To fix my 4g

heard some roms don't support the codes. custom rom?

If you have a custom ROM, it might not support dial-codes such as ##DATA#, *#*#4636#*#*, etc. This is a known issue. You can always flash a rooted stock ROM, apply the baseband fix, and then re-flash your ROM.

That makes perfect sense! I'm using baked snack rom.. I guess that's why it's not working... I guess I can't fix my 4g yet...

Well, you can do a Nandroid backup, then wipe your data, cache, and dalvik cache, then flash a rooted OTA (stock w/ OTA) ROM, adjust the settings in ##DATA#, then re-flash your (right now) current ROM, followed by a Nandroid restore.
In other words:
1) Download OTA (1.47) rooted ROM.
2) Copy it to /sdcard then reboot into recovery
3) Do a Nandroid backup
4) Wipe everything in data, cache, dalvik (aka, factory reset)
5) Flash OTA rooted ROM
6) Boot into Android, bring up Phone dialer, punch in ##DATA#, type in MSL, adjust settings.
7) Reboot
8) Reboot into recovery
9) Wipe data, cache, dalvik, flash your old ROM
10) Reboot into Android, then reboot into recovery
11) Nandroid restore.
12) Reboot into Android, and you should have everything back.

After rooting phone has started freezing

So I rooted my phone for the dumbest reason...so I could take screen shots lol anyways, it's been freezing up with the texting and stuff. I was wondering if there is anyway to unroot it. Please someone help.
That's a funny reason to root your phone.....anyway, just flash a stock rom. Make sure you wipe first.

What is wiping
Boot into recovery (hold volume down and power at the same time, after white bootloader screen appears, select recovery), now in recovery select wipe data/factory reset, then select wipe cache, then select advanced, then wipe dalvik cache - wiping dalvik is optional in clockworkmod, since it is already wiped in the previous steps (this is the menu and steps for clockworkmod recovery, RA recovery is similar)
Anytime you flash a new rom or kernel, wiping gives you a clean slate helping prevent future issues.

[Q] need some help

so imma newbie and i tryed to flash the destroyer rom onto my evo when i reboot run the rom it keep showing destroyer animation over and over does anyone else know why ?
Wait 10 mins, if nothing, try reboot, still nothing? Flash again.
Make you sure you follow directions when flashing a custom rom. Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache.
hTC Evo CM7-n17
You didn't flash it correctly and you got what is called bootlooping. Just wipe factory/data, cache, and dalvik and then try again.
It will bootloop if you flash the ROM and gapps in the same recovery session. You have to flash ROM, reboot, then go back into recovery, wipe dalvik and flash gapps. If you want the extras, flash larger gapps first, then reboot again and wipe dalvik and flash smaller gapps.
so i reflashed it worked just one problem my visual voicemail doesn't work at all

You need to either flash back to a sense rom, verify that it works, like have someone call you and leave a message, then use titanium to backup the app and data, flash back to The Destroyer rom, restore the app and data, NOT system settings, or use google voice or a third party carrier.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I used to flash my old htc's with wm 6 and wanted to know what steps I would need to take in order to put the new warm on my inc?

I still remember my old XV6900
Its completely different now then it was in the good ol RUU windows rom days, now you download the rom and put it on your SD, do a Full wipe then flash
1. Make sure your rooted with a Custom Recovery (IE Clockworkmod Recovery)
2. Boot into Recovery and do a Nandroid backup just incase things go horribly wrong.
3. Do a full wipe*: Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, and Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Flash your rom from your Sd (IE Install Zip in CW)
5. Reboot
*It's usually recommended to do a Full Wipe when flashing between different roms, but if flashing to a new version of the same rom I would go with whatever the Dev advises,
Awesome! Thanks for the update!

[Q] newb doubt about radios

Do I have to wipe both caches be4 updating to the new radios? Also, can I flash the radios to any Rom? Sorry I've never flashed radios be4

Yes, just backup before hand, wipe the cache and dalvik cache, then flash your radio; you can also flash any radio on any rom.

Yes, it is recommended to wipe both cache and dalvik before flashing a Radio. It is also recommended to reflash the kernel after flashing the radios. When I flash radios, I nandriod my CM7 setup, full wipe, flash radios, flash sense, update prl, update profile, and then restore CM7 nandriod.
from sense ROM: nandroid, wipe caches, flash radios, restore nandroid, update prl, update profile.

Be sure to not pull the battery when you reboot after the flash. The screen you'll see is normal, it's not an error. Pulling the battery will permanently brick your phone.

My suggestion:
Back up.
Download all radios. Check my sig for a link.
Wipe cache and dalvik.
Flash radio. Reboot. (All reboots will take you back into recovery)
Update Wimax. Reboot.
Update PRI. Reboot.
Update NV. Reboot.
Flash a rooted Sense ROM, based on the Evo (this disqualifies MikG, Director's Cut, Synergy and other Sense 2.1 ROMs, because those are based on the Evo Shift (I've had issues with Shift-based ROMs not reprovisioning data). Update PRL. Reboot.
Go into EPST (Dial ##3282#, Choose edit mode), enter your MSL code (download and use MSL Reader from the Market to get it), Data Profile, hit the menu button and choose restore. Just sit there, your phone will reboot and everything will go back to default. Let it reprovision, but when it says "Updating PRL" hit cancel.
Wipe everything in recovery three times, flash ROM of your choice. Personally I always do fresh installs, you can use Titanium Backup or nandroid I guess. I just like a fresh start sometimes.
what does restoring through epst do that setting everything to factory def not do?
thanks...

EPST deals with the cellular data and connection. What I described reprovisions your phone on the network, usually for better data speeds. Factory reset deletes all caches and downloaded apps.

CM10/AOKP boot loop

I rooted my I747 using the process here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Once rooted, I made a nandroid backup.
I booted into Clockwork recovery mode, and performed these steps:
1. Wipe factory reset
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe Dalvik cache
4. Format /system
5. Flashed ROM (install from zip)
6. Flashed GAPP
7. Restore/advance restore data
8. Reboot
After rebooting, the phone hangs on the splash screen. I've tried both the latest AOKP build and CM10 preview. I was able to restore my original backup.
I've checked numerous threads without any luck.
Don't do #7 and it should work.
Restoring data only works when flashing between similar roms. Aosp to aosp or touchwiz to touchwiz

Who told you to advance restore data?

That did it, but thanks. I was following the ROM and App tutorial in 10 minutes.
