Placeholder for the [mu] kitchen.
DOs and DON'Ts:
DON'T:
1: DON'T ask about vista support. I'm seriously allergic to that expression. Use WinXP SP2/3 and be happy.
2: If it doesn't suit your needs, don't b**** about it and just use another one.
DOs: if you like it, say thanks.
CONSTRUCTIVE criticism/suggestions: more than welcome via PM.

1: .net framework 2.0 at least needed.
2: ms vb runtimes recommended.
3: BEST uncompress with 7zip (or any app supporting lzma) / WinRAR/WinZIP to c:\
4; there is no "readme", so place your RUU_signed.nbh (and Part*.raw) into the "source" folder in the kitchen,.
5: although I tried coding it as noob-proof as possible, the kitchen DOES require some minimal knowledge about the cooking/rebuilding process.
I DON'T intend to spoon-feed you, so if you want additional features, you need to seriously catch up on some reading.
This kitchen DOES need further/extended testing, but I decided to release it after several successful tests on 2 different systems.
Nethertheless, I CAN'T possibly account for the heterogeny of every system in the wild...
I could TRY coding the "perfect" kitchen, but that would be utterly pointless, since experienced chefs use their own kitchen/or don't use frontends.
6: last but not least: even though a cooking process might've been completed, give a few seconds till you move to the next step. HDD/IO bottlenecks tend to do strange things.

Pre-applaud and Pre-thanking
Thank you...................................
Thanks Cyphol.
I will of course give credit where credit is due.
What's taking me so long is that I'm trying to make the batch as easy to read as possible, all the while trying to give as much control as possible over the entire cooking process.
It should RATHER be "noob-proof".
I don't think I will finish it today, because I only have a windows box at work to test it on.
@ home I'm all unix.

(pre)Thanks for sharing a probably great and useful tool !
I think it will be a great kitchen because adwinp is a very hardworking man and he reads and searches a lot.
Thanks Cyphol.
I'm honoured. Though I learned a lot from you guys.
I'm nearly done with the batch file. I'll finish and test it tomorrow.
I tried giving the end user as much control as possible, even though using just one batch.
We'll see if it works.

The [mu] ROM is coming next.
(It might take some time for me to release a ROM worth sharing with the community. I may want to wait for the next official ROM update since I'm not really satisfied with the 1.93 base).
PLEASE DON'T ask when it might be available.
^.^
Although I respect bepe's and dutty's (DP) great work, I stick with Wally regarding protecting the ROM against disasm/copying.
Meaning: No copying protections. Feel free to do with it as you please.
I won't say thanks for this kind of Kitchen. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???
I only want to say MARVELOUS! NICE AND CLEAN! CONGRATULATIONS.
Thanks Cyphol!
The real thanks goes to the authors of the various tools this kitchen serves as a frontend to.
I doubt this is bug-free, but I hope it will be a contribution of some sort to the community I have learned so much from.
Maybe somebody will do a much better job than I did.

Re-download and make sure your browser doesn't screw with the file extension, it's .tbz2 (tar+bzip2) otherwise your unpacker might have issues reading it.
The Archive is fine, and adwinp: the kitchen looks extremely sexy. I'm completely new to cooking and just trying it because I want a proper JVM, but I've looked at the other kitchens, and this one is the nicest so far.
If your ROM is as hot as the kitchen, I might have found myself a new base rom

Use 7zip for any of the archive versions.
It's a fast and free archive manager, supporting lzma.
You can still uncompress the .tbz2 archive with 7zip/winrar/winzip.
Hi adwinp,
Great tool !
Thank you very much for sharing this tool !!!
I've tried it to rebuild a .nbh with some dump files associated with a RUU_signed.nbh from a stock HTC ROM.
After the first steps, all is OK (my casserole seems to smell good ) until the Build step...
I got an abort 'BuildOS.exe ....'
any idea ?
Could you post a screenshot?
Gimme a link to the stock ROM (or tell me what version it is) and I'll check it out.
OS conflict ?
Hi adwinp,
And thanks for your reply.
So, here is what I've done :
1. Copy my 4 Part0*.raw files in y=the \source folder
2. Copy the stock RUU_signed.nbh in the same folder
Notes :
> Dump files are the parts of a french ROM from Bouygues provider avalaible here : http://dl.free.fr/rkxdkK3bp
> RUU_signed.nbh file becomes from an official HTC ROM 1.37.406.1 avalaible here : http://www.4shared.com/file/5430812...io_Signed_Diamond_5226a2509_1002503_Ship.html
3. Launch mu.bat
4. select "a" to Accept
5. select "r" to Rebuilt
6. select "d" to leave it Dirty
7. select "z" to extract OS from base (OK, new folder 'casserole' with the OS.nb file)
8. select "g" to extract system files (OK, new folder 'imgfs_e' in the casserole)
9. select "y" to extract core files (OK, new folder 'xip_e' in the casserole)
10. select "p" to concatenate system (it seems good)
11. select "o" to rebuild the base...
And then, the error message :
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After that, I've tried to use the other method with Diamond Kitchen, and I got exactly the same error when building the OS...
plus another message :
Even if I don't really know how the BuildOS step proceeded, it seems there is an OS incompatibility or conflict, right ?
I'll try to rebuild your ROM later.
A quick question though: do you have NET Framework >= 2.0 installed?

where the ruu?
I'm downloading it, but will not be able to test it until tonight. Gonna have to attend a meeting soon. Will keep you informed If finding any more bug, apart from known ones.
Edit: I just saw a new post by Erofich in the previous thread, maybe I'd better wait a little until you try the new way with shellcelog.dll?
I just went home and flashed my Cava with your rough ROM. First of all, it didn't brick my phone That says, the ROM basically is done, only some issues left to address, and they're as followed:
+ Sounds and Profiles problems as known; Selecting Sounds gives me the "Setting couldn't be opened" but doing the Profiles does allow me to open it; however, I can't either edit any profile or switch among them. The overall system sound is pretty low, may be because of this setting issue.
+ Beam applet inside Connections is able to be opened, but can't be saved when the option's checked, giving the "Settings couldn't be saved".
+ Accessibility applet can't be opened also, giving the error related to accessib.xml, saying that it can't be loaded.
+ Unlike WM6.1 HTC Excalibur I used before, Contacts just doesn't display contacts I've stored on SIM. I also checked the registry key, which is ShowSIM under HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ , the value is 1 which's supposed to show SIM contacts as it should, but It doesn't.
+ The OS is not application pre-unlocked, that's not a prob, but maybe the reg key 0000101b under HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies should be pre-changed to 1 to ease the unlock procedure after each HR. You know, to unlock it, PC connection is neccessary to run the tool, so when we're not near one, our apps just boo at us challengingly
+ The Java Manager is probably out of date, I got a new one and it's proven that It's usable with most of java apps I've tried to installe. I couldn't do it with the one that came with the original WM6.0 Cava ROM. Just guess this one is the same, 'cos the version and icon look pretty much identical.
+ After using for a while, when I go to Start menu, out of the blue, the two softkey letters on the bottom bar are just vanished, I can still press them with guess though.
+ The Streaming Media tool seems to be un-usable, 'cos I've tried both WIFI connection and Wired connection (with my PC to the NET, and my Cava to it), but I just can't get it to play any youtube file on m.youtube.com (which it's supposed to be able to handle this).
+ Just my suggestion, but in the official release, maybe you can consider adding those useful tools to the ROM, on my previous WM6.1 Excalibur, they were pre-intergrated and quite useful. I'll attach (some of) them here as well. Here's the list:
. ClockOnTop: http://www.2shared.com/file/3918722/1cac6006/ClockOnTop_QVGA_WM5.html
. SRS WOW XT High Definiton Sound: http://www.2shared.com/file/3918721/85a531bc/SRSWOWHDv12850.html
. Esmertec Java Manager: http://www.2shared.com/file/3918712/378133c5/EsmertecJbed_2008022231.html
. PIE download plugin: http://www.2shared.com/file/3918731/9cbe00fd/SN_PIE_Download_Plugin.html
. Opera Mini 4.1 (requires Java manager- Esmertec, but is a great alternative for PIE): http://www.2shared.com/file/3918738/e562b859/opera-mini-latest-advanced-int.html
Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you port another newer build of WM, say 19513 or something? 'cos I've seen somewhere in this forum about some new builds for WM-based Smartphones. Maybe those builds are just incompatible with our Cava or something?
Edit: having some prob with the file attaching system, so I'll upload them onto some other file upload service, and just post links to them here.
good work
I threw my cavalier in a corner for nearly 5 onths and now im back on it thanks to this wm 6.1 youve worked so hard to bring us. Thanks. Hopefully i can help by letting out some problems im having with it.

I'm having probs with sending SMS, seems message center has not been added as you said. I believe MSN messenger has been replaced by Windows Live in WM6.1, however I don't see it too. I don't use this much so I hardly noticed the absence.
Please flash OEM Stripped AT&T first before you flash this ROM.
OEM Stripped AT&T : Here
Thanks to Josh for Kitchen and too many other people to mention.
This is my first ROM and I still have a lot to learn but I thought I would give it a try. There are bugs in 6.5 so please keep that in mind as I won't be able to fix everything since I'm stll learning but it works pretty good for me so far.
I am using the default dialer because with the new lock screen in 6.5 it has its own slide to answer and it works good and most other dialers mess with it. If anyone knows of some better graphics that go with the stock dialer let me know.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to cook in and make a theme? I'm really stuck on that and I have noticed others doing it in their ROM's so hopefully someone can help me. I have tried running EXEC:\Windows\CusTSK.exe \Windows\whatever.tsk in config.txt at startup and it runs but the theme still isn't selected so I'm not sure what else to do

Thanks guys I'm really trying its just harder than I thought. The theme just doesn't make sense to me I can't figure it out Other than that everything seems fine and has been running fine for me all day.
Josh--thanks bud I don't have msn but I can install it on my system and find you. I just don't get the theme thing. I'm really trying to get Bliss theme as the default but no go. Not uploaded yet. Should be later this evening.
Ok its uploaded..Sorry it took so long but I had to change a few things and I'm still trying to figure out the whole theme changing thing so you'll have to go into the today setting and select the Bliss theme yourself.
I updated it this morning the old one should be fine but I took out jzsmartmort cause the cab seemed to be doing weird things on install but I could be wrong. I also put the original theme back in but still go into today settings and select the Bliss theme.
Hopefully I will figure out how to get a custom theme to work eventually lol..
Another very minor thing is for some reason trying to pre load .xml files don't work. I don't know if its wm6.5 or the kitchen that causes it. Simply load up advancedconfig and press menu Import Provisions and in the \windows directory theres a file mrdsl.xml and load that. Its not a must but puts some settings in like pics etc to storage card and IE temp files to the \temp folder.
I just installed your new rom..and lovin' it. It's quick!, also love the dialer..simple and has "add call" button. Going to put it thru the test. Thanks for cooking this one up.

I have only been using this for about a half an hour now but I must tell you.... everything that has kept me away from titanium is in you build. You got it! If this is your first try you have already got my respect!

This a CWM update for your js3/js5 custom roms/deodexed roms. it will simply add persian/arabic and urdu support to your phone.
Credits go to
- Darkyy for his RTL language support (base of this update is Darkyy RTL which you may find it here )
- g00ndu who made the great guide for adding locale to the roms (find it here)

Spec of this update:
-Samsung default keyboard with persian/arabic/urdu support
-Swype keyboard with persian/arabic/urdu support
-web surfing with above mentioned languages
known issues:
-you should choose default font only or install fonts which are supporting your language otherwise some alphabets are not shown correctly
-in sending sms when you are typing the firs alphabet of your first word for some unknown reasons will get additional alphabet which you have not typed it
you may test this issue by this word in your language : salam سلام
then it will write سسلام or اسلام this issue was reported on darkyy RTL support also. I wish Darky will see this post and do some mod for it
for those who are looking for the persian language support can take a look at the main forum here
Due to the problem with themed roms the locale and some applications has been removed from the file which means you will not have menu in persian/arabic or ordu but web surfing or typing is supported in above mentioned languages.
now let's get to work

the first reboot will take a while please be patient

custom roms means like "Doc and stefunel rom" or "darkyy rom' or any other unofficial rom
you may also make a deodexed rom by yourself. if you don't know how then search the forum I'm sure there are many threads regarding this subject
@ OP,
Congratulations!! You have made many people very happy.
It is a lot of hard work, but certainly you have done yourself proud!
Excellent work.
Edit: I'm not sure the bug of additional letters is due to lib issues or framework issues. I would suggest to compare the lib folders for these 2 roms, maybe Darkyy may have not included one more .so file?
If you are using gtglauncher, you can also add the locale you want without decompiling the gtglauncher. All you need is to decompile twlauncher, add the locale and recompile back. Then just copy the resources.arsc to the gtglauncher. Of course, you will need to add additional strings to your values folder xml, like what gtg465x has done before recompiling.
Note that it works on 16bit, will always fc once if you do it with the 16bit-disabled. Check out webstar1 Starlauncher thread where I have posted.
Good luck.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Thank you for the Persian support
I'm currently using Darky's Rom and his patch for Persian support. The issue of the first letter is not the only issed! When writing an SMS, additional blanks and spaces are appended to the text. Wonder if yours does the same...
Great job, well done!
Looks like it is the framework that is controlling the input. Hence it will be extremely difficult to resolve, unless you have the knowledge to understand fully the mechanics of the xml.

It is possible, but it will be extremely difficult to do it. You will need to baksmali framework.jar and see if there are distinct differences between the arabic rom and the 2.2.1 rom.

Hi again g00ndu good you can remember me , well I have checked framework.jar and I found one file with the name of arabicreshape.smali which I could not find it in persian/arabic rom (jpjpg) in the same file. I think I have to work on it, on the other hand if darkyy could give me a hint for what he has done it might be helpful

That's a good start, right now is to find out how this interact with the overall framework of the rom.
Perhaps you can just add this $smali to the 2.2.1 framework.jar and recompile it back. See if it will throw out any errors. If there is, look at what the errors say.
If not, then see if you can replace this modded framework.jar with the stock one.
You better get your original one into a flashable cwm zip, and put it in your internal sd card. In case it doesn't work, you can always flash back without going back to odin.
I wish you luck, brother taha-e.
If you can do it, I'm sure our ME friends will be very happy. And you have my full support on this.

If you do include camera.apk as part of the rom, just make sure you don't compressed the modded apk. For me it always fc, until I modded a decompressed version.
Hope this helps you.

Thank you very much for your support here is the file which darkyy has added to framework.jar
HTML:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mayrcr4i97oyz17
maybe you or those who are familiar with xml can take a look and see if there is any problem with this file
I also will continue with other files. the file libskia.so is missing in darkyy update
I think this file has some relations with RTL, Im going to try it tomorow
wrong post I could not delete it.
For those who want persian/arabic locale (menues in persian/arabic) and they are using Darkyy 9.3 you may download the file below and replace the 2 files (framework-res.apk and tw-framework-res.apk) with the files in the main update
or you may do it by root explorer , just copy files to /system/framework

I'm still working on it,I have limited information on this issue as a result of that I have to do research and study at the same time,so the progress not so smooth, on the other hand the gingerbread rom made me a bit lazy , seems 2.2.1 will be out of date soon

Maybe, maybe not. Because, there are plenty of issues to be ironed out for Gingerbread before it can become stable. That is going to take some time. Besides that, there is an added advantage, which is that whatever you have done now, could be easily be ported over to Gingerbread. In fact I can bet that you may be the first one that release a 2.3 rom that supports hebrew, arabic and urdu!
Don't give up now.
I'm certain you are pretty close to resolving those issues, even though some don't mind. Just do it whenever you have the time, buddy!
Hey friends, this is my first ever thread, so please excuse me if I've made any mistakes, like posting at wrong place, etc.....
I'm attaching the .apk and lib file for swype keyboard from "Indian Gingerbread Stock Rom" DDJV6.
Now, if you're wondering wondering why I bothered to post it, when (almost) every rom has it pre-installed..... the answer is this-
Its the most awsome swype keyboard I've seen in my life. WHY???
1. It has a dedicated 'smiley' key..... just press it and all smileys pop up, u can select one and this is very helpful while chatting/ messaging.
2. A dedicated 'mic' key, so u can use voice,,,, ie., u can simply 'speak' instead of writing. [just like 'samsung keyboard']
3. a dedicated 'language' key, to quickly switch between different languages, and it supports many..... en-us, en-uk, etc., etc.. 11 i counted.
4. go to 'symbol' mode, there is a key for 'input method' that u can use to switch between different keyboards. yes, i know you can do that by long pressing in the text box too, but sometimes, when there is no text box, like in terminal apps, this comes in handy.
5. overall look is very kool!!!!
pls give it a try, and tell if you like it.
How to install:-
DO backup, etc etc,,,, whatever you need to do, cuz i'll not be responsible for anything.
> using ADB.
or
>using some root explorer. {you need to be rooted ofcourse}.
or, just like what i'm gonna do next,
> Take any Rom of your choice { I'm gonna use JVP 2.3.4}, extract the .zip file, replace the swype.apk from System>app folder with this one, zip it again, flash using recovery. (note that you must have a "recovery flashable" rom, which is in .zip format,,,,,,, there are also "odin flashable" roms in .tar format, and this meathod wont work with them.
remember,
1. Place swype.apk in System -> App folder.
2. Place libSwypeCore.so in System -> lib folder.

Nice.
Would love to have the "smiley" key. All the others are of not much use to me.
I am using Swype 3.6 and love the word selection window, would hate to go back to older one. (if i go, I guess I have found the one, to use ).. I already have the voice button.. (all the others, I don't have, but don't find it of much use)..
Any way to "export" the smiley key to another apk. (Swype 3.6, in my case)..?

I am pretty sure that , porting the smiley key would be much easier to do. The other might required playing around with the source code?

well, u see, the place where u want me to put thwe smiley key,,, thats already occupied by something else, so i'll have to move it somewhere else,,,,, this means eventually remapping entire keyboard, wch cud b difficult.
porting the word selection window shud be easier, like just copying and pasting the source from 3.6 to 2.6 and can u post the apk for 3.6? i can look around on internet took, but ity wud waste time.

Will do once I reach home.
I believe there is no library file though..(libSwypeCore.so..),so I guess posting the apk would be enough.
Why didn't you name this thread though?
Here it is.
Can you tell me how to port the smiley (and its functions) to the existing layout? ( The function in place of smiley, (language change) is the useless (for me) ; so I don't mind losing it).

I guess, it is because the version I downloaded contains only 3 languages (Eng-US/UK and Spanish). The bigger one is 13 MB, I think..
