Remove synchronised contacts from outlook

I want to remove already synchronized contacts in Microsoft outlook. The reason is i have some old contacts already syncd and everytime i sync my mobile all contacts comes back...

delete these hilight hidden files, in this location.
C:\Documents and Settings\SPK\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

I may not be understaning you correctly but when I want to delete all my contacts or emails, I go into ActiveSync on the phone in "Options" and deselect the contacts. Or you can delete the partnership I believe. But I know If I uncheck the contacts, email, tasks folders, ect, it will give me a notice that it will delete all these items from the device.

These two files is outlook database. If you want to clear all data base in outlook by delete these two files. After deleted the outlook in computer going to fresh clean from any database. Now you can sync data to outlook again with out double contact or appointment problems. Becareful to backup the phone database before sync. These two files can be backup to another place, it's better move to another folder than delete it.
Sorry that I cannot remove only contact from outlook.

so from what i understand you hooked up your fone 2 ur comp n the contacts from your phone got updated in outlook right?
if thats the case go to your contacts in outlook there will be an option called journal.in that whichever contact has a box in the journal contact is the ones that were addd through your phone.
click on the title journal so the all are together ,tick on whichever you dont want and then delete!!!

I guess.. all of u got bit confused.. sorry if its because of me.
Let me explain u again.
- when 1st time we sync phone with PC, all phone contacts gets copied to outlook
- now, i added some contacts from my sim contact. this is because i was not using phone book, in some of the customize i cud see SIM contacts directly, so i did not selected contact sync option from active sync.
- So, first of all, i wanted to add these contacts in my synced contacts in putlook. which i dont know.
- Now, say i format the phone and flash some other rom which does not show SIM contacts directly. So i have to sync with outlook and get the contacts which are previously syncd. All these contacts are not the updated one, cause there has been some addition in SIM contacts last time and some removal from phone book contatcs...
ALL i want is the latest SIM contacts to get synchronised with outlook. and hence want to remove previously synced contacts from microsoft outlook.
need help

I think the only way for that is to copy your desired contacts from the sim to the phone, and remove the ones you don't want to synchronise from your phone and outlook. I don't think you can synchronise sim contacts or select/deselect some contacts. It's all or nothing.

how to copy all SIM contacts to phone?

New app request to devs: google contacts to phone

Hello,
If anyone has time and know how:
App that creates phone contacts from google contacts and merges them on the phone, makes the local contact name default.
The main option I need so much is copying google nickname field (when available) to phone first name.
Other options to consider create contacts with only nickname on the phone, or choose which google field to reassign to which phone field.
select contacts to copy (default could be bulk update)
Check for new contacts since last run.
I really hope it's not that difficult, and that other people will find such utility app useful too.

Your google contacts should sync at the first phone set up. If you want an app to manipulate the contacts from within the phone (which would also sync back to the google contacts) try the new "build a app" by google. Average Joes like you and I can create apps to do whatever we want. I made one to send quick texts to my wife with single push buttons. This app would be completely worthless to others but I find it useful.

How about this?
1. Use the Import/Export feature to export all your contacts to a vcf file (this exports phone contacts AND Google contacts, I don't know if you can export only Google contacts )
2. Use the Import/Export feature again to import all contacts into the Phone (it asks you whether you want to import all contacts into the phone or into your Google account).

You don't understand what I exactly want.
In google contacts I have about 100 friends and family members for which I have nicknames ( shorty, dad, honey etc.) I would still like to keep all the information. But on my phone I prefer to see my contacts by nickname. Also quickdial (use numbers to spell contact) in phone app using nickname.
My business contacts may stay as normal

About "where" app I can only find an app with korean description which is cryptic for me.
About vcf I imagine I could convert vcf to csv and then change the columns I need and then import, but I want an easy app for that.
About google build an app: I registered but it said I have to wait through confirmation. And I still got nothing since 3 weeks.

Well it seems that you are one of few but you could try to export you contacts, find the one with nick names and invert the first or last name with it then upload it back (if you are used to the nick names not having full name won't be a problem)

[Q] Delete default contact groups

Hi guys,
i am new right here and also with Desire HD. I just have it since 2 days.
Now, i have my first question:
I am organizing all my contact, grouped by categories, in Outlook 2003. This is working fine so far with HTC Sync and the Categories will be created as groups in my DHD:
BUT, there are still the "system default" groups like "friends", "family", and so on, which i don't need.
Now, i wanted to delete these groups, but i am not able. I only can delete my groups, created via sync.
Does anybody know how to get rid of these group?

For those how have the same issue, i just found a way.
I installed the "Contacts Group Manager" App from the Android Store, there you can delete all the useless system group folder....
Now, i am happy...;-)

Thanks, I just installed the app a few minutes ago and it did the trick. Do you know what the difference between the group "favorites" and "htc favorites" is? I have the same contacts in both groups so I'm not sure which one I need to keep. I know one of them is important because it makes the favorite contacts show up at the top of the contacts list.

It's a full contact manager/replacement altogether, I'm happy with the stock one, so I found an app that only deletes contacts and groups, it even helped me to delete the default Google contact groups, A back up is recommended anyway.

Note: You mustn't have internet connection.
1. First, make a back up of all of your contacts. Then delete all.
2. Go to Settings>Apps>All. Locate, Exchange Apps and Syncing Apps. Clear all data of each, force stop and disable.
3. Go to Settings>Account & Sync. Disable all the syncing for all of your accounts.
4. Open Setup Guide

[Q] CyanogenMod7 contact problem.

Yesterday i've upgrade my Defy to CM7 by referring this thread -

And i've found that there's no way to import contact from SIM. I've to sync it using Google which is i dont know how to use it.
Is there any way to import contact w/o using Google Acc?
And I've found out that my camera not working if I'm zoom-ing to x5.

What do you mean? Mind to teach me how? Sorry. Seriously IDK how to use Google Contact or etc2. BUT the contact that i've save before change to CM7 still there. Let say i save my friend name : Blitz. And i search it at contact "Bli", it will automatically search Blitz for me

In contacts menu, press options(the left button undeneath the screen)
Here U have to select import/export - and import form SIM
Then, go to home screen - Settings - Accounts and Sync - enable background data + auto sync, then add a Google account - this will be your main account (you even have the posibility to create a fresh one) - this will sync your contacts + e-mail + data
Once this step was set up ok, then anytime you reflash your phone, clear data, or change your phone, if you enter this account, your contacts will be there.
P.S. - ypu can even import facebook accounts - and join contacts from google + facebook - easier to have pictures for contacts.

New Outlook.com sync problems

I use outlook.com for my emails, phone book etc. Everything was fine with my contacts on my phone, I had all the small avatars for myself and all my contacts. I've got a big problem since MS updated me to their new style Outlook.com.
All my contacts Avatars have gone and I seem to have every contact in my phone from Facebook even though I have only chosen 'Outlook' in the settings. More annoyingly I have about 300 'Unnamed' contacts appear in my contacts and none of them have any info inside. I have deleted my account on the phone and resynced and it is still the same?
Has anyone come across this and any ideas how I can get my original properly synced settings back?

Did you already check in Settings > Apps > Outlook if all permissions are granted. If not, delete your Outlook account, set all permissions, re-add your account.

I'm using the outlook that is in the accounts settings and not the Outlook app itself. I've got my mail,calendar and phone numbers synchronised.
Maybe I'll install the App and give it a go that way and chose that setting in the phone app to see if that sorts it.

If you guys want to know some good email apps the type mail app works great so does blue mail I use both and they rock. They have like a 4.6 or 4.7 rating not many apps get praises like that. Just thought I would mention that as I think the outlook app has a lot to be desired.

Thanks for that but it's not the email I have problems with it's the Outlook account sync problems that give me hundreds of false empty entries in my people phone book when I sync to Outlook.com. They are obviously not in there so I don't know where they are coming from. It has only happened since MS updated me to their new Outlook.com style of page.

Oh I had that issue on Tuesday with the outlook servers using Thunderbird email software I had to force close a couple times now seems to be fine all day Wednesday yesterday and still going fine.
