I noticed mine is very slow and bad when trying to scroll vertically.
When I'm in the icons screen. I can scroll left to right between the four icons very fast and easy.
But when trying vertically, it's slow as hell, I gotta hold my thumb a little harder. It just isn't as smooth.
EDIT:
Uploaded a video of my iPAQ Data Messenger to show you how smooth I can scroll with the optical trackpad on it. My Desire does nothing even as close as that!

Sorry, didn't see that thread. Can a mod close/delete this topic for me?

I am sure maybe many of you have heard of or used the today launcher called Active UI from V2R http://www.v2r.ag/ And those who did probably said its not so great or not so useful compared to other things out there. But with all things considered there was something I noticed when using active UI with the round animation pack(which is free) Using your thumb to click it activates it, now when its in its active state drag your thumb down and it will close it, drag your thumb left left or right and it will scroll left or right. Select any tree item and then drag your thumb up or down and that will scroll up or down. So that is three different distinct dragging motions in one program, one closes, one scrolls sideways, one scrolls up and down.
Why bring this up? With all the talk etc about touchflow and how it couldnt work on hermes different lcd panel etc(and most recently stated just a driver issue) Here is a program thats already using three different drag motions. Just thought I would share it for those who didnt already know. The round animations are really not too shabby, the only problem I have is that it shrinks itself down, which many may like, but it is very slow to open to its fully round state, if it were instant, or just full round state constantly I think it would be much better.
Try it yourself and see, basic is free.

OK on some web pages, I get a blue flickery bar on either side. It happens when scrolling up or down if my finger swipe goes off to a side a bit,or if I swipe to the side on a page that doesn't scroll sideways. I can actually push right or left and hold it if I want. I relize my explanation sounded pretty dumb but that's all I got....and it happens not on every page. My noob.guess is its a certain type of page that causes it
Is this the LCD issue they talk about?
Will they fix this?

This is the overscroll glow, if you go to the end of a page, instead of going too far, it will just glow, to let you know you've reached the end of the page.
LOL It's called glow. It's an animation. You're fine

I find the overscroll bugged on the browser Samsung uses though ... like if I am not even at the end of a page, the SIDE of the browser will start glowing when the page is formatted to fit the mobile screen. I wish there was a way to disable it because it's annoying to have that each time you try and scroll down.
Exactly. Only on Samsung browser. MIRREN no problem. Can I freeze Samsung browser?
yes, it is safe to freeze it
and it's not Samsung Browser, that is the stock Android browser
Hey all, just got my S3. Have been living on a G2 for a full 2 years. Had no issues, didnt see a need to upgrade. But I finally did.
I do a lot of news browsing on my fone, part of my job, i was able to double tap the text portion and my G2 would center and fit to screen just the text of the articles. Havent been able to figure out that on my S3. Is it even possible or do i just have to try and zoom and landscape view everything?
Another quick question, quick closing web page currently viewing. Say I was reading an article on one webpage and another window had say um er porn, how would i quick close the porn and go back to the article. (girlfriend is a quiet walker)
I use xscope browser, swipe to the side and the screen changes to your other open page and dbl tap zoom works.

Regarding the text resize issue, the default browser should have that functionality. Check that settings > advanced > auto fit is enabled. If I was worried about hiding pr0n fast I would just hit home and open something random. It'd be like to key presses. I'm guessing switching tabs would have to be the same or more.

but that does not explain the pants around the ankles....
Stock browser has a reading mode. On a lot of sites press the green R in the address bar. Not quite the same but can be nice to use.

This made me chuckle.
Why not just hit the home button ?
Is it really more believable to be going at it to an article about stool softener, solar panels, or Obama than your homescreen ? Homescreen's probably less awkward than Obama, man, unless your girlfriend is into that.
Also, browsers have tabs. Just switch tab ? Delineate browser usage by function ?
Or just look at porn together or something that way you don't have to hide it. :good:
Thanks guys, the autofit actually helped a lot.
"checking for hemoroids" is a good excuse for the pants around the ankles. Has worked for me.
So I always have my gs3 and ipad handy at night and like to browse the forums. My ipad has a nifty ability of touching the status bar to automatically scroll to the top of the page when I'm finished. On my gs3 it can be a pita racing to the top. I have anxiety and insomnia so I like things to be as quick and efficient as possible. With all these needless fillers said, do we have this ability on our phones, is there a mod we can use?
There's double tap to top of list but unfortunately I've only seen that work in contacts.. Doesn't seem to work with the xda app. Go to motion settings and enable it and see what it works with.
Thanks for the reply. I only tried chrome and stock browser but nada. I did find a neat litte shortcut wheel with a nice array of option sets per section in settings>labs. Maybe I can drop a suggestion to add scroll to the top, but to where
I seen on google, there was this guy having trouble writing a code over the summer but he never mentioned if he ever completed it.
Scroll with your finger on the far far right of the screen. It activates a fast scrolling option. I do it by accident all the time and have to find where I was on the page before that.
it's driving we mad, sometime when I try to scroll chrome starts to zoom instead.
anyone getting this behavior ?

I sometimes experience something similar in ezPDF reader. I zoom around in a document, and once it is in zooming mode, I can zoom with one finger. Maybe this is related.
Meaning, if you just zoomed around, take a quick stop before scrolling. Maybe this works.
I'm not sure, can one activate zooming by double tapping? This would explain a bit more.

interesting, looks like double tapping activates zoom and looks like sometimes zoom is registered as double tapping ...

I've got to try this once I get home from work. Curious if this is a feature instead of a bug
Just did a quick search in google and found multiple results stating the following for chrom (beta?):
To perform a one-hand zoom simply double tap and, after the second tap, leave your finger pressed. You can then move your finger up and down to zoom in an out.
So it's a feature.

Well, it depends. I tried yesterday night. I zoomed into web pages one fingered (on purpose), and I must say, it has something going for it. Gotta see if I like this feature on a daily basis.
Certainly, if you know about it and use it on purpose it's at least much better than stumbling over it thinking it could be a bug
