package took several days to ship and about 3 weeks to arrive in Vancouver, Canada. The package contained 2 x smoke flexsuits for the Xoom. Upon notifying Boxwave, I was told that it would be corrected soon by cross ship and Boxwave would reimburse me up to $5 USD since I would have to pay for the Xoom cases to be returned. I told them it was unlikely I could return these items for that little from Vancouver, and requested that they send a preauthorized envelope. The support person got back to me a couple of days later letting me know that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 flexsuits had been discontinued and that was the source of the confusion, and said preauthorized shipping from Canada was not a possibility. They could now authorize more than $5 for the shipment.
Anyway, I will have to return the shipment out of my own pocket to have any chance of a refund.

Does anyone know if the antiglare screen protector dulls the screen's color or output? I have the Invisible Shield, but has its corners messed up from the media dock. It also seems to pick up little "dimples" over time. For some reason, my Evo 4G kept getting the same dimples over time and done know what causes it.

I was snooping around for SII, Epic 4G Touch, accessories and stumbled upon this on eBay. I thought it was going to be just a cheap vinyl with an image of carbon fiber printed all over it. For $4.99 shipped I thought I would give it a try.

When I received it (quick shipping too) I was surprised to see that the skin actually has texture rather than just being a flat vinyl. Its a dry installation and fairly easy to do, granted that you dont drink 3 bottles of Monster before applying. The skin also comes with 2 screen protectors which require a water/soap solution, I didn't bother applying those or even trying them out. ( I hate wet installation screen protectors, prefer dry installation. ) So I cannot comment on the quality of the screen protectors.
The skin covers the entire back and all sides. The cutouts are proper and do not conflict with any functionality. NOTHING in the front is covered with this skin, which I thought kinda sucked. But now that its on my phone I actually think its better that way.
Once applied the skin looks pretty sweet. The texture grips nice and protects your phone from scratches that would mostly derive from being in your pocket, sliding on counters, sitting in your cup holder while driving, and when placing it on the bathroom sink while you wipe your rear after that poopy-while-on-your-phoney.
DONT THINK this will protect your phone from a wooden bat swing or drops. Its a skin, not an otterbox defender.
As for quality, I have had it on my SII for 6 days and still looks as it did the day I put it on. In another week, who knows, another month who knows. Maybe tomorrow it will fall apart and disintegrate.. im not sure.. but so far it was well worth the 5 bucks, and then some.
Side note: my local mall charges like $90 bucks for these things with installation.. WTH................. (granted those are probably better quality)

I have it on my Nook Color and it is definitely worth the price.

I cannot tell you for sure since I dont have the dock, but the skin adds very little to the device.

Question, did it come with a cutout for the Sprint Logo? In the ebay pics it covers the Sprint logo, but in your pics the logo is showing.
Honestly I wish it would cover the Sprint Logo, I hate carrier branding on the outside of the device, huge pet peeve of mine.

I have had one if these since the phone came out. I got it from ghost armor. Mine does cover the log on the back. I also have a desktop dock and it still fits. I am sure my skin is the same thickness as this one. Mine is just more expensive since these weren't out yet.

The texture grips nice and protects your phone from scratches that would mostly derive from being in your pocket, sliding on counters, sitting in your cup holder while driving, and when placing it on the bathroom sink while you wipe your rear after that poopy-while-on-your-phoney.
DONT THINK this will protect your phone from a wooden bat swing or drops. Its a skin, not an otterbox defender.
As for quality, I have had it on my SII for 6 days and still looks as it did the day I put it on. In another week, who knows, another month who knows. Maybe tomorrow it will fall apart and disintegrate.. im not sure.. but so far it was well worth the 5 bucks, and then some.
Side note: my local mall charges like $90 bucks for these things with installation.. WTH................. (granted those are probably better quality)

There is a cutout for the sprint logo, so it does show once the skin is applied.
Have you ever tried rubbing a sugar cube on it? I have heard of people doing that and successfully removing such logos off their device.

Ordered mine on the 29th and it still hasn't came in. It was only market shipped like three or so days after ordering it.. I have a case and was just going to try this out, but it's taking a while and I've received things quicker from China than this lol..

Yeah they're slow. Mine said expected delivery between March 7th and 13th, and here it is the end of business on the 13th and not here.

Yeah I sent them a message not too long ago. I use USPS very often and they always provide me with a tracking number, when I sell and buy. We'll see what happens, I'm not blaming them or anything, just saying how it is.
Edit: Just got a response, it is word for word the same as yours. My item was marked "shipped" on the 4th or 5th though, we'll just have to wait some more.

No so sure it's the seller's fault. USPS workers in my area are pretty disgruntled atm and it shows. They are all feeling what's about to happen to some of them.
