I just bought the mytouch 3g slide from t-mobile 2 weeks ago and i did not do any kind of upgrades (aka flashing, rooting, whatever), i dont even know how. But my phone froze and I rebooted it and now getting stuck on the first mytouch splash screen, i read other posts that said to try the fastboot, but no one has explained how u do that? Please help!
Does no one have a solution?
I would take it back and exchange it.

Ok I just got my EVO working on Sprint....again.
I got my evo and how happy I was to get it working, I was happy when it worked with 3g internet - the sleepless night and whole day paid off. But I was not content, so I tried to root it. I did and without slowing down I put Fresh 3.2 rom on it.
booom! no 3g no internet lots of frustration. i tried every possible rom I could get on it but no success. finally I got the WWE SPRINT rom from from shipped-roms flashed it - btw you have to get into bootloader, hold down vol down and then fastboot-> bootloader->then start RUU.
SO now I'm with Sprint soft, and after reseting in ##786# and phone reactivated and then I tried update profile-> it went on forever until it failed with 1012. I was getting ready to call Sprint CS, but went it to ##3282# just to check - and wow - suddenly 3g appears. Dont know why, it is magic but I am happy.
If anybody has some insights on what happened to me and more importantly why ? I would really like to know more about how root / custom rom makes evo not connect to internet, perhaps some one with insight knowledge of Sprint CS / and provisioning and how vision passwords work could chime in?
First off you want to make sure you post this in the Q&A forum. Next off I'm assuming since this EVO was a bad ESN and you got it working on a SERO you cloned another ESN. If that's the case I'm not thinking you're going to get much help here, and I wouldn't post that in a public forum. If not you need to give more information on how you got a Bad EVO esn activated on a SERO plan which doesn't take EVO's yet.
Hey, I edited my post. Sorry for the typos. If I;m in a wrong forum - Mods- please move, its my first post - so I apologize.
Hello everyone. I have this pesky problem on my hands: my wife is out-of town and her phone (G2) can't seem to connect to any network.
Here's the run-down: it definitely feels like a problem with people that unlocked their phones via unlock code (all the symptoms are the same: gray bars, no voice/data, can't search for operators) but we've never unlocked that phone that way. Phone was upgraded to 2.2.1 (first T-mo OTA), she ran stock for a while and, later I rooted with gfree (-f, S-OFF, CID unlock, SIM unlock, engineering bootloader) and flashed CM7 nightly (build 20? it was a while ago). She went to Israel and used local SIM there with no problem but, upon arrival, her phone will not work with T-mobile SIM, the original one that she had for 2-3 years now.
Does that sound familiar to anyone? Can anyone suggest simple troubleshooting that I can walk her through over the phone? She is not techy by any means, we have already tried reboot, airplane mode cycle, taking out and cleaning SIM.
Search does not quite find anything like our situation.... everything that I found is related to older problems, before gfree method.
If anyone knows technical way of correcting this - feel free to point me in the right direction as well, she'll be back in couple of days and I'll take a stab at it then.
Thank you in advance.
Ive been using the virtous fusion rom, overclocked the rom to about 1.2 the highest. Cat, dropped the phone last night. worked afterwards. this morning the phone screen wouldnt turn on. charged the phone to max, took out the batt a million times. nothing. seen the actual screen maybe twice from doing the above things. dont know what to do. currently in DR.
Same problem as this one?

Yes exactly same problem, without the whole part of that user sending his phone back to htc, and wanting to brick his phone. I want to get it fixed. thought maybe i did something wrong by overclocking it. I dont know and I paid too much for this phone to just throw it away. Im in dr, without a tmobile plan, and calling htc or tmobile is out of the question because I live in DR, and brought this phone off craigslist. Avid xda-dev reader. willing to do everything to fix my phone back to how it was!
lol just realized you where the one who had the problem. what did you end up doing?
Warranty the bugger or send it to a phone repair store.
IM IN SCHOOL IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, just gave the phone to a dominican phone repair shop, told me to come back in the morning, dont expect them to fix it tho
WOW, i have the same problem. Please some1 help!!
First off being in DR or anywhere else, reguardless of where you purchased it, its still technically under htc warrently. The reason is the phone has not been out for over a year, so all they are all still under warrently. Just call htc and say you bought it cash at tmobile store when it came out in usa, and have since moved to DR. They will have you send it to be replaced.
Before you send it in, follow my post here to unroot:

If you don't want to do that and fix it yourself your going to need a new LCD screen, not digitizer.
Goodluck, let me know how it goes.
I bought an EVO 4G last night from craigslist that was supposedly flashed to boost.
After many hours I have managed to figure out the IMEI they used and got it working. Problem is the IMEI they used only gives me talk and text.
What I am trying to do at this point is get the original MEID back on the phone so I can switch to Page Plus.
That or change the MEID to that of a prevail or zte warp sequent that I have.
Either way I need at least 3g speeds so I can use my laptop through the phone when Im out. Otherwise Im stuck at home all the time so I can do my job.
Please let me know if you can help. THanks.
I tried zeroing it with revskills but apparently I didnt know how to do it right or something. It gave me an error and never worked.
Hello I bought an M9 in a local online store. When I received it today it was already opened! When I checked it is already in Marshmallow with 3.41.651.4. A quick google search says this software is from Sprint? But I bought I bought an international unlocked model.
So I checked the bootloader and it was locked, but already S-OFF! I then went to recovery and to my surprise TWRP booted. Also going to recovery I get this black splash screen with HTC logo on it. Is this normal? All the videos I watch entering the recovery they get white splash screen with green HTC logo.
Also the reboot menu is different. I have attached some images.
I also can not get 4G signal with it! will this work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-...vices-t3135401 I think since Sprint ROM was initially loaded maybe I am having different baseband/modem? When I set it up it asked me to contact Sprint customer service?
Anyway I have successfully unlocked the bootloader, with this is fake?
Thanks!
That doesn't sound like a new phone to me. Probably used.
Unlikely to be fake based on the bootloader screen. You almost certainly got a refurb being passed off as new.
I agree, used.
Htc black logo isn't normal if not being flashed or reset.
Return it as previously opened or second hand device. open a dispute as a last resort but don't leave it more than 24hrs for the sellers reply as you need to claim before they do.

Hi guys just a question is they a way of been able to tell if it's new or refurb like a code with the info etc as I think I've been given a refurb instead of new from the repairs centre
No way to tell other than physical damage or "unexpected software discrepancies".
