Thankyou very much, but I can't get it to work. It won't install, and if I push it to the system/app folder it doesn't come up under widgets. Any way to get it to work?
Ur asking a good question, I extracted it from my original rom with root uninstaller dunno if you can install back by this app??
I suspect you are on Cognition.
If this' the case then you have to go to the Cognition thread and download the removed stuff from the first post and push it to /system/app either with Root Explorer or via adb.
If you take the original Samsung widgets from stock ROMs or even from past versions of Cognition itself they shouldn't work as expected...
A bit weird to me but that's the truth...
I recently traded in my Arc for a Galaxy S II but I really miss the default calendar app for the Arc. I've tried extracting the firmware but can't find any apk file anywhere.

1 Download Stock-Rom (Google is your friend )
2 Extract it
3 Go to system/app in the stock rom
4 Copy the sms/mms apk or what else to phone's SD
5 Use root explorrer to copy the apps to system/app on phone *
6 Set premissions to : rw-r--r--

Hm, well, I saw it in the market, I think I'll give it a go. But I wanted to not use a 3rd party app And both of the modified MMS I found weren't that good...
No, I can't live with Go SMS. Crappy as hell, bloated with things I don't use. I downloaded a customized app for CM7, I'll give it a go. I got it from here, XDA, but forget the thread and stuff. Just searched for "mms cm7" and found it.
Thanks anyway!

Hi,
This is a really dirty fix but it works! Extracted and replaced /res/xml/music_widget_info.xml with the file attached. I've replaced the line android:resizeMode="vertical" with android:resizeMode="horizontal|vertical" and zipped the file back up again.
A little more to it then that since apktool can't compile the app but it's working
Just put the apk into /system/app/ or extract your own and replace the xml file.
Enjoy!

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18412241/MusicPlayer.apk
Doesn't work..
I cant resize the music player horizontal.
Thank's
Just tested it from Dropbox myself and it does work. Downloaded the APK and overwrote the original one in /system/app/
This version came from Omega 7.1 so is deodexed. If your ROM isn't deodexed you'll need to delete the MusicPlayer.odex file in /system/app/.
I haven't got that xml folder?

anyone know if is possible to install tab lwp on galaxy nexus?
for ie: galaxy tab 2 sky lwp or asus lwp
thanks to all
Up up up plz

Probably, give it a shot. Download one of their ROMs, and go into system/app and pull out the LWP apks that you want. If they don't install like normal apps then use a root file explorer and put them in system/app, change the permissions to match the other apks in that directory and reboot. Worse case scenario they won't work or will display incorrectly.

I don't know anything about osx but it should be just a .zip file that you can extract.
