Hi,
I am using a 2.1 HTC DESIRE, and I have added MS exchange syncro calendar, but the reminders that I have defined with MS outlook do not syncronize and I have to modify DESIRE calendar so as to manually add reminders.
Is this a normal behaivour?
Thanks,
is there an option in Settings>Accounts & Sync>Microsoft Exchange Active Sync??
Dont play with MS Exchange myself so i cant be sure
i am afraid there is not
Ah well someone will have some more indept details im sure, just hang tight for a bit longer
Same question here, I'm interested in HTC Desire and will have to sync like this:
- contacts + mail via push function on exchange server
- notes + tasks + calendar via USB sync on outlook 2007 - 2010.
Is this possible?

I'm getting mighty confused by these multiple calendars that have appeared on my device and getting them to sync with my Google calendar.
Here's my set up. I have all contacts and calendars on my Google account before I started. I set up my Desire to sync with them using Google account.
All seemed fine but I found the Gmail app on Desire pretty limiting so I set up an Exchange activesync account linked to my gmail account for my mail (always worked well on my HD) and set it to sync calendar and contacts too. I then disabled all the syncing through the google account to avoid complications.
Unfortunately the exchange account doesn't seem to be configured for push and has no option to change this but that's not why I'm here.
Coming from WM, I'm used to having one calendar that is in sync between Outlook on PC, Google calendar and mobile device.
When I co to calendars on my Desire now I have no less than 4:
My Calendar
xxx @ gmail.com
Exchange
PC Sync
What's going on here? Which is which? So far HTC Sync connects but will not swap any contacts or calendar items with device and vice versa. Nor do appointments I add to the device show up on Google Calendar.
I suspect that this is because these different profiles seem to be associated with one platform - outlook / google / desire - or another.
Can anyone shed any light?
Many thanks, M1.
For anyone else trying to work this out there is a useful (bit old) thread here:

It seems you need to be careful which calendar you add entries too if you want them to sync with cloud mail - I unticked the box next to My Calendar so now entries I add on the Desire default to the google account calendar and sync as expected.
Now have to get to grips with the PC Sync calendar and work out why none of my events and contacts are syncing with out look. Sigh - it's just another learning curve i guess ...

Push can be enabled under the Exchange ActiveSync Settings. It defaults to every 10 minutes, there's a Push Mail option.

Untick them all except Exchange and you'll just see Calendar entries updated by Exchange. I don't have an Exchange option incidentally, so just untick them all and it still shows.
xx @gmail.com is using the Google Sync interface but you said you dislike the Gmail App. PC Sync is for using HTC Sync via Outlook. This is really for non-Google Calendars/people locked into using Outlook. As you're using Google, you're better off updating direct from Google.
You can in theory use Exchange ActiveSync for E-Mail and Google for Calendar/Contacts or visa versa but obviously it makes more sense to use one method or the other. As Gmail supports Exchange ActiveSync, there is basically crossover between using Exchange ActiveSync (and the HTC Mail App) or Google Sync (and the Gmail App).

I presume, so you have them in Outlook too? Don't bother.
I use GSyncit to update Outlook. This talks directly to Google and gets Contacts/Calendar. It's well worth the $10-15. For me it goes:
* Outlook to Google via GSyncit: Both ways
* Google to HTC Desire via Exchange ActiveSync (or Google Sync if I prefer): Again both ways
Have installed Defrost (open desire ROM)
I want to sync my phone with my PC (Outlook, contacts, calendar)
I know that I can not use HTC sync with this ROM which I really really like (the ROM)
Does any body know a solution????
Most important is that I can sync calendar!
Thanks in advance
I installed Google Calendar Sync on my PC.
It hooks into Outlook and synchronizes your outlook calendar with your Google account calendar. The sync can be 1 way (from either PC or phone) or 2 way.
All you need is your phone to have an 3G or WIFI connection to update.
Only downside to this is that it does not do contacts and email
I'm distraught.
One of the companies I work for has upgraded to Exchange Server.
I have no problems getting mail on computer or phone, however, Outlook 2010 creates a new calendar and contact list that is almost *empty*
That is fine as well, as I have my own contact and calendar in Outlook.
But now, when I sync with HTC Sync - my contacts and calendar entries disappear from HTC Desire, and gets replaced with the ones in the Exchange Calendar & Contacts.
All I can choose from is PCSync - and on the android I can't specify which calendar and contact. In HTC Sync, I can't seem to select either, only Outlook as option (running HTC Sync 3.0.XXX) - latest
I tried to place everything on Google Calendar (even though I don't like privacy issues), but I have Windows 7 64 bit (and gee - nothing works well with 64 bit).
Unfortunately - I can't place my calendar entries on the company's server, since I work for different companies and don't want to give out certain contacts and issues...
Can someone help? Pretty please with cherry on top?
Regards.
Perhaps you could use a separate outlook profile for accessing this email account, so its not part of the default profile and should not sync to the phone.
been a member here for a while now and not really had much input so I'd thought I would start I can here looking for hints/tips but seem to find more guys moaning about why wp7 isnt working on there old monster.
Zune and wp7 seems to work great together and so easy to drag and drop stuff around, I've kinda replaced media players now just to keep it all neat in 1 place. But the most annoying thing was outlook syncing.
HTC phoned me today and told me there's some nice stuff they are bringing out soon and the htc sync should be ready soon which (hopefully) will fix some bits and microsoft will of course be doing a lot more work.
The easiest way to sync data up from outlook 97/2010 I found was to use hotmail. Once you added the outlook connector (ofcourse you need to be using hotmail with an account), is to drag your contacts into your hotmail address book. On the phone just like with facebook you connect up hotmail and sync your data. Do bear in mind if like most of your hotmail and facebook contacts, it will just show an email address. I deleted all these in outlook itself and copy/pasted MY address book to the hotmail folder version.
If I think of anything else thats handy i'll post them also. Hope this helps a few of you (if its already been posted I couldnt find it so sorry).
or export your contacts to a file from outlook, and import them to google and sync it with WP7
calendar, do a same thing, export and use google sync to import it to a google calendar and sync it with the phone
Or set up a hosted Exchange account for your personal mails, and (if you have Outlook 2010) have both home and work exchange accounts active and open on one profile and drag and drop from 1 calander/contact list to the other - the same as you would if you had a Live account and Outlook connector installed.
Bear in mind using hotmail and the outlook connector only allows you to sync calendar, email and contacts. Your outlook notes and tasks will not sync and there currently seems to be no way of getting them to sync. You can abandon Outlook notes and use OneNote instead though, but there doesn't seem to be a solution for tasks, which is a shame because that is the app I use the most and I'm really going to miss it (so much as that I'm going to continue having my HD2 with me just for my task list!).
Hopefully Microsoft will enable task sync from Outlook to Hotmail soon, and put a Tasks app on WP7.

In the same boat here. Have yet to move over to One Note for the notes but I've I'm not mistaken, you can use it for tasks too, although I've not seen or done this.
So, I wanted to sync my work outlook calendar to my Evo. But, I don't want to share my calendar the other way. My question is if I sync my work outlook calendar will it only sync one way or expose all my personal calendar events to my work calendar?
In a nutshell, is sync two way or can I control it to be just one-way?
Thanks in advance.

I have my personal gmail account and my work's exchange account both syncing to my phone and my personal calendar stuff is kept separate from my work stuff. When I add an event to the calendar, it will default to my exchange calendar but i can chose while one it is sent to.
Attached is a screenshot from my "new event" screen. I can chose my google calendar, my wife's google calendar, a specific calendar I set up in google for work events, and my exchange calendar.
In a nutshell, your work calendar will sync both ways, but will only sync information entered in to it's specific calendar.
agreed - I've used ActiveSync calendaring with Exchange and it's bidirectional but completely separate from my Gmail calendaring (also bidirectional)
