Play itunes mp4 files on Evo - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if there is an app that lets you play videos from the itunes store on the evo

This is very unlikley given the DRM imbedded in all things purchased via the apple store unless you can find something that will facilitate a direct sync of content between iTunes and the phone and includes a player that is compatible with the DRM.

any other ideas?

There are no other ideas. Your sole current solution is to find a way to transcode the video file to a compatible format and bypass Apple's FairPlay DRM. Good luck with that.

6.1 WM Napster Music Problem

I am running V15 of the WM 6.1 Ricky Rom.
Iv used some other versions with the same problem....
The phone syncs with my Napster-To-Go service and lets me add songs all I want but when I go to play on the phone it wont play just says "Cannot play any items in the playlist". "An unknown error 0X800700C1 has occurred"
Any help or ideas would be helpfull.
I can confirm this...I have this issue as well. It worked fine using the last HTC 6.0 rom.
Another thing I noticed is once I do try to play the music and get the errors the whole phone basicaly crashes. If I push the task manager shortcut it says not a valid Ce Application same for the start button and the power button doesnt respond so i have to remove the battery.

I don't have that problem. You may need to reflash the rom to fix that.
is napster to go music DRM free??.. as i know, the only firmwares letting you play drm'ed music are the htc's ones.
What is DRM?

drm is a kind of protection that allows M$, napster, yahoo and other online music stores to limit the usage of digital media legally acquired.
to play drm-protected content your digital player (in this case your s620) must be compatible with PLAYS FOR SURE standard. as i know, the s620 is not recognized as a "plays for sure" device under windows media player, so you might not be able to play protected content on it (i've used zune marketplace to buy drm'd music and i cannot even copy it to my phone)

Plays for Sure is only one type of DRM. The iTunes store uses a different type that is incompatible with Plays for Sure, and the Zune marketplace uses yet another DRM. That's the jist of it though.
That sux. It did work with the T-Mobile official rom and the latest HTC WM6 rom but maybe this one isent certified or whatever...
Wonder if theres any digital rights file or something I can copy over to make it work... I pay for the music from napster and napster regonizes my phone just seems like it should work.
Any update?
Does anyone know of a fix for this yet?
I just got napster as a gift and if this works I'll keep it.
OR is there a way to remove DRM from my napster tracks and make them regular MP3's?

to remove the DRM from the tracks you legally own, you can use 3rd party software like tunebite... search for it in torrent sites and if you like it, buy it (i don't support software piracy)

Will not play .avi videos????

I have the Verizon TP2, and I just put a movie on my memory card, but when I go to play it, it comes up saying "Cannon Play The File"
I have it on my computer, so I know its an .avi file, I just thought that the TP2 could play them straight out of the box.
Does anyone know of a good media player that will play just about anything, including .avi and DivX files?
The best player is coreplayer, its not free tho, using the legal ways.
good luck on finding a player.

[Q] Zune music files???

is it possible to somehow use a rooted evo to play WMA files from zune? or is it completely impossible? because i know plenty of people who would love this and pay to be able to do it
From... Zune Pass? DRM'd wma files cannot be played on anything but a windows machine right now, afaik. Though you may be able to play them w/ mplayer.

zune album art track details to itunes

This is probably the wrong place to ask but I hope someone may know. I have owned a zune hd and now have a wp7 i use zune media player for playing my music. But living in England its hard to buy a Zune at a good price and my music collection is way to big even if i could get a 64gig phone. So im now thinking of getting an ipod classic (really wanted a zune 120 but i need to get finance as xmas has made me poor) the problem i have is that zune uses its own database to store all the data for my music collection. Is there a way to convert that data into itunes as i found it more than useless at organizing my music and especially bad at finding album art (about 40% hit rate zune = 90% and then has much much easier finding features or manual changing). I dont want this to turn into a battle of whats better and why plus we all know that its zune by a long way. But i was just hoping someone might know how this can be done or if it can be done.
unlike MS who is willing to play nice to help get your stuff across, Apple has no intention (I believe) to support any form of importation from Zune. I think you're on your own unless you can find a 3rd party product to do it for you.
Actually both the Zune software and Apple iTunes software use their own database AND BOTH OF THEM DON'T WRITE THE INFORMATION IN THE FILE'S (SONG'S) ID3 TAGS.
You have to do them manually. One thing that might help you is right clicking songs or albums in iTunes and using Check Album Artwork, just have the write information in the ID3 tags of the song. It will take a very long time to manage these songs but when you find spare time (and believe me someday you will), organize it. I did with mines too. Don't use automatic organizers, they just mess up your music collection.

Is it possible to play wma from zune in dhd?

I've been looking for a solution to play wma protected songs from the zune store. I'm subscribed to Microsoft zune store which is awesome but android doesn't seem to support the wma songs that I download. I tried the poweramp solution but it wouldn't play them, is there any other way to be able to play them on my desire hd. I also tried the conversion on pc but its just way to much time to convert all my library and the quality seems to change to worse when I convert them. Is my only solution to buy an spare windows phone and use it as an mp3 player? I'm sure I can huy one for cheap on ebay, I don't really care about cellular services. I kind of don't want to buy it though, so if anyone knows how, it'd be much appreciate it.
