How fast is your evo - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im curious to see what some of the mflops ratings users have using linpak. I just came from the moment with google and was getting about 9.5, that was what most people used to measure the phone. What are you getting and what are you running?
EDIT: or is the standard testing for the performance of the evos different if so what is it?

40-45 on average at the moment. Running Cyanogenmod Nightly Build 7/25

I get about 45 on all of cyans builds so far.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

6-9 on most 2.1 builds. And 40+ on FroYo builds.

48-50 constant

Hmm someone mind explaining to me how yall are getting 40+ ?
I just rooted, etc, and using CM6 7/25 and only getting 35

So u guys are clearly talking about fps not mflops correct?

46

The default max is 1152000 MHz, I just did a couple tests at that speed and got about 42.6 max after I ran it just a couple times

all my best are in my sig....OCd at 1152

well with fps2d im getting average: 51 and stdev:7.68 but the highest peak is 57fps

What are you guys using to find all this info out? I'm kinda new to this sorry

Linpak for Android. Get it in the Market.

to measure fps accurately use an app called fps2d and to measure mflops user linpack...both of these are available in the market for free

I don't see why people obsess over MFLOPS. Meh. Start posting results from REAL benchmarks... like nenamark1 and neocore. Those will make your EVO CRY. MFLOPS don't really correlate to real world performance, as you only get numbers that high because of the improved compiler... not processor speed.

I only score 11626 with the linpack app. I have seen people saying they get around 38000. I cant figure out evt i cant get a higher score. Does anyone know why that may be.
Ps og thisted is not the right place
to post this plz say so.

I scored 22 the other when I tried, I removed the app since. I didn't like how it needed voice call permission, seemed dodgy.

15-30 is a normal result for linpack, its just a cpu benchmark, and depends on your current cpu load, i just ran one now to check and got 27.485mflops
I have now been running it several times and I ever get above 13, even after restart.
U say it says something about CPU load. So how do I lower it, so I can get a higher score. As I have understood it, the lower CPU load the more battery.
I'm still running the standard sense, how much more battery could I have if I were to switch to what u have in here?

And on quadrant I got 1600.

I'm just messing man, the most I get right now is like 41.xx using the setup that's in my sig. I've never seen any scores as high as the ones in the list, and I've never seen anyone on here ever claim to get scores that high so I don't know what's up with those.
Can't see your sig I'm using tapatalk

I bet you I can reverse engineer the app to get some crazy scores lol. JJ..........
MIUI 1.1.28 with the SavageKernel 1.6 CFS-HAVS. I overclock to 1190 and set governor at performance for the test, smartass for normal use.

My Epic is slow on Smartbench

I am running Genocide 0.3 with setCPU set to 1.2 Ghz and performance. I am getting scores lower than a 1.0 Ghz stock Epic with 2.2. I am getting 1113 and 2435 at 1.2 Ghz. That is definitely an improvement over stock EB13 where I was gettin 300-400 less on each. What could be slowing my Epic down?
Thanks.

Those scores aren't really all that bad. Not great, but not bad!
If it helps any (and might make you feel better ) run Smartbench again and note the scores of the next 2 or 3 phones below your score. Run Smartbench again and see what the scores are listed at for those same phones again and you will see that they have changed.
I'm sure that Smartbench is one of the best benchmark programs out because of they way it tests, but the "comparison" output it gives leaves a lot to be desired.
In any case, scores also vary based on what things are running in the background when the test is performed. (IE: As soon as the phone is booted up, immediately after killing apps/tasks, etc.)
Edit: The way a Rom is optmized has a lot to do with it as well. What Rom are you running with the Genocide kernel?

It made a big difference on Smartbench? Want to switch but keep my stock apps and TouchWiz. I had some FCs last time I tried to just convert so want to make sure to pick a ROM with as little bugs as possible.

Well I jumped in to EXT 4 and Bonsai and bricked my phone, which only confirms my phone was flaky from the start. So I Odin'd the EB13 Deodexed with EXT4 and then Bonsai on top of that, restored with Titanium and VOILA, superfast! I finally beat the stock Epic and just about tie with that LG on top! Thank you all for the advice.
trying to run quadrant, phone hangs up on cpu step 10/12 every time. I know it's doing video decoding, but I feel like it shouldn't sit there for 5+ minutes...
running syndicate rom on eb13 ext4
Which SmartBench are you running? 2010 or 2011? If you're running 2011, the scores are going to be lower because he changed the baseline.
My scores on 1.2Ghz, Syndicate ROM are 949 and 2264 but significantly lower than the 2010 version which was (going from memory) around 1300 and 2900.
The way I use these benches are firstly against my own phone. The first numbers are my base and then I only compare against myself.
Secondly, you'll have to go to the website to filter the score results, but you'll compare your phone ONLY with those of the same phone.
Thirdly, once it's been established that all units are being run against the same tool, you can compare your marks against others.
Not saying my way's the only way of looking at things or that it's better; just that I do it this way.

Which rom kernel combo scores the highest on linpack?

I seen one that had a score of over 97. Does anyone know which rom/kernel that is. If not, which roms/kernel combos can score that high.
you get an average of 1300

I've glitched my phone before haha. i once got 140 MFLOPS in linpack haha.

It deals with the kernel.
Listen Samurai may not show benchmark scores up high but it performs better trust me. a score is a score nothing real.

All in all I'm at 4100+ on antutu I think I still have the title on that benchmark for the epic, that's me at 4137 ;-) pics forthcomming. Still a noob trying to post pics to this forum from my phone.
My quadrant standard is at 2800 (which is mos def not the highest score but its a legit 2800-2900) and my linpack is at 26.5 on average. And its a daily driver I save battery by using an app called 2x battery, it kills the data connection when the screen is off, it helps a little. I. Don't believe in profiles on voltage control or set cpu.
