EVO Bug? GPS + phone call = reboot - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was using Google Nav on a roadtrip last week and I tried making a phone call. Now once the phone downloads all the maps over the data connection (which it already had), there's no reason you can't run GPS and voice at the same time. I do it on my wife's Motorola Droid all the time and never have an issue.
What happened with the EVO was strange. I understand that if voice and data try working at the same time it will cause an error and they won't work, but in this particular case, my phone rebooted itself.
I thought it was a one time thing, so I tried it a bunch more times and found that each time, it rebooted. Sometimes it took a minute, sometimes a few, but it always happened.
I am running stock 1.32.651.6 (not updating/flashing till CM6 comes out) with unrevoked (so I can use wireless tether).
Can anyone else test to see if they encounter the same problem?

I've had VZW Moto Droid and I now have the Sprint EVO and I can talk while the Google navigation is going. I know its still on because the NAV lady blast her voice while I'm talking.

not that you mention it, I remember this happened to me once couple of days ago. I was like WTH? my EVO never rebooted itself, that was the first time
since then I do not think I used the GPS while on a call so I will try it again and see what happens

i have not had this issue.

I've had this issue twice, only two times the phone has ever rebooted on me.
Both times I had pandora (or last.fm) playing in the background, navigation actively running, and then the phone would ring.. within the first 30 seconds of trying to take the call the phone rebooted itself

Yes Evo + GPS + Phone call + Unrevoked = REBOOT !
I have consistently experienced this problem and think UNREVOKED is possibly the culprit. I will attempt to UN-unrevoke my phone and see if GPS + Phonecall = Reboot or if it's only with UNREVOKED installed. I have experienced this reboot on at least 5 occassions while incall and driving.

HTC Touch Pro 2 & Standby of Death SOD

I had the Standby of Death SOD this is when the phone fails to come out of standby with a power button press. This issue only affects some people on some networks. I'm not sure if its a network problem or a software problem but as only a minority of people have it, I suspect its mainly a network problem there is a software solution.
The solution is to change the phone settings band option from auto 3G/2G to either 3G Only (WCDMA + UTMS 2100 in Europe) or 2G Only (GSM + AUTO) depending on your requirements.
Also read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540943&highlight=standby&page=2 where the resolution was to get a new SIM.
Obviously this only solves the problem when the crash is because of the sim and/or settings which impact the sim. To rule out a software cause its best to start with a hard reset.
had this problem once: I switched on the camera, and then left the device on the table for a long time - so it went to standby.
I could not wake it up by the power button after 20 minutes, but as an incoming call came, it was ringing with a black display, and I could answer the call with my BT headset. screen was still pure black
finally I pushed the reset button and since then everything is fine - I still feel this was connected to the camera.

Yeah if it only happened the once then that was probably the case, if you have the problem on a regular basis and you know its nothing to do with the camera (becuase you never loaded it) then you have the problem I am describing.
I have exactly the same problem has Terta.
I'm 100% sur that it's the camera that make this bug I have tried all my weekend to reproduce the bug a lot of time and it was always the camera...
Hope someone can fix this bug cause now I can't take any photo without soft-reseting my phone. Very, very, very annoying...
I messed around with the sound app SRS WOW HD for a while to get it work on TP2, with this installed, mine did exactly the same thing.
Sometimes it happened straight away (first sleep), other times it happened a day or so later.
Uninstalled, it did not happen again.
(Not the SIM or Camera for me)
Go figure!

Yes I guess there are many reasons for the Standby of Death, if you have ruled out all software causes such as the camera or installed apps then have a think about the SIM and/or the settings that impact the SIM.
Its the last thing most people will think about. It worked for me and got rid of a random SOD problem 2-3 times a week which coinceded with being in weak 3G areas (where the phone might switch bands automatically) although that never occured to me at the time.
You see I haven't installed other applications nor do I load up the camera and leave it running so I couldn't figure out what was causing it, it just happened randomly not connected with anything particular that I was doing.
i hope there is some kind of magical solution for this because i just got my Sprint TP2 today and I have this issue everytime my phone goes into standby. Pushing the power button wont bring it out but every once in a while opening the keyboard does. I have to continually reset my new phone just to use it
PS; beyond this annoyance, I love it!

Try taking out the SIM card and see if it still happens everytime the phone goes into standby...
For the past few days I have been restarting my phone thru the soft reset. I think this is a windows issue...it has happened to me even without having the camera app running, and yes I checked the task manager. Hopefully this will be fixed when windows mobile 6.5 comes out, since Im getting frustrated with this phone...I have the phone for about a month now....grrr Stand by of Death!!!

so its not just mine then? this is ridiculous
Right, i had got seriously fed up with the standby of death happending, so i decided to contact HTC Europe directly.
They went over the usual 'factory reset' and 'update' solutions before coming to the conclusion that either there is a loose connection/faulty screen or there is some confiliction between drivers of the pre-installed software.
Because all HTC phones have 2 years warrenty as standard they have asked me to send if off so they can invistigate the problem and send me a replacement.
So if anybody is in the same boat as me a suggest you contact HTC and arrange a fix/replace.
Hope this helps.

Add me to the list, seems to happen when I am charging my phone and it hits 100%
This phone reminds me of all my previous Sony Ericsson phones....very unstable OS' ... Makes me regret of getting this one and should've gotten an iPhone...but then again I'm pretty sure iPhone's have issues that apple fanboys aren't admitting. The reason that made me not get an iphone is because of ATT's ridiculous plan pricing...Its crazy!!!
if you are on sprints network, take out the sim card. This has fixed the issue for me. Used to get SOD a few times a day but opening the keyboard and then pressing the power button used to get me out of it. This was really annoying, and i read that it may be issues with the sim card. Took that out a week ago and havent had a SOD yet

Jabberoo I can verify that this was caused by the SRS WOW HD program on my touch pro 2 as well. AS SOON as I uninstalled this application, restarted, everything was fine again.
I don't know if this will help anybody but if your phone suffers from SOD and you have TMO put it in airplane mode and see if it still does it.
I did that and it never went into SOD so that lead me to believe that the radio was the culprit. before that I tried everything listed. I don't have the 3G Plan so the 3.45.25.14 (T-Mobile) radio is the only one that worked for me.
I have the same problem.. just have installed spb mobile shell with mskip ultimate. I try to unistall all
I have a question: if I choose the 3G only option (WCDMA + UTMS 2100 in Europe) and the signal strength is low there will not be an automatic switch between 3G and 2G am I right? ...and i'm offline then

Confirming this....
I had this issue for a while now...I tried hard resets, ROM flashes etc. It all works fine and was stable until I flash Sps Wow HD (I just realized this). Yesterday I flashed the latest HTC released sense ROM and right now after installing all the softwares I had the SOD again. Fortunately I saw the 2 posts and thought I will give it a try...and guess what?
I uninstalled the Srs Wow HD and phone is back to normal...no issues till now...will report later if I see any.
I am going to tmobile to get the SIM changed anyways hoping that it will fix another issue I am having. Every day I have to turn the airplane mode ON and OFF at least twice to get my data connection back. Mostly after a call and sometimes in random the phone is unable to reconnect to the data, it gives me an error that the epc.tmobile didnt respond or something like that. If any of you know how to fix this issue...plz help
I have been Experiencing this so called "SOD". HTC touch pro 2 sprint. On the 6.5.5 Build 23569 i had MAJOR sod issues. Energyrom , mighty , titanium , you name it. Ive Task 29 and reflashed them all multiple times. Still SOD was there... But i may have found a temp cure for me atleast. This is what i did....
First , i used task29 , next i reflashed the stock 6.1 rom, check for SOD... still had it... i task 29 again. Installed titanium edition , without sense. SOD was cured, phone worked fine, tryed to install sense 2.1, failed, SOD was back. Soo...
Then i task29 again, then repeated task29 a second time at the boot screen.... then i flashed Energyrom GTX themed 21907 build june 27th......Once it was flashed unplugged my USB plug and plugged it into the usb wall plug i have . Installed LUMOS, light sensor still was inactive and no response, could not brighten and still nothing... Installed G-light right after lumos without uninstalling lumos.... Still plugged into the AC wall USB plug....let it sit. Still nothing, couldnt adjust or brighten..... So i task 29 AGAIN... then flashed 21907 build GTX themed again... once flashed, unplugged it & back into wall charger... Installed lumos.... SUDDENLY!!! the sensor worked, and was accepting light AGAIN! ...
So i ran the LUMOS wizard, followed instructions and my phone was SOD FREE!! Let it sit over night, was fine....I wanted to see now if i could overwrite / flash over GTX themed with DiNiK glass cause i liked it better... so i DID NOT USE task29 this time, just reflashed over GTX themed one With DiNiK glass... same build 21907 and followed all my same steps, with wall plug, installed lumos, did the wizard,.... WALAaa.... works still like a charm. Have been using and testing it for 5 days, SOD is gone as far as i know.... ALSO in options, under setting / system / power / batt... i turned off the option to charge it when plugged into PC....Not sure if it helps or not. But Something i did is doing the trick. Seems between the backlight, and something to do with my 2.0 usb cord thats messing it up.
Seems to be cured... Still not sure exactly what fixed my phone. But between all that, IMO i believe installing lumos and glight triggered something also i think not letting it charge thru the PC, and only using a wall plug for charging has something to do with it....Either way . now its back to normal working just great... ONLY running LUMOS cab, and all the games i want. Energyrom Build 21907 DiNiK Glass Themed june 27th.... HOPE this helps!!! Have a wonderful DAY!

GPS usage crashes phone.

I applied the OTA update and every time an app tries to use GPS my phone restarts. The GPS icon blinks about 3 times then the phone turns off. I disabled GPS and still have 'find by WiFi' on and Google Maps gets pretty close. I also did a master reset and formatted my SD card. Last ditch effort I updated my PRL and profile. No dice.
Other thoughts: Amazing phone and I want 2.2.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I believe (using the GPS for 2 days with no crash) I was able to fix it by going into the bootloader [power button and volume down] and selecting "clear storage". My guess is that doing a master reset from withing the phone didn't clear everything.
Exchange your phone
I have had the same problem. A week ago monday after Sprint pushed OTA update phone worked even better than when I first purchased. For two days that was, I recieved a gmail, opened through notifications and from that moment on my phone has become a nice musical lit-up papper weight. I had a Hero before and NEVER had a crash or reboot. My Touch Pro was another story. I have done now 3 hard resets. After number two I only installed updates to Sprints bloatware(sprint nav) and google branded apps. Two days later I recieved a google-talk message and uppon opening it, it all started over again. I can reproduce this rebooting by launching any gps software with gps set to on. Sprint nav not only causes reboot but wipes credentials that you enter when you first launch app. I can launch gps programs if the GPS settings are ALL turned off(both switches). Of course I have to log into Sprint Nav again after every crash. I thought this was fixed after my last hard reset, I have not downloaded anything (no root)or installed any apps since my last reset. I just got past my 30 day but I am going to RAISE HELL later today, obvously this is unacceptable in a new phone(flagship), SPRINT and HTC were notified last week. They did take notes but they are going to try to get me to submit a claim rather than exchange. Neither Sprint or HTC seem to know shi* about this rebooting issue. Obvousily nobody checks sprint user forums. I urge anyone with crashing/rebooting to take back for exchange. Do not waste time trying to fix yourself. I fixed myself 3 times only for the random rebooting to come back within 48 hours. No 3rd party apps other than Sprint(I was afraid to download anymore). I won't even talk about the screen splitting from the base of the phone, I doubt they know anything about this issue either. So my state-of-the-art smartphone is now a 4g less, crappy 3g service, non functional gps, musical (splash screen) papperweight. This was the only phone that I have waited very impatient for and this whole experience has left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. They even screwed the launch of this device. Best Buy and Radio Shack were the only ones taking preorders and Sprint screwed the activation and provisioning up the day of launch as well. I wish I could hate this phone, I would terminate service with Sprint after this experience.
im runing OMJ 1.6 which inclues lastest OTA and and last night i opened maps it asked me to turn on gps and when i did i had constant force closes had to take the battery out to make it stop, couldnt do anything because everytime i did force close it reloaded the system but force close again.
I have had this issue since I got my phone June 5, anything that requires the gps shuts down the phone. I have been waiting for a replacement phone from Radioshack for 3 weeks. I have tried resets, updates with no luck. A local Sprint tech looked at it and told me he thought it was a hardware problem with my phone.
UPDATE
This morn I took to a Sprint repair center. After looking at the device she said that there was water damage and that the stickers had turned red. She also said she found the GPS reciever loose and soldered it back. Funny thing is is that me EVO has never been dropped or near water except for the spray that was used for my invisasheild. I was extremely careful about the aplication, in fact I screwed up because the first application wasn't wet enough. Also I have a PRO2 and Hero as well and as you prob know the batteries are interchangeable. As a result I am constantly swapping batteries because my EVO loves to kill batteries pretty quickly. I think I wold have caught the stickers turning. Also with all the problems I know I have looked to see if there was water damage. Of coure she never produced the stickers and they have now been removed. As I right this right now I am waiting for my EVO to reboot again. NOW I HAVE NO SOUND AND HAD TO HARD RESET MY PHONE! Oh and the repair person said I had too many Apps as well. I brought the phone in this morning with its default settings and apps. If there are too many apps than thats your fault not mine. I am soooo pissed about this whole experience, it's got to the point that I am actualy starting to laugh because Sprint seems so incompetent.
This afternoon I was showing my phone to a client and I launched the normal GPS apps, Google maps, Navigation, GPS Status and CarLocator. As soon as I enabled geotagging on my phone crashed/rebooted. To fix it I went to the bootloder and cleared the storage so that everything would go to stock settings. So far I haven't had a crash yet. I can handle not having geotagging as long as everything else works. Though it is a great feature to have .
Now my phone restarts even though geotagging is off. Anyone know of I can reflash my Evo though the HTC rom manager on a computer? I think putting the default rom would narrow it down to hardware or software.
I did hard-reset on Friday morning and installed all of my apps and then some, but did not install wheatherbug elite which worked fine on my Hero and worked fine on EVO for three weeks prior to Sprints OTA. So far so good, wil post results in fuure. No reboots so far and its been over 38 hours. I read on another forum that WB does not release GPS even after uninstall. Will post results in a day or two.If this is the fix by sprint/htc than give me back my phone with no updates!
???????
Ok, right after I posted my last post I recieved a phone call, durring wich the battery died. I replaced battery with a fresh one, powered on, launched sprint nav, and it rebooted. **** so much for the weatherbug idea..... After reboot I launched google maps, again reboot. I have not installed any apps since noon friday. I have played around non stop with ALL the apps and settings and have not changed anything since friday afternoon. Its 1:15 Sunday morning and nothing has changed on my phone for around 36 hours! Is this a software problem or hardware problem? Software problem means I will wait untll sprint fixes their update wich seems to me caused all this or is it a hardware issue that I need to figure some way to replace even though no EVO's can be found?
Spoke to HTC this morn, htc says that this is a known issue affecting some of their customers and that the carrier (Sprint) should have replaced it already. Even though I bought at Radio Shack. Because sprint has acted so unbelievably incompetent HTC is going to send a new unit in 4-5 days. So anyone having GPS problems and did the OTA should have their phone replaced. Those are not my words but HTC's. Also she explained that my first call for help should be HTC not Sprint. She claims she could trouble shoot better than Sprint. Also advised that Sprint tecs are worthless. I could have told her that.
Evo reboot fixed
-------SOLUTION FOUND-----------EVO REBOOT---------------GPS REBOOT-----------
Step one, call Sprint and get your msl code (unlock code).
Step two open the phone dialer and press “##GPSCLRX#
Step three input the code given to you from sprint (phone will reboot in 20 seconds)
Then launch your GPS programs and you will notice they work (at least for moment)
I will keep my codes on hand for the more than likely event that after 24 hours of use it probably will reoccur all over again.
I am on my second EVO now and I have painstaking already gone through all the hard resets and troubleshooting apps. Repair store and service calls to both Sprint and HTC as well. This is the first time I have gotten the phone to work after the GPS reboots without a hard reset.

Phone call abruptly disconnects and screen becomes unresponsive, help!

I've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but just a few minutes ago it happened 3 times in a row. Here is what happens:
I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).
The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.
This happened 3 times within 5 minutes.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?
My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.
Thanks in advance.
Have you loaded any apps? Modified the phone at all?
I've never seen this type of behaviour before.
Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't rooted it, or loaded custom time or anything. The only thing I've done is just download/install some Apps from the Android Market, that's it.
What do you all think I should do?
*bump*
I think I may have fixed the issue -- I had the Google Voice installed on my phone, and when I uninstalled it, I haven't had the problem since (it's been about 3 days).
Has anyone else experienced any stability issues or glitches using the Google Voice app?
My mom has been having this issue with her stock 2.1 Inc... She says the screen suddenly stops working and all that will work is the power button and volume rocker. Says it usually happens mid call.
PS. she doesn't have google voice. And google voice doesn't cause this issue on my Inc.
Yeah, it just happened to me again, and I don't have Google Voice installed, so that's not the culprit.
Is anyone else having this problem? Please let us know in this thread - I am going to swap the phone out tonight at my local Verizon store.
It happens to me frequently. Before and after I rooted. Let me know what Verizon does about it.

I got the phone replaced at the Verizon store a couple of days ago, and I have yet to see the problem. However, ill keep a close eye out and will post another update in the next several days.

GPS reboot issues

Hi there,
Now I've come across a few threads that mention reboot issues. However mine seem to be almost unique.
The biggest thread I came across was more along the lines of overheating.
Everything on my phone functions normally. GPRS / 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth (I think, never use it!).
First issue: GPS takes FOREVER to lock. A good ten minutes, at least. Whether I sit and wait for it to lock or just start driving. Makes no difference.
GPS eventually locks. A good 20 minutes (give or take a few minutes) in, and bang. Reboot.
My first thought was the radio. I was running the very latest one (in the radio thread). I downgraded. I tried 4 older radio's. Each previous one improving the stability. However all except the latest only keep the GPS working for around 20 minutes after locking.
This morning I flashed the oldest radio (first post of the radio thread, oldest one there).
Results in my testing on the way home are quite different. After 20ish minutes I didn't get a boot loop. NDrive went crazy, and stopped navigating. I restarted the app and the GPS refused to lock.
I had installed CatLog some time ago. In my early experimenting, I ran the logging while driving. It seemed to have prevented a reboot but instead created circumstances like above where the GPS stopped working mid-navigating.
I'm running Pays DHD Rom. When navigating its running on battery alone. Temps don't go above 35 degrees Celcius. My phone is rooted, s-off'd as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Short of un-rooting, finding a stock like 2.2 ROM and turning S-on and sending it back to the shop I bought it from, I don't know what to do
Thanks.
In my personal experience all GPS receivers loose sensitivity over time. Some go off faster other stay fine for a few years. If it takes that long for your GPS receiver to lock it is most likely caused by lost sensitivity and no ROM will fix this. The very last thing you can try is to download one of the GPS manager apps and perform a full wipe of the GPS data followed by GPS cold start. It should lock within 2 minutes. Otherwise install a stock ROM and apply for warranty repair.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Agreed. Definitely not the rom. I installed cm7 and damn its a great rom but the problem persists.
I downloaded one of those GPS apps. When soft resetting it rebooted my phone sad days.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
So I've pretty much given up.
Tomorrow its going back to where I've gotten it from.
After downloading the stock RUU (first Eclair and then Froyo. Lets just say Eclair didn't like my phone at all) and getting it on the phone, I'm finished.
The moment I turn on GPS... instant reboot!
If you ever have troubles like this, don't waste your time, just take it back!

Random reboots

Hiya folks,
Just wondering if anybody has been experiencing random reboots on the OP3. Have been experiencing em on 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 about twice a day since I got the phone four days ago. Tried a cache wipe/hard reset but to no avail. Haven't been able to reproduce the reboots. Just happen at completely random times, while writing an email, making a call, or connecting to the car Bluetooth. Phone is perfectly responsive and stable otherwise!
Have asked Amazon for a replacement, but I'm wondering if this is something that's been noticed by anybody else. No mods done, completely stock. Running dual sims (Vodafone and Jio VoLTE).
Attaching a screenshot of how the battery page shows the reboots.
Yeah, they happen for me periodically. Not nearly as often as yours though. Mine is maybe once or twice a week max. But yes, slightly annoying.
Phone is completely stock, locked, unrooted. Running 3.2.2.

Haven't had a single random reboot yet, had the phone for about a month now. Started with 3.1.3, then 3.2.1, now 3.2.2, rooted, running xposed (not a lot of modules).
What are you doing when the reboots happen (an app issue)?

It's been all over the place, but often when the screen was actually off! The way I would know would be I'd pick up the phone and see that it asks for the PIN post reboot. If it helps, I've enabled encryption. I also have a work (exchange) email account set up as a device admin
I know there's ways of investigating this with logcats and last_kmsg, but I've had the phone 4 days and I cant imagine why it's spontaneously rebooting while doing literally nothing. Seeing as hardly anybody has had similar reboots (on XDA/OnePlus forums), could this be a hardware issue at all? I could possibly try reflashing the entire phone, but that would essentially be the same as a wiping data/cache, right?
Here's an idea - my LTE data/VoLTE is extremely spotty (on Reliance Jio which is in a beta test stage) - disconnects and connects VERY frequently, could that be triggering reboots at the baseband level? Now throwing ideas at the wall!

Mine had random reboot issues recently on a trip. It only seemed to happen when I was using Google navigation combined with listening to music on my bluetooth headphones. I haven't tried that combination since the trip and haven't had any reboots since then.
Here's an idea - my LTE data/VoLTE is extremely spotty (on Reliance Jio which is in a beta test stage) - disconnects and connects VERY frequently, could that be triggering reboots at the baseband level? Now throwing ideas at the wall!
same issue
the reboots are random, and i could only know that the phone has rebooted itself if it ask for a pin upon scanning finger, went to service center and has OS flashed, but the problem still persist, for me some time when the phone hangs, some kind of pixels form on the screen, attaching a sample photo for reference, anybody experiencing this issue or am i the only one, and today the phone has completely stopped working, it is not switching on.

Wow that is substantially worrying, and almost certainly not just a software issue I reckon. Try getting a replacement maybe? - or atleast ask the service folks for a mainboard replacement. Anybody else with reboot issues?
Doesn't really seem to be an OS bug, unless it happens in very niche use cases which I don't have anyway! Getting the replacement on Tuesday, fingers crossed for that one!
My friend and I both got a one plus 3. He does not have this problem but I have.
The reboot is random but usually happens during charging. Sometimes it even turns off.
I have tried to ask for a replacement but they rejected me. Still communicating with the support staffs

I have the same issue, random reboots usually when screen is off.

I experienced a similar scenario twice, only seems to happen on long trips, 3+ hours. I was using Waze with Plex streaming audio over car Bluetooth. I have not had this on shorter trips, 1-2 hours. I'm typically plugged into the dash car charger. Otherwise, haven't had issues. Never rooted 3.2.2.
Situation Update
Got the replacement OP3 on August 9. Have now seen 2 random reboots since. Once while paired to the car Bluetooth, once after finishing a call.
I have till August 19 to decide whether to keep this device or ask for replacement number two! Overall, the reboot situation is a lot better on this device, but I can't help wonder - why any at all?
Seems at this point to either be a bug with the Bluetooth implementation AND/OR with the dual SIM functionality where repeated switching between SIMs for every call. (I use one SIM for calls and texts, another for data)
Can anyone confirm the situation on a custom ROM as opposed to stock? I'm running stock 3.2.2
Aaaaand now we have an ota claiming to fix 'auto-reboot issues' - 3.2.4
The reboots were so sparsely documented compared to the other stuff that I ended up getting a replacement for a s/w issue!
Anyway - you folks reboot free now? Post results with 3.2.4 please
I had three back to back random reboots while using Google Maps and Amazon Kindle in the background. Weird.
I've yet to have a random reboot on 3.2.4
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Got my very first reboot :crying:
I'm on 3.2.4 with bl unlocked, rooted, Xposed, twrp
Had several reboots while driving and navigating on google maps one after the other. Maybe it is to do with the GPS sensor but its annoying coz you need it most when u r navigating turn by turn

Agree. It happens only when I drive with gmaps running on background. When the screen times out, the phone, instead of shutting down the display, goes to hard reboot.
I've never had this issue until I moved to the latest update. Weird. Annoying.
I had my first reboot a few hours ago (with 3.2.4). I was connected to Bluetooth in my Car. Noticed it, as my car told me that mein Phone is now connected. No gmaps or something with GPS runinng.
Looks like Bluetooth is the Problem.
