Frustrated with Qik - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody! Thanks for taking the time to read this and help.
I am having trouble with Qik. Whenever I call someone using Qik, I can see the streaming video just fine. The person on the other end can see me just fine, and hear me just fine. However, my phone has no sound when Qik is up. This problem occurs on all connection types, 4g, WiFi, etc.
My Evo is 100% stock, no modifications, and on the most current firmware. Since you cannot uninstall and reinstall Qik, the most I have done is clear the data using the Applications tab in Settings.
Thanks again
Chris

Do you have the same problem if someone calls you?
The person on the receiving end has to press a TALK button to activate their mic.

Not recieving calls

I am running ricky's newest rom and I have noticed that sometimes people cannot call me on my phone but my phone is otherwise working fine. It isn't frozen or anything, people just call and it goes straight to voicemail. If I do a soft reset then it works fine again. anyone had this issue before?
Not sure if what I am about to say is the actual answer, but I do know that if I am on a call and my phone needs to use the internet, it cannot connect to the net, so I would imagine, if you are linked to something online that is running on your phone, it might send your callers to voicemail, since you cannot connect to a line.
Even if you think all of your apps are closed, check in celetask to see if any apps that may require internet are running in the background. Don't know if this is the answer for 100%, but is definitely the direction I would start in. Hope this helps.

Incoming calls not coming though via Google Voice

I have been using GV for a while and had not problems until this week. My phone has been unusually quiet. Turns out that I am not receiving my incoming calls at all. I only figured this out because I was getting GV vmail notifications but there were no missed calls in my call log.
Has anyone else had this problem/ Does anyone know of a fix?
Thanks!!!!!
I think that you need to go to the google voice page and have it forwarded to your phone.

Thanks for the reply Ruben but I already have it forward to phone. Until this last week. I can get GV to forward to home, work, etc.... It just does not want to forward/work on my cell. I have had the DI since launch date and it fx well till now.
I though that maybe it was b/c I rooted but then I removed/reverted to back to stock and still no luck. My wife and brother have the same issue.... ODD
If you make a call outbound, does the caller id on the receiver's phone have your GV number? IE: Does it GV work outbound but not inbound?
Have you tried to un-forward and then re-forward the GV?
All outbound calls work. Also when making an out bound call it will display my GV #in the caller id. I have tried un forwarding and then re-forwarding. I've even hard reseted the phone. uninstalled the app and tried to see if I can receive calls. Reinstalled the app, changed settings to ask b4 making calls, deleted my phone from GV and re-added it. So far no luck.
I am getting the same problem. No incoming calls, but can do outgoing calls.
Running an unrooted N1 with FRF91
Just tested with my DInc by calling via GV to GV of my friend's DInc, still working for us.
Unrooted Incredible
GV is still a bit of a work in progress. I have had some minor trouble with it in the past. Sometimes you need to reset your settings or just wait it out if its an issues with their servers. For the most part it has been problem free.

True... I had it when it was Grand Central....until now I have had an flawless experience with GV. Seems like once they transitioned from invitations their servers became bogged down.

[Q] random call question

afternoon, and all apologies if this has been answered previously, but i couldnt find any thread similar to my issue. the issue is this... since rooting my evo, no matter the rom, cyanogen or fresh, when i receive a call and decline it, it rings again. so just to be clear, someone calls, i hit decline, then i get another phone call w/i seconds and then i have to hit decline again. granted its a minor annoyance, but still its rather irritating from time to time. also, it happens if i just let the call go to voicemail and dont hit decline. i am using google voice, as i havent been able to get sprints visual voicemail to work as of yet. not sure if that matters or not? i have gone through the google voice settings and everything seems ok, at least to me. any guidance would be appreciated.

Not Receiving Incoming Calls

So for some reason, my Evo just stopped receiving incoming calls. I can make calls fine, but when someone calls me, my phone doesn't ring. I tried using my land line to call my phone and it rings 4-5 times and goes to voicemail. However, the phone never rings at all. I'm not sure what the problem can be and how to resolve this issue. This just started happening today.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
edit:sorry

Thanks for the suggestion.
I called sprint and got it fixed. Had to restore everything by doing ##3282# and entering MSL and restoring the data profile.
Are you on 3G only? I've had similar problems. I think what happens is that the phone gives priority to certain data activity (like account syncs) over voice (and SMS). And depending on what you're syncing and what kind of speeds you're getting then it could block you from getting calls for several minutes at a time. I use the hotspot a lot and I basically can't receive calls or SMS when I'm on 3G using the hotspot.
Try turning off all account syncing stuff (or go on wifi) and then try calling your phone. See if the calls go through. That's not a fix, really. Just a way to figure out what the problem is.
If this is your problem then one kind of lame work around is to go to Settings->Call and switch the voicemail provider over to google voice. This way your calls will automatically roll over to google voice and from there you can set it up to fwd calls to either your landline or gchat or something. Also, you'll at least get missed call notifications. I haven't figured out a way to handle SMS though. I routinely get them delayed by at least 10 minutes. I've just been telling people to text me on google voice. But that's a pain.

Random issues with outgoing and incoming calls.

Hello everyone,
I'm a new user of the G7 ThinQ, I live in France and have a fully unlimited plan with the operator "Free".
I bought a LG G7 ThinQ recently (model G710N) and it works good but I have an issue with calls.
Outgoing calls sometimes work fine, sometimes make me wait for around a minute then fail, and sometimes make me wait around a minute then work.
Incoming calls sometimes work fine, sometimes make the caller wait for around a minute, then get to my voicemail...
I searched the web about this issue and found an answer about disabling the Google app.
I disabled the Google app then made test calls (calling 2 contacts around 5 times each, then made them call me around 5 times each as well).
The test calls all worked fine, so I thought the issue was finally solved...
But then, back in real situation outgoing or incoming calls, the issue was back, while Google app is still disabled.
On a video, someone also disabled Chrome app, so, I did it too, but I don't know if it had any result yet.
Did anyone also have this issue ?
Any other trick to try ?
Thank you by advance.
Hello. If you have a ""refurbished"" phone bought from ebay/aliexpress, then you're not in luck. There's no problem with the google apps. The phone is mashed together with parts from different phones, different revisions, and those parts are not new. Especially the G710N, is very picky on carrier frequencies, and will randomly drop calls. You can try to flash an original rom, a korean one and see how it goes.
