Ok so my droid is flashed to cricket and I'm sure many of you have heard of the new IP change. Well i replaced the autostart.sh file with the one that contains the new IP, and my browser works fine but now my apps dont work (as in they don't get internet access) =/... anyone have any ideas?
P.S: I was looking through ##debug on the phone and on the evdo programming tab it has the old ip address and maybe thats the issue ... how would i change that?
Thank You

Hoping someone can help me. I know I have read out there before about same issue. My 4g connects fine, stays connected, but will not load (connect ) to any web pages /network connections. It was working before and the only thing I remember having different is the new PRI . I am rooted and everything seems to work fine (except for wireless tether dropping every few minutes when using) . Can someone help me out with the 4g issue or link me to a thread that discusses the connected but not working aspect? Search engine here does not let two letter words come up in specific search so it makes it difficult. My mac Address is correct, but I forgot how to verify a good ip address, etc. Help!!

Are you using an ad blocking hosts file? If so, get rid of it. 4G doesn't work with ad blocking host files.
no I am not
I just recently purchased the Desire and the same night I rooted my phone with unrevoked. Since then I have been unable to send and receive MMS. Some of my coworkers who got new phones the same day and didn't touch them are able to receive MMS. My question is, do you think that this is because I rooted it, or chance it is a problem with my phone? If it is a problem with the phone, do I have to unroot it before bringing it in to my service provider or do you think they wouldn't notice?
Prob be something to do with the root. Just flash a stock Froyo rom and it should be alright. Just make sure you do a nandroid backup first just to be safe
I had the same issue with my Desire, but managed to fix it just yesterday.
Find the homepage for your provider and they normally have a guide for setting up MMS, which is, normally in the case of HTC Desire, automatic. But if you try see the manual set-up for non-supported phones and you enter those values/data, it's all gravy again
Sounds like a pretty common problem with small providers. I tried looking around and was unable to find any settings on the website...
Try see if you can Google it. I noticed that there are sites which are dedicated to collecting all the settings of different providers (definitely here in DK) and making them accessible in tables.

Man...I've been trying to find it but I can't....I have cellcom (usa-Wisconsin) maybe someone else can help me locate something.

Okay, I also tried seeing if I could find the settings for cellcom in the States and no luck: just Israel. Also not a very informative webpage for cellcom either.
If you don't want to unroot your phone etc. I would think contacting the company by mail and asking for the manual settings might pay off. I'm pretty sure this is the issue as mms and internet settings are automatically set-up for each phone model in some providers and rooting might have removed the settings from identifying it as an HTC Desire, though I have no way to be sure.
So you should receive a reply with the MMS proxy and port, the MMSC and APN.
It definitely worked for me.
Hope it all works out!
I was recently googling hacks for my evo and found something on changing the sprint HA server address to get faster speeds. http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/1960/63/
It gave a list of sprint HA servers and there was a closer server than the one my evo was currently set to use. So i changed it to the closer one and it dramaticly increased my 3g speeds.
Anyways my question is does anybody know what the verizon HA server addresses and locations are. I have searched all over with no luck and everyone i have asked has theirs set the same as mine 255.255.255.255 wich will or is suppose to get you the closest server, but does not always do so.. If anyone would be willing to check what their setting are and post that would be great. Hoping i can get the same results i got from my evo.
Aww no answers i thought for sure someone here would know something. Anyone?
I'm not even sure how to access the menu to see what my home agent is set to. I'd be interested in changing it myself, on a D2G.
I've done this before on a Palm pre, but can't seem to find out how to do this on a Verizon Droid...
i flashed my evo to cricket few days ago, talk and text work great but no mms nor web. i've tried GreenK45 with no luck, tried the other method via cmd with adb but i get an error early on in the process..anyone else know what i can do to correct this? im running MikFroyo 2.2 V4.62
If you go to the top...you will see a search button...type in cricket mms evo and see the results...I say that not to be a jerk...but this has been answered and fixed a few months back and my memory is not that good to remember how to fix it..and that will help you more then my reply..

Thanks and ive tried that. i have found 3 ways of saying it will work and nothing seems to work for me, i only posted after i found no results. thanks for you reply though.
so after searching on my phone itself i noticed two things, a folder called opt that houses autostart.sh and a folder that houses u2nl was never created, i then checked my proxies they are 0'ed out but i think it's because the folders werent created or placed in the correct place, i try to copy these folders and files there and it deny access or fails to create the folder... anyone know how i can over come this?
Get the Jimmy cricket rom...yea I know...it not as slick as mik...I think you nned to copy the default.XML and also has a mms.apk that is from the incredible..both on the jimmy rom. I believe that was the one...there was a post awhile back....I flashed my first 2 evos to cricket and got fed up with the Internet service and switched to sprint on my 3 Ed evo..been so long I simply forgot...also...if you flashed it yourself..kudos..it is a great learning curve. Use root explorer to make the folders and copy.

Thanks, guess ill trade up to the other rom.
##3282#
Every ROM I have tried MMS on the Evo works on cricket once they brought in the ePST fix. It is incorporated into every ROM I've used from Mik or Virus or any really. Let me correct myself any sense ROM I've used.
If you goto your phone and dial ##3282# and it gets you into ePST. You need to alter a few things in there.
data profile
user name= your#@mycricket.com
spi mn-ha= 12c
spi mn-aaa= 2
home ip = 0.0.0.0
primary home and second home same 0.0.0.0
ha and aaa secret= cricket
leave dsa server url alone
advanced
mms server url
http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Once the data profile is right. The only thing you need to fix when you flash a new ROM is the mms server url in advanced. It reverts to sprintpcs.com.
Hi guys,
I opened this new thread because I already tried the search tool, even the google search, but nothing came up for the Xperia Play.
My question is, is there a way to change the wi-fi MAC address on the Xperia Play?, the reason I want to do that is because I think somebody at my job blacklisted my device from the wi-fi... some co-workers can get into the wifi network while some of us don't.
All our phones detects the WIFI network, all of us have the password (ok somebody smuggled it for us heheh )
A month ago I was able to do so, and no problem whatsoever, then it just started to get stuck while obtaining the IP address, then, disconnects from the network and get into an infinite loop not being able to sign into the network, while my desk neighbor not so-smart phone (samsung marvel) keep getting connected using the same password, so my first thought was it was only blocking smart-phones by MAC prefixes or android signature ... whatever
But yesterday another co-worker brought his just purchased Samsung Galaxy PRO (which looks like a Blackberry, but running android ), and to my surprise he did got into the wifi network without any issue (using the same password I use and gave him for trial), so I'm now pretty sure they blacklisted by MAC address
Well I manage to convince my buddy to share the network via tethering as a work around, and IT WORKED.
Anyone have an idea if what I'm thinkind is possible (being MAC blacklisted) and also if there's a way to change it on my PLAY runnin Gingerbread 2.3.3 un-rooted with stock SE SW.?
Thanks
I'm not at the pc now. Search my posts for bluetooth address with references to pocketnow tutorial for different device. Maybe you can make it work on xplay. I got one step closer locating one of the address files in one of the posts but no further. Don't know if you can do it without root.
