Yeah, get rid of sense. You can do that simply by rooting your phone.

My phone is rooted, but I wanna keep the Sense Widgets. How should I continue ?

the htc dialer is intigrated into sence, even if you could remove it, it would mean things like calling from your contacts wigets n such wouldnt work

If I remove htcdealer.apk the call is the htc sense callscreen, but the telefon button doesn't work anymore

Yeah exactly thats what i said before lol

Oh sorry, I didn't know what you meant with "contract widget"
So I have to replace the launcher right ?

yes that would be the most obvious port but however , rooting should be achieved first
you are kidding right? the desire is a nexus one with sense on it. just turn of sense and you will have plain Android 2.1. good luck!

turning off sense was an old story on previous htc android phones. with the desire, you are not able just to ''turn off sense''. you have to install helix launcher... or something else.
anyway, htc sense is not only the homescreen, it goes beyond that. .i.e dialer, phone contacts, camera, gallery .... just to mention a few.
i not kidding! if killing sense interface, the memory remains occupied by sense's apk!
i wanted a smooth rom!
thanks

soo right. sense UI ROMs use much more ram for its own resources even when I'm using Launcher2 and killing the so-called "HTC Sense" task.

Where can I get the HTC Contacts, Calendar, and Dialer Apps?

Hey guys.
I've got DeFrost 1.5f running on my desire, and I love it, but I want the HTC Calendat, Contacts, and Dialer apps back. I much prefer those over the apps that are built into Froyo. How do I go about getting those apps back?
I think you can't. AFAIK, they're built into Sense using HTC framework. I would love to know if there's a way aswell...

plain android rom

I wood really like a rom which is just plain android (no htc sense ui). As I would like to use launcher pro beta as my home. Or even better a method of removing sense ui from stock rom.
Thanks
Dion
I would suggest you try one of the Froyo roms if you are wanting a rom without sense ui.

why would you want a nexus one :s its an ugly desire with less ram
In retrospect, i would probably have chosen the nexus too, just for the quicker release of OTA updates from Google. But with this in mind, and when the Desire officially receives the Froyo update, wouldn't updates be released quicker through HTC if they get rid of sense ui?...

I hate sense to. Its the stupiest of all home screen. But installing anything else means rooting which I dont like just now.
It is impossible to use any ROM except the stock ROM on a non-rooted desire.

Wow, why get a phone with Sense if you're going to complain?
Try out adw launcher or the stock Nexus One launcher us available for download as well. You do lose all things Sense if you use it though.

Check out nimbu.amorvi.com
I found the stock launcher here and installed it on my Desire and used it with no problems, you can also find the really cool gallery app from the Nexus One here which has some really cool features that I wish HTC hadn't taken out ie date/location grouping.

I don't hate sense. I do hate the sense homescreen which i have replaced by launcherpro. But the facebook integration and the interface changes do make an addition imo! It could be smoother though ,hope that changes in 2.2

[Q] Slide to answer call

Hello.
I really don't linke the ring lockscreen on 2.3.5 roms
I deleted the htc lockscreeps apk's and now I get the default GB lockscreen.
I just would like to know how to add the "slide to answer call" function like in cm7.
I don't want to use a market app like hd caller id.
Any help would be appreciated

its actually not posiible..as we have make some framework changes..thats time consuming & brain eating..!
Thanks for replying.
What is your advice then?
If you try to mess up with framework chances are you'll break something or the other. You can use cm roms if you want. They got everything as well except that sexy gui.

You can maybe find Sense themed apps like dialers but the pure sense apps need Sense framework in most cases
