View saved passwords? - Desire General

Is it possible to view the passwords my browser has saved at all? Using Cyanogen 6 and the default browser.

I would like to know this too as I have saved an incorrect password once and now can't overwrite this even when typing the correct one despite clearing all browser items such as cache, history etc

Same problem here

have you tried using the clear saved passwords option in settings in the browser if that dosent work you could try finding the browser in the applications list in settings and clearing the data

I had tried the options within the browser settings but hadn't tried via applications but after doing this and restarting the phone the browser doesn't ask me to save the password for this site at all now - arghhhhh!
Thanks for reply btw

Sure sorry about that.
Instead of making a backup with the browser (which is encrypted) I made a backup through titanium and uploaded it to my pc.
And then look for webview.db file.
Opened it with notepad.
A sqlite viewer didn't show anything.
And I knew when I had found what I was looking for.
Hope it helps somebody in the future.

I know this is an old thread but I hope you can help me..
i've made the backup with titanium, and found the data base folder, but i can't figure how to read the content, some text editors show me the text, but the password seems to be incomplete, or not showed correctly.
any idea how can i decrypt or read de sql format?
When you are reading the file from your titanium backup file it isn't encrypted.
All I did was open it in the standard NotePad app in windows 7. Everything was kind of jumbled but I could make out what I was looking for.
If you want, sometime tomorrow evening I can get a sample screenshot for you.

Here's what I did, and all of the data came in clearly as comma separated values, with no jumbled text:
Note: you do need the full version of titanium backup to view it this way.
- Back up Dolphin in "backup/restore"
- Long press on dolphin (in titanium) until the menu comes up, and tap "explore"
- Scroll down to [DATABASE] webview.db and tap on
password
- Hit OK and choose where you want to send the data (such as email), and a file will be attached with user names and passwords next to each other separated by commas.
Hope this helps.

webview.db doesn't show my passwords
I want to view all my saved passwords in Opera Mini for Andorid.
I got the webview.db file in /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/databases/ .
However, after viewing it in SQLite database, it shows no passwords saved (see screenshot). But the username and passwords are there typed on every login pages when I use the browser.
How do I view the passwords?

Changing default HTML viewer

I get frequent HTM file attachments via email.
I think I chose the DB Viewer as my default and now I can't figure out how to change it back to the Html viewer. The htm attachment shows up as html code in a text editor now.
Anyone have any ideas?
Edit: Cleared cache on browser and download manager etc but that didnt help.
Go to the app section in settings.choose the default app.then hit reset defaults

Ahh if it were only that easy. I used to get a list of 4 choices a couple of those were DB Viewer and DB HTML viewer I think. I chose DB viewer which just displays the html in a text editor of some sort. The app isn't listed. You know how cryptic the internal system apps are; they don't show an app name, just the com.android.xxxx or something similar.

I believe he meant, the file Browser you used to choose the html file that gave you the options to choose with what program you should open it with.
Clear that App's defaults.

Gotcha. It was Kaiten email but clearing cache did not work.
However, I saved the attachment to the SD, opened it with ES File Explorer and it gave me the choices again so I'm all fixed up. Thanks for all the help.

disabling google auto-sign in in browser? (Jellybean)

I found some old threads about this, but the browser does not seem to have the menu options mentioned in them anymore...
I want to share my device with a parent to let them get used to it, but naturally must keep them locked away from my email and such...locking apps is easy enough, but the auto sign in option in browser I cannot find a way to disable beyond removing my account. I see in previous questions there is mention of an option for it under privacy settings in browser, but I do not see it now. I've tried all the immediately available options in settings in the old browser and chrome and see nothing. If there's a way I could disable it in either that would be sufficient!

remove your google account, re-enable it, and some options should pop up, something along the lines of "autosign in into google apps", don't check it.
at least, that's what it asks me everytime i have to factory reset and type into my account.
Didn't work for remove/readd, I'll check for option next wipe I do though and see if that'll work

You just need to sign out from the browser , next time when you'll start the browser it will not auto-sign-in again.
Ah yup that method will work for chrome. That'll give me a workable solution, thanks!

[Q] cleanup browser search history

Hi guys,
I have noticed I tend to accumulate a lot of search history when using the internet browser (stock)
I have a T-Mobile Stock (rooted) GS4 and want to find an app from the market, or anyplace,
that can clean the search history for me using one button execution.
All the "history cleaners" I have tried, say they cleaned history, but soon as I open the browser and type something the old searched items are still showing up.
I'd be most appreciative if someone could point me to the solution other than manually deleting each day of history searches!
Mahalo!
Try clean master the masterpiece according to me....

+1 to the above, and the other two previously mentioned don't do the job. Try searching for something and then close browser.
re-open browser and as soon as you touch the search line the same search item is there below!
Clean using the apps mentioned, and still they appear again... not working..... :<(
Is there anyone who knows of an app that will clean the search history?...........
Thanks tho, guys!

How about History Cleaner:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.eraser
Has a Browser history record erase option.
In addition, it has a Widget which you can setup and decide which files are cleaned:good:
I'd post a screenshot, but all of a sudden am unable to upload attachments from my S4 for some reason. Files won't attach.
The Playstore has images which show the Browser History option.
I use the app myself, in addition to a different browser which has the option to erase history when exiting.

I hear ya. Here's a partial description from tthe apps site:
"It's a history eraser for android device, and it can clean history of apps by only one tap. It's similar to the "ccleaner" on PC. It can help you to protect your privacy, and it can also help you to free up the internal storage. No root premission required!
Feature:
★Clear Browser History
★Clear Call Log
★Clear text messages
★Clear Market Search............"
Maybe if you contact the Developer, he can explain or offer a solution as to why the Browser History isn't being erased, even though the description describes this as a feature.

I tryed to change:
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Storage/Clear cashe
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Storage/Clear data
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Permissions
Settings/Apps/Messaging/Force stop
I also tried:
Settings/Reset app preferences/Reset
And change everything in:
Messaging/Settings/Reset settings
Messaging/Settings/Text messages
Messaging/Settings/General settings
but still no work!
I dont find "Premium messages" anywhere.
Maybe it's a setting in your carrier settings? Do you have an app placed on your phone by your SIM card?

I said to look for the Setting in all the apps I listed, not to start clearing the cache.
The setting on Android 7.1.1 can be found in the Special Access settings for apps from the Settings menu.
So it's setup as a permission, as opposed to app setting, as was in previous versions of Android.
Just type SMS in the search of the app.

Yes in Android 6.0 the setting is in a different place but it is still somewhere around.
Just type SMS in the search field of the Settings app.
There is no point in reinstalling the app, you already cleared your cache which means there is a setting saved somewhere that is overriding the behaviour, reinstalling the app won't help in that case as said setting will still be there.

Sorry for the late answer. Seems like my memories of Android 6.0 are hazy and the menu is somewhere else as I mentioned.
Seems like quite a few people can't find it since the Setting is burried deeper than usual: https://www.google.bg/search?q=andr...ndroid-google&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
This links in particular seems to hold a good answer:

Message services - there's a permissions section

Are you asking about Android 7.0?
Settings -> Apps -> Click the gear icon -> Special Access (it's under the Advanced tab at the bottom, not in App Permissions) -> Premium SMS Access
