HTC desires music player reading game audio files - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

how do i stop this it keeps reading files from the games like asphalt and assassins creed and puts them in the music player. tried tune wiki and double twist still no luck can someone help me?

I read another post earlier!
Just create a file called .nomedia and it won't index that folder
Very handy!

but that makes the file non readable for the game too. . .

Music Player: Error while shorting songs

Dear,
I have a doubt about Music Player, not sure if possible fixing it.
I use music copied from iTunes directory in my PC. The problem is when I have a Disc with more than one CD. Instead of playing CDs in order, it mix the CDs, in this way: first, the 1º songs of CD1 and CD2; second, the 2º songs of CD1 and CD2, etc.
Does anybody know a way to fix this (without rename all the MP3 files)?
Thanks
Sesaru
Mods I think that maybe this is not related to ROM development?
Oh! Sheet, I should post in 'Diamond' forum, not this one. It's my fault (sorry).
But I can't move now ... if any xda administrator can do it, please.

Remove unwanted files from music player

I installed the Asphalt game from the market and now there are close to 180 ogg files named raw* in my music player list. Is there anyway to get rid of them without unistalling the game?
I don't want to use some other music player since I like the default one's widget
Create a file with notepad and give it no name and the extention .nomedia place this in the directory that contains the items you don't want to be displayed in your media player and your problem is solved.
So you will end up this: ".nomedia" it's totaly empty but this is the way 2 go.
Worked perfectly.. Thanks!
Is there a similar approach to sorting images? The albums they show up in seem to be quite random. I'd like to define only certain folders to grab images from for the albums. I just can't figure out to manage photo albums at all.
i did it and worked at first but now i see them in music player. they are scanned again
edit: a restart fixed the issue and now they don't appear
Does it work with video files too? also wondering if it is anyhow possible to hide applications in program listing?
tried this, as my audio book files showed up in the music player, and it works...but...it also removes the audio book files from the audio book player! So I had to remove the .nomedia file again to be able to listen to my books
thanks! worked

media player playing game sounds

I downloaded fun game called sniper vs sniper, which i really like. However It seems all my media players including the default one are picking up the ingame sounds as songs =/.
Does anyone know a workaround for this? I would like to keep the ingame sounds just not have the media player recognize them.
what media player are u using? i use Mixzing and it allows u to choose what folders to add musics or media to it from
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.mixzing.basic works better for me then htc or android player see if that helps u might like it better too
Place a file called ".nomedia" in the directories you dont want your media player/gallery app to index
I forgot about the .noindex trick but I prefer Mixzing anyway.

This does not seem to work with HTCs gallery and media player. Anyone else concur or am I doing something wrong?
Works for me with the stock media player and gallery, I hide my 'Audiobooks' directory that way which has both images and mp3's.

Filter Music Player?

Hey, I have tried looking all over on my phone, searched Google, searched xda, but to no avail; If i missed something, Mod, feel free to share the link and close this thread.
Anyway, here's my problem--After downloading a couple games (assassins creed and a racing game) all of their stupid sound files populate in my music library. Assassins Creed alone has over 1,200...
Is there any way to exclude those folders from the music player library, or put some sort of a filter on if the songs are < 30 seconds? I would prefer to keep using the stock music player if possible, but if there are no ways to fix it i'd be open to hearing about other players that would accomplish what i'm looking for.
Crossing my fingers this isn't a double post,
amruthwo
I haven't used my music app, but omg it's spammed from applications
yeah, it's super annoying. What music player do you use instead?

I haven't had any need to play music on the Evo yet, but I will for sure be keeping an eye out for another music player....
put a ".nomedia" file in the directories that you don't want it to see
I've never made one of those, I'll try to find out how though. Thanks!
Sent from my EVO using XDA App
If you're on windows just open up notepad. File save as ".nomedia" with the quotes. that'll make notepad keep the extension and not append .txt to the end of it.
thanks!
Thanks Albaholic, man I love this forum!
No problem
I tried placing this file in my "youmail" folder, but DoubleTwist is still seeing my downloaded voicemails as playable songs. Does this ".nomedia" file only affect the HTC Music Player?

i can't play any song in defy !!!!!!!!!!

hello
i have defy running android 2.1 and he can't open any song !!! i don't know why
if i open song >>> There are no playable songs on this playlist
in the original music app and in the other
please help me
Where do you have copied your songs?
Which format did they have?
Stored mine /sdcard/mobile/music/actor/album/song.mp3. I have only mp3-files
all music i have mp3
and i have 3 files
file 1 bs album
file 2 gaga album
file 3 justin bieber album
where i should put it ???
On the sdcard in any directory. The original player should find the files in any directory, except in the directory is an empty file named ".nomedia".
I also have this issue, noticed it by missing several alarms, found that only built-in alarm tones work, as mp3 sounds are not played by any alarm clock, any media player (songbird, default media player, ...). If anyone has any idea why this happens, please send me a note, I'd be grateful.
