Please help (wont Charge or connect to pc)

So my girlfriend just got her white evo yesterday and so I tried rooting it the same way i did mine through toast ....but it couldnt find files on the sd card so I didnt get to finish and once it booted back up the phone wouldnt read the sd card and wouldnt connect to the pc so i use the same method I used when My evo did the same thing using the Calkulin guide ..and got the phone to read the sd card but when it came to the second part ..nothing happened and it couldnt find the files again and now it wont charge unless the phone is off ..I tried re-rooting it but still get stuck after the p>>36 update.. ..but it wont help ..please help

Does she have the latest OTA update?
You could download it in update.zip format, put it on her SD card, and use it to bring her back to stock.
From there you can use the new root method (or SimpleRoot2) to get root and put roms on it.

2 questions 1. do you think it will fix the non-charging and computer connetion problem ? and 2. will ii be able to run damage's lastest Rom with rooting it that way? and thanks again for the help

Yes it should fix your problems unless its hardware issues. But more than likely its software.
And 2 yes, you can still use the dc 3.2.3 Rom.

I cant bring her phone back to stock because the computer wont see the phone ..and ive tried using that methond for the computer to find it but it dosent work .....so is there another way to ether bring the phone back to stock without connecting it to the computer ..or another way to make the computer connect to the phone ?

SD / micro SD card reader?
You can use a media / card reader, or you could swap your microSD card from her phone with yours and move the files to it that way. Once you get it flashed back to stock you should be able to connect via computer again. Good luck!

but how to i return it to stock from the memory card ..how do I update it back

Ive tried letting it search for the update on the which screen and it dosent find it and Ive tried to update it through the blue recovery screen both dont work

[Q] HELP!!Stuck at boot screen.HTC EVO 4G

O.K., to make a long story short..... I thought I had completely bricked my evo, so I went and paid cash for another one.... I plugged that phone into a charger, and it fried my phone.. I went back to the one I thought i had completely Bricked, only to find, it is stuck in HTC's white boot screen, i go into recovery and it goes to clockwork.....I have tried doing backup and restore, wiping data and cache... Still no luck. On top of that, I cant get write permissions, and this computer wont find sd card, when I put it in computer. On a good note, I can connect to Pc and it recognizes phone (Android Bootloader Interface) I have no idea where to go from here. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

First flash the unrevoked s-on tool in recovery, scroll down to Q&A.

Download, rename to PC36IMG, place on your sdcard by some means, then run the RUU. Then you can re-root.

You can try the sdcard fix, or reformatting it to start with.

Ok, I finally figured out what was going on with write permissions, I have that solved,now,another curveball..... I mean, I "thought" I had done enough research on rooting, but, it is Kinda like me expecting to take a crash course in metallurgy, and taking a vacation and telling them,"It's all yours".Anyway,with that said, How do I tell if my battery is really dead and gone, or is there a way to check that also..... Your help is greatly appreciated....... I will read more forums and be as aware as possible!!!!

Well I am glad you got it fixed. The only way to really tell is that if you leave on the charger for houra and it doesn't charge. Or if it was fully charged, placed in another phone and doesn't turn on. Also, the charging led wouldn't turn on.

If you have other EVO place files on sd card using that other phone. You can test your battery on that one too.

USB Issues

I was running Leedroid on my Desire and all was fine.
I seen these Sense 2.1+3.0 ROMS and decided to give one a go.
I tried to get into recovery before doing anything to take a NAND Backup, but it just refused to go into recovery. I finally got it in there and tried to apply to update.zip but it kept saying something could not be found, I forgot what, and failed after 10 tries.
I booted mu phone up and I'd lost all my data. It's like the phone had been wiped.
I tried reseating the SD Card and checking it was all ok, but then I got stuck in a bootloop. In the mean time, my Alienware Laptop decided to die, followed by my backup Dell laptop! lol
I messed around for ages trying to get various things to work, but couldn't do it. In the end, I downloaded the old root method and flashed Cyanomod 7 which seemed to work and I got it booted, but I couldn't mount the SD card and it would rarely pick up that the USB was connected.
I then flashed AceSMod007 which also seemed to go well minus 2 things.
The first, Text messages seem to show my contacts picture, but also it only shows their Number rather than the contact name. This is VERY annoying and I can't find a way to resolve it.
The second issue, and possibly the most worrying is that it won't pick up USB connection AT ALL. This includes when it's plugged into the Wall to charge.
I tried the USB Brick fix, but that didn't work at all.
I shutdown the phone, removed the battery, plugged in the charger, inserted the battery and booted up the phone and it started charging, but as soon as I unplugged the charger and put it in again, same problem.
I'm currently trying another ROM to see if that resolves the issue, but I suspect that it won't tbh.
Has anyone came across this before and/or knows how to fix it?
Other things I've tried:
Wiping all data, cache and Battery data.
Using different USB cables

UPDATE:
Flashing a different ROM didn't seem to resolve it.

Quick update.
I flashed Insertcoin rom onto the phone and it's resolved my text message issue.
Also, when I plugged the phone into the PC, it didn't give me any options for mount SD or anything like that, but said it was charging. However, an hour later and the battery had only gone down.
Since charging by USB has always been slow for me, I plugged in into the wall socket for an hour but it wouldn't pick up that I'd plugged it in. I turned the phone off and I got the LED to say it's charging.
Left it, then booted it up and still has the same battery level.
I don't expect it's the battery otherwise it would pick up fine when plugging into the PC.

Cheers mate, but as I mentioned, I've tried the USB Brick fix a couple of times and still experiencing the same issues.

Can you switch on blue tooth? Does it stay on?

Actually, no. Its says Turning On... Then just goes back to off.

you DO have USB-Brick
you gotta fix it
if S-OFF do:
fastboot oem enable qxdm 0
fastboot oem eraseconfig
if S-ON there are a few threads on xda on how-to do it, if you still get no USB-connectivity you just didnt do it right

I'd already followed the USB Brick guide and it didn't help.
Now, is I were to have missed the step that says to run '/data/flash_image misc /data/mtd0.img', I'd be a bit of a tit.
So let's just say that I tried the guide again and now I have full USB functionality back
I was going to S-OFF my phone, but I'll hopefully get a Sensation soon and I don't want to fubar anything in the mean time.

soft bricked sprint s3 ongoing

hello guys its been awhile since i been here and messed around and im getting back into this again and i want to tackle a phone that just wont give in so here it is. it bricked during a over night update some kind of way.it was giving to me because i fixed one before for my cusin so he figured it would work. i tried odin everything possable but no luck and i gave up on it about 2years ago..OK i can get it in odin mode but thats it.no recovery at all.i tired doing a recovery but nothing can get to the phone. all i get from odin is failed and at times no pit found with that said i have used 5comps 10 different wires and never on a hub. Kies does not connect to it at all and odin cant seem to transfer to it. i have read around and seen all types of ideas but none has worked also the phone is not rooted and i did try but no luck.is there anyway i can boot to recovery from the sd card or root from the sd card? btw odin mode does show ---- custom binarydownload: yes (2) counts ---current binary:custom.......staus: offical. any ideas or comments will be appreciated very much Thanks
